About the Ring Alarm Outdoor Contact Sensor

Secure your weather-exposed entries
Secure your weather-exposed entries
If you've got a Ring Alarm system and need to secure your weather-exposed gates, doors, or windows, this outdoor-rated contact sensor is what you need. It works with any Ring Alarm system to give you real-time security alerts on your mobile device whenever a door or window opens at your home. The sensor mounts easily to any door or window frame, and its tamper-resistant design and long battery life mean you can rest a little easier.
If you have a Ring Protect Pro plan (sold separately), the monitoring center will contact you when a contact sensor is triggered. If they can't reach you or the other listed emergency contacts, they will dispatch emergency responders to your address.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Ring Alarm Outdoor Contact Sensor helps to secure outdoor buildings, gates, and windows. The two-piece sensor connects wirelessly to the Ring Alarm Base Station via Z-Wave, which gives it a range of 250 feet. This IP66-rated, weather-resistant sensor can instantly inform you when someone has opens a gate, enters your shed, or opens a window. The sensor works with the Ring Alarm Security System. This package contains two Outdoor Contact Sensors.
Note: Use of the Outdoor Contact Sensor requires the Ring Alarm or Ring Alarm Pro (sold separately).
Operation: The Outdoor Contact Sensor consists of a sensor and a strong magnet. The sensor and magnet should be installed side-by-side, one on the door, window, or gate, and the other on the door/window frame, or gate post. They should be no more than 1" apart when the door, window, or gate is closed. When the magnet and sensor are separated (when the door, window, or gate is opened), the sensor detects a change in the magnetic field, and triggers the sensor to send an alert to the alarm base station, and onto your computer or mobile device. It can also be programmed to automatically trigger your Ring Alarm siren when the alarm is armed in Home or Away mode.
Installation: The two Outdoor Contact Sensor components have strong 2-sided tape for attaching to the door, window, or gate and its frame. Each component comes apart for mounting with the supplied screws, if desired.
Power Requirements: The Ring Outdoor Contact Sensor is powered by two "AA" alkaline batteries (included). Typical battery life is up to 5 years, depending on device settings, usage, and environmental factors.
