Love the Bazooka tubes they hit hard

I installed this into my 2013 Lexus GS with Mark Levinson stereo to replace the stock woofer. I turned on the stereo and there was no bass from the Bazooka. After a few hours of troubleshooting my wiring, ohm(DVC) cable config, etc., I removed the Bazooka and hooked it up to my home stereo. It still did not play. I realized Bazooka sent me defective speaker. I called Crutchfield and exchanged it for a replacement Bazooka (same model). Luckily I bought it from Crutchfield because I could return it within 60 days. Other sellers only have a 30 day return policy. I received the replacement bass tube and installed it. It also did not play either. I figured it was unlikely to receive 2 defective speakers in a row so I spent a lot of time researching my ML stereo/amp, etc. And after more testing I finally realized nothing was wrong with my stereo/amp/wiring...Bazooka just sent me a 2 defective bass tube speakers. This was so very frustrating. I checked the packaging and saw they weren't made in the US. That meant they don't test their speakers before they ship them out to customers. They wasted so much of my time with their crappy products. I will never buy another Bazooka product. This time I exchanged it for a JL Audio bass wedge speaker. It only cost a little more and comes with a 2 yr warranty. Hopefully JL Audio does product testing before shipping them to customers.
Cons: 2 speakers in a row were dead on arrival. Very poor quality, the product manual sucks...it doesn't provide any info on the different ways to wire the dual voice coils together to get the Ohm load you want so you must guess and experiment. Bazooka doesn't test their products (to ensure they work) before shipping them to customers. It's a good thing they don't make anything important like a parachutes, or heart pacemakers!

This subwoofer is an excellent addition to my new stereo system. I needed a smaller size unit to go in my 1992 Chevrolet S-10 Extended Cab.
Pros: Great Bass, smaller size unit.
Cons: Don't see any negatives with this unit.

I purchased this item from another seller (Not Crutchfield). I've always built my own enclosures and purchased component subs- Several from Crutchfield. I must say I was totally surprised by the way this thing sounded. It was amazing upon installation and trial/testing.... Until it sounded like a voicecoil rattling/loose and had that very distinct burnt smell. This was at Maybe a total of 3 hours of play when I had just left work and was driving home. Windows were up and volume was not up high. Maybe1/4-1/3. I called the seller and their customer service told me I was basically out of luck since it was obviously blown (her words, not mine). After haggling, I was informed that I could ship it back to them "at a reduced rate" (about $20) and they would test it and replace if found defective. I decided not to keep throwing money at it and just ate the loss. I'm quite sure Crutchfield would have handled my call much differently. Even if the result were the same, I'm sure their rep would be much more courteous to a customer. Lesson learned. I'll stick to what I know from now on.
Pros: Inexpensive, easy to install and set up. Sounded great at first.
Cons: Lasted less than 4 hours. Replacement woofer from Bazooka is $75 plus any shipping.

Needed to add a new head unit to the 4Runner my son will eventually take over. I still drive it from time to time and miss the true bass I have in my car with subs and amp. I had a spare amp and decided the passive dual voice coil box would be a good match. I was very impressed with it's output and blending with the existing 4 speaker setup. Leaving it at '0' SW level on the Kenwood unit, "noon" on the sensitivity setting on the Jensen amp provides a really nice bass extension with plenty of room to add clean bass. Very satisfied.
Pros: Clean low end extension without being exaggerated (unless you want it to be); easily integrates with an existing system.
Cons: Probably needs to be anchored down if placed in the back storage area to prevent movement; it does come with a strap for this purpose.
