I am using this unit to switch a set of speakers in a den between either a small amplifier in the room for a source different than the rest of the house or to tie the den speakers into the whole-house system. Installation was a breeze and the switch is meeting my needs completely.

Good quality

I work with building automation and controls, and this seems to be a high quality item. Looked around and found some much cheeper, but none offered a ten year warrenty. I installed it outside to be able to isolate different receivers to one pair of speakers, and it works well. Only had it a couple of weeks, but don't expect any problems. If any arise, I can rely on Crutchfield to have my back!

Can't beat Niles quality. This is the second Niles ABA-1D switch that I've installed. Does a perfect job of switching between two sets of speakers.

Source selector switch

Works great to select between two sources, one in the room with the speakers and the main one in the liv. rm. I used wire ferrels on the wires and inserted them into the connection terminals.

The speaker switch was easy to install but I needed to use a a low-voltage wall plate to avoid an electrical box, since this was installed in an old wall in my kitchen. A well made switch with screws to tighten down on the wires.

Great product. I have 3 of them in use and have had no problems with them at all. My use for them is different than then intended function but works perfectly for what I needed. I use them as an On/Off switch for the speakers in remote locations in the house. I can turn the stereo on and control my music by WiFi through my iPhone. By pressing the button on this wall switch I am able to have music in the garage or the other side of the house without going to the remotely located speaker selector. Another bonus is I don't have to worry about a pair of speakers blasting music that I don't know are on since I can simply turn the switch off when I leave the space and stop the flow of music.

Highly recommend

Great product very easy to use. It's self explanatory and works great. Used it to go from two sources to two zones of speakers(basically a pair, as it says in the description). Plenty of room inside the receptical box for your wiring. Just make sure you have a small enough flathead screwdriver to tighten the screws down on the speaker wire. And it doesn't seem to take any sound quality/clarity away. Buy it!

Great Solution

Perfect fix for my needs. I wanted to use 1 set of speakers as both rear surrounds for a home theater setup and as an additional set of speakers for when I'm running music throughout the house from another amp. This worked perfectly.
