Everything you want a sub woofer to do. I've bought many of these over the years for my vehicles. Big warm huge bass. Perfect. I'm a pro sound engineer. I know about this stuff.

Very poor quality
Scott from Portland, OR on 7/31/2021
I hate to be that guy giving a one star, but my experience with this product was not good. The quality is poor - at least the two that I tried to install. Both came with the rear plate containing the amp broken off of the tube in the box. Neither would put out any sound (DOA) and when I called SAS support (four times) I never got through nor did I ever get a return call. They never did respond to my emails to support either. This product is exactly what gives "cheap" the reputation. I ended up going with the Wet Sounds Stealth AS-8 and, though it's more money, is a much better quality product. I will never waste my time with an SAS product again. Crutchfield support and customer service was, as always, top notch in assisting with trouble shooting and returns.

Marine Sounds on my boat
Crutchfield customer from Mobile, AL on 12/20/2020
Great sounds from this powered sub. I put it on my 21.6 Sea Fox cuddy cabin. With my Rockford Fosgate 400 watt 4 channel amp on my 4 - 6 inch Polk speakers The powered Sub makes my Boat sound incredible. Great service and quick delivery

This sounds awesome in my boat, just what we were looking for, not too loud, just enough to round out the system. Can feel and hear the bass at 30mph cruising in rough water

Pleasantly Surprised!
Tim M from Waunakee, WI on 6/16/2020
I did a lot of looking around before purchasing. I read good and bad about the tube subwoofers, but wanted some more bass in my 20ft bowrider. It is mounted in a large (figuratively speaking) storage compartment. Got it fired up and was pleasantly surprised. I didn't have a lot of room in the boat and didn't really care to cut a 10" sub/speaker hole in the boat for in infinite baffle subwoofer. Running the (4) 6.5" speakers of the JVC Deck (no external amp) and the preamp outputs to the sub. It sounds pretty good to my untrained ears. Its not a lake shaker (not what I wanted) but sitting at the sandbar or drifting across the lake...it sounds pretty good.
Pros: Turn key and easy to install.
Cons: Somewhat of an awkward shape. The rubber flange near the speaker end didn't seem to be securely mounted.

pretty good once it's set up
Crutchfield customer from Boxford, MA on 9/3/2019
I ended up having to get 3 units to get one that was working. However, Crutchfield was great and kept sending out new units. Once I got the third unit and plugged in the wiring which had been completed with the first one, i was a little underwhelmed with the volume. It turns out that if I turn my head unit Kenwood KMR sub woofer setting all the way up to 15, and I turn the gain all the way up on the Bazooka, and I turn the remote all the way up, it's alright. I installed this on a 23' boat. I have an Alpine amp powering 4 - 6 1/2" Infinity marine speakers. The Bazooka is in the cuddy. It does add a nice texture to the sound, and it does fill out the low end nicely. I just assumed that turned all the way up, it would overpower the rest of my system and I could run this down at a more comfortable setting. I am using the RCA connections. I ran a 10 gauge power and ground wires. This is a huge improvement over the initial set up of the Kenwood running direct to the 4 Infinity speakers, which was terrible. Adding the Alpine Amp will not over power the speakers and vastly improves the quality of sound. Finally the sub rounds it out and brings it to a nice acceptable sound. It's not Harmon Kardon, but it sounds full
Pros: easy to wire, not bad on space, improved the overall sound quality of my system
Cons: not quite as powerful as I had hoped.

I went with the bazooka 8" for my boat because I have a small 18' bow rider. It sounds great in the cabin. Not gonna hear it coming from far away but does the job with good quality
Pros: Small Easy wiring Good bass

Good solution

Overall a good solution for simple install, just a little spendy little sub. Not much else out there for a all in one amplified unit. Sounds good- Hopefully it holds up.

This is my 3rd bazooka but first new one. My 2 previous boats had 8" bazooka tubes. There's no denying that a pair of 10" can pound harder but for all of the associated baggage I'll take the trade of a little less bass for more room and convenience. When we park in party cove our pontoon system gets compliments and I imagine the new runabout will too. Even though my head unit has sub out and level control I ordered the remote gain and xover control because it's easier than navigating through menus to adjust output. These tubes just work, sound good, all in a small footprint. On a boat or any vehicle within reason it's difficult to get more thump for your $$. imo
Pros: tight bass in a small footprint
Cons: not free

Loved it
DanB from California on 6/11/2015
Straight forward installation - product performs flawlessly on my aft-cabin boat - has totally changed the sound on board...can't recommend it enough.
Pros: Looks good - sounds great
Cons: Only thing I wish they had was an elegant cover/conduit for the back of the unit to hide the two sets of cables until you can get them behind a wall. Ended up taping them tightly but that part could look better
