Works great!

We were able to hook up the Niles IR system very easily. The instructions were easy to follow. The sensor is small enough to hid in the shadows and met our requirement to be not easily seen.
Pros: Easy to install. Cables were long enough to allow the unit to be installed where we had room and wanted it installed.

Unreliable & Difficult to setup
BubbaE from Pittsburgh, PA on 6/4/2014
Did not work reliably. The wiring and connections are simple but the small transmitters that need to mount to the components were extremely finicky to work reliably. At first I thought it may not be compatible with my receiver so I tried setting it up on my DVD player - similar results. I tried all of the different tricks mentioned in the manuals but none worked consistently. Just when I thought I got it working, either parts of it or all of it would stop working. For example, the volume up would work for a while but the volume down would not work. After a little bit of adjustments, the opposite would occur (the volume down would work but now the volume up stopped).
Pros: Flexible wiring (50' cord) allows placement almost anywhere.
Cons: Unreliable. Very difficult to install the transmitters.

Niles RCA-TT2 infrared repeater system
SteveC from Grand Rapids, Mi on 5/16/2014
I needed 30 feet of cable to go from my Sony HD TV to my Denon AVR-X-1000 to control the volume on my TV and my DVR. It was very simple to install and works like a champ. You can't go wrong with this set-up!
