Infrared Blaster better than expected
Crutchfield customer from Bellmore, NY on 12/31/2020
Worked with a Key Digital balun seamlessly to control a Hisense television. Weight is negligible so affixing it to the flat screen's bottom edge was no issue. Length of cord was more than ample. By virtue of it being entirely black, it blends nicely with the black edge as well, making it considerably less obtrusive.

Works Great
Griz from Duluth, Georgia on 1/18/2015
I was struggling with the single flashers on a couple of my devices. Mounted one of these using the high output setting on the MSU250 and it's working flawlessly.
Pros: Works great
Cons: None so far. Wish it had been included in the original device set.

My experience is identical to the review by Otnip. I needed a replacement for the older Niles model IRP2+ and this works perfectly.

Replacement for the Discontinued IRC-1
Otnip from Texas on 1/22/2012
I have a discontinued Niles IRP2+ IR extender which uses the discontinued Niles IRC-1 (and IRC-2) flasher. My IRC-1 flasher was no longer functioning and I purchased the IRB-1 flasher as a replacement. I couldn't find any documentation (on the Niles and Crutchfield sites) on replacements for the discontinued Niles flashers, so I bought this one not knowing whether it would actually work. It worked perfectly as a replacement. I needed to cut the 3.5mm plug because the IRP2+ uses screw terminals. The wire lead with the stripe is (+). I connected it to the "full" flasher terminal. Works reliably inside my cabinet controlling several different devices, including an Apple TV.

Hi Output IR flasher
AL from Connecticut on 4/13/2011
These things are amazing! I have them in a AV cabinet that has two racks. I installed one on each side with the self adhesieve peel off [that is still sticking] to the ceiling of the wooden cabinetry. If the doors are open it is exposed to sunlight, compact fluorescent lighting, Led lighting, and it continues to work perfectly. I expected to have to fool around adjusting locations but it works great! Very reliable! I'd highly recommend this product!
