If you already have some outdoor lighting in place, but you want to incorporate it into your Ring Smart Lighting system, this is the product you've been waiting for. Ring's new Smart Outdoor Plug can add smart controls to your seasonal string lights, patio lights, or outdoor appliances. The plug has two outlets that can be controlled independently.
Easy to install and control
You'll need to plug it into a weatherproof outdoor GFCI AC power outlet at least two feet above ground level. The 6.5-inch cable should hang with the outlets facing down. You can then plug in two outdoor devices. Each outlet has a cover for when it is not in use.
To make these devices "smart," you'll also need to connect the Plug to the Ring Smart Lighting Bridge (sold separately) using the Ring app. Once you do, you'll be able to group and control your lighting or appliances from the app wherever you are. You can also add a motion sensor so that your lights turn on when someone approaches the house.
And if you have a compatible Amazon Alexa device, you can turn on your connected devices using only your voice.

Overview: The Ring Outdoor Smart Plug has two protected outlets that for powering and controlling outdoor plug-in lights or appliances from your smartphone or tablet through the Ring app. You can customize settings and controls in the app, and sync your connected devices with other Ring smart lights, doorbells, and cameras (wireless connection to the Ring Bridge required). Voice control by Alexa-enabled devices is also possible. The Outdoor Smart Plug has a manual on/off switch, as well. The plug is 3-1/8" x 5-3/8" x 2-1/16" (W x H x D) with a 7" cord, and weighs 14.25 ounces. It comes with hardware to permanently attach the plug to an outside wall, if desired.
Electrical Requirements: The Outdoor Smart Plug should be plugged into a weather-protected GFCI outlet that is at least two feet off of the ground. The smart plug is designed to hang from the wall outlet with its outlets facing downward. The plug is weather-resistant (IP64 rating), and works in temperatures between -4°F and 122°F. It is designed for a 110-120VAC, 60 Hz input, and delivers a 110-120VAC 60 Hz output rated at 15A max load in total. It can power motors up to 1/2 HP, or a 1875 Watt resistive load.
Assignable Outlets: The two AC outlets are labeled "A" and "B" so you can control them individually through the Ring app. The app lets you group each outlet with other Smart Lights, Plugs, sensors, and Ring cameras to work together to enhance security.
Ring App: The free Ring - Always Home app pulls together all of your Ring devices, including the Outdoor Smart Plug (connection to the Ring Bridge required). The app lets you create schedules for the individual outlets, and group the outlets with other lights and smart plugs and control them together. The Ring App is available for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 14.0 or later, and for Android devices running version 9.0 and up. The Ring desktop app has been discontinued, however, all of your settings and Ring features will be accessible in your account on Ring.com.
Alexa Support: The Ring Outdoor Smart Plug can be controlled via compatible Alexa-enabled devices when the plug is connected to the Ring Bridge.
