Overview: The Ring Video Doorbell Wired replaces your existing wired doorbell, and connects to your 2.4GHz home Wi-Fi network. When someone approaches your front door or rings your doorbell, the Video Doorbell instantly alerts you, allowing you to see and hear who's there before you answer it. The camera streams Full HD video, while the two-way audio lets you speak with your visitor. The Video Doorbell Wired comes with security and mounting hardware. Camera: The Video Doorbell Wired features a wide-angle lens with a wide 155° (horizontal) and 90° vertical field of view. The camera produces bright 1080p Full HD video in a live view that you can watch on your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Advanced Motion Detection can trigger real-time notifications, so you can keep up with what's happening at home. Customizable motion zones let you define the areas you want to monitor, eliminating most false notifications. You can also fine-tune the sensitivity from "All Activity" to "People Only," if desired. Built-in infrared LEDs enable night vision after the sun goes down.

Wi-Fi: The Ring Video Doorbell Wired operates on an 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi connection on the 2.4 GHz band. A minimum upload speed of 1 Mbps is required, while 2 Mbps is recommended for best streaming performance.

Power Requirements: The Video Doorbell Wired requires an existing doorbell system, a Ring plug-in adapter, or a transformer for the power supply. It requires working 10-24V AC, 40VA max, 50/60Hz or 24VDC, 0.5A, 12W doorbell wiring.

Installation: The Video Doorbell should be installed approximately 4 feet above the ground for best performance. If replacing an existing doorbell that is higher than 4 feet, a wedge kit is available for purchase from Ring. The bracket mounts first, then the doorbell snaps into place on the bracket. If mounting to stucco, brick, or concrete, you should use the included wall anchors when installing. Torx security screws (and screwdriver) are included to secure the doorbell to the bracket.

Optional Doorbell Chime: The optional Ring Chime and Chime Pro allow you to hear audio alerts in your home. The Chime/Chime Pro plugs into a nearby AC outlet, and replace your existing doorbell chime. The existing chime is bypassed and disabled with the included jumper wire. Whenever the doorbell sends out a notification, you'll be able to hear it on the Ring Chime's speaker, even if you're not near your smartphone. You can set up multiple alert tone and adjust the volume of the notifications in the Ring - Always Home app. You can also activate the Do Not Disturb mode for those times when you don't want to hear the notifications.

Note: The doorbell will not sound on an existing home wired chime.

Ring App: The free Ring - Always Home app pulls together all of your Ring devices, including Video Doorbells and Security Cameras. The app sends you an instant alert when someone triggers a motion sensor, or rings your Ring Video Doorbell. You'll be able to see, hear, and speak to anyone on your property using your smart device. In addition, the app lets you create a virtual Neighborhood Watch and receive alerts from your neighbors. In the app, you can zoom and pan for a better look, customize the Motion Zones, times for receiving (or not receiving) alerts, and how often to be notified for motion events. The Ring App is available for Apple iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch running iOS 11.0 or later, and for Android devices running version 5.0 and up. The app also works with Windows 10 and Mac OS X 10.11 or later.

Amazon Alexa Enabled: The Ring Doorbell Wired is compatible with Alexa-enabled devices. Using the Alexa Voice Assistant, you can use voice commands to hear custom notifications and use the Two-Way Talk feature with Echo Dot, and view video on the Echo Show.

Ring Protect: The Ring app includes a free 30-day trial of Ring Protect, which lets you save, review, and share recordings from the app. With the purchase of a Ring Video Doorbell Wired, you receive motion-activated notifications, real-time video with Live View, two-way talk, and lifetime theft protection. Ring Protect Basic (for one camera) adds 60-day video history, video saving and sharing, and Snapshot Capture. Ring Protect Plus (for unlimited cameras) adds extended warranties for all devices, and 10% off select products at Ring.com.
