Product Research
Features
Overview: The Ring Panic Button (4AP1S90EN0) is an accessory to the Ring Alarm system. When an emergency arises, press and hold the button for three seconds to sound the siren on the Ring Alarm. If you have a subscription to Ring Protect Pro, the 24-hour professional monitoring center will be notified, and emergency responders can be dispatched. The Panic Button is battery powered, and can be placed next to your bed, desk, or anywhere, or mounted on a wall. More than one Panic Button can be used in a Ring Alarm system.
Physical Dimensions: The Ring Panic button is approximately 3" in diameter, and 1" high (without the mounting bracket). It weighs 2.2 ounces, including the battery.
Battery Power: The Panic Button is powered by a 3-volt Lithium battery (CR123A, included). Typical battery life is 3 years, and can easily be user-replaced.
Z-Wave Wireless Communication: The Panic Button communicates with the Ring Alarm System base station via Z-Wave, a wireless radio frequency technology that is widely used in smart home products. It has a range of approximately 250 feet to the base station.
LED Feedback: The Ring Panic Button features an LED ring surrounding the button to provide instant visual feedback during setup or activation. When you press and hold the Panic Button for three seconds, the LED ring will turn blue. As it signals your base station, the ring will rapidly flash blue. Once the Panic Button has successfully signaled the alarm, the LED will alternate between blue and red five times. The siren will sound, and, if subscribed, the Ring Protect Pro Monitoring Center will be notified. If the Panic Button fails to trigger the Alarm, the LED will flash red five times, the siren will not sound, nor will the Monitoring Center be notified. During setup, the LED ring will blink blue while pairing is in progress, and will glow solid blue when pairing is successful. If pairing is unsuccessful, the ring will light up red for 3 seconds. If the device has been tampered with, the Panic Button ring will blink 3 times.
Installation: The Panic Button comes with a thin wall mounting bracket, along with screws and wall anchors. It can also be installed with the included 2-sided adhesive pad. During installation, the Panic Button will need to be paired with your Ring Alarm base station. Multiple Panic Buttons can be paired to a single base station, allowing you to place buttons in multiple locations.
Ring Protect Pro: The Ring Alarm security system offers a subscription-based Ring Protect Pro plan that includes 24/7 professional monitoring. If you have a Protect Pro subscription, pressing the panic button will connect your alarm system to Ring's monitoring center, and emergency responders can be dispatched to your location.
