The best off-axis performance I've ever heard

Jerome from Quebec City, Canada on 6/6/2017

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Excellent tweeters, I've tried many other tweeters, some higher end than those and the KST25 offer the best off-axis performance of all. Installed using custom bracket in a 2016 Audi A5 with stock non B&O audio system, huge improvement.

Pros: Very loud and clear, off-axis performance is the best I've heard.

Cons: A bit harshing in the low end (<3500hz) with the provided crossover but this may be just my personal taste...

Great Product, Would Purchase Again!

The OEM speakers were 2 inch and 13 ohm paper cone speakers, I had way more volume and clearity with these! They have a wider frequency range than my old ones, very crisp and clean sound, and highs weren't harsh like before. After taking the plug off the OE speakers and wiring it to the included crossover and speakers wires (which is way more than enough length I might add), it was a simple matter of fashioning a bracket out of the straps you can purchase from Crutchfield and attaching it with some stainless nuts and bolts with washers from the hardware store. I would recommend this product to my friends and anyone who is interested!

Pros: Plenty of extra wire, great sound, crystal clear, highs not harsh, included crossover, clear instructions.

Cons: Nothing really, was worth every penny!

Tweeter Upgrade in 2015 Wrangler Base Sound

Matthew S from San Antonio, TX on 10/10/2016

2015 Jeep Wrangler

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Replaced the factory 3.5 inch speakers in the dash and sound bar in 2015 Jeep Wrangler with these. Excellent imaging and vocals with the factory upgrade speakers. The silk tweeters integrate better than the metal tweeters with the factory style speakers. Won't sound overly harsh. Install is simple. Remove factory speakers and cut out speaker, baffle and wiring and remove connector. (simple detent push button inside connector). Don't cut the factory frame. You will be left with magnet and metal frame. You cannot cut out the magnet, Drill out the four studs that are pressed through. You will be left with the factory frame. Use the Kicker mounting bezel and retaining ring. Cup is too deep. Route the wiring through the opening in the factory speaker frame. Use a M4 (metric) screw and a couple of washers (minimum one inch wide at the base of the frame) and screw into the back of the tweeter. Depending upon washer thickness might need a couple. Tighten and connect crossover and wiring. Crutchfield has the adapter to connect into the factory harness. Install back into the dash or sound bar. Used sound baffle cup in the opening to deaden reflections. Tweeters are much more efficient than OEM base model speakers so suggest upgrading the 6.5's.

Pros: Excellent Imaging. Efficient with low power head end units. Strong grille. Fits great in factory speaker housing with mods.

Another Amazing Kicker Product

Marcus from Russell, PA on 9/7/2016

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

As with all of my other Kicker purchases, I am very pleased. They sounds amazing and hardly ever produce and really harsh tones. They can take a lot of power and abuse. I am also very pleased with the mounting setup for these. Compared to my way more expensive Rockford's the are way more user friendly. Overall another great product from Kicker.

Pros: Great sound No harsh tones ease of installation can take some serious abuse

Cons: They don't sound as good with low power setups

Kicker Tweeters super clear and easy install

Crutchfield customer from Wisconsin on 11/4/2015

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Sound clear! After some modification to factory "fill plate" in place of tweeters these fit perfectly in my Nitro. Plenty of excess wire and installation options. I think if I had to do it over again I would chose a different tweeter given my vehicle, by no means is it the tweeter itself. I just believe these are better suited for a vehicle with tweeters being placed in a deeper dash location compared to the lack of depth I have in given the Jeep windshield so close to the driver, or shallow dashboard. I was able to adjust to sound decent with Polk db641s. Pros: Sound clear and easy install Cons: None

Pros: Easy install and many variations of install Plenty of extra wire if needed Super clarity

Fit Factory holes 100%

These tweeters are awesome, They come with LOTS of different mounting options. I did not have to modify my 97 Dodge Dakota at all. It came with an adapter that fit the stock holes and they mount almost flush with none of the stock cutout showing. They look super slick in my truck. Thank you Crutchfield.

Pros: Super Clear Lots of mounting options Fit my trucks stock cutouts for the original tweeters requiring no modification on my part. Comes with high pass filter. They look Great.

Cons: none.

Great tweeter, at a reasonable price. I went with these, because they came with small, and manageable crossovers, already wired into the harness. These also came with about 10 different mounting rings, for nearly every imagineable installation.

Pros: Great price, great sound, great fit.

Q
Are the kicker kst25 tweeters a good factory replacement for a trailblazer with a bose system?
[ Ricky  Aug 23, 2015 ]
1 answer
A
Great question Ricky. The Chevy Trailblazers use (6 1/2) component speakers (mid-woofer, crossover, and tweeters). These would make a great replacement but i would advise to also replace the 6 1/2 woofer and eliminate the crossover. If you just want to replace the tweeters, disconnect the inline base blockers and connect to the existing crossovers.

Q
Where is the best place to mount tweeters on my 2011 Honda Pilot with 7 speaker/no navigation set up?
[ PDXer  Aug 14, 2015 ]
4 answers
A
Either on the upper part of the door panels or somewhere on the A pillars. You want the sound waves coming from tweeters to have an unobstructed path to go through the passenger compartment.
[ Jon  Aug 17, 2015 ]
A
I installed these in my 2007 F150, just a few weeks ago. My wife actually drives a 2011 Honda Pilot, so I was able to check it out, hands on. I believe the best place to mount the tweeters would be in the front doors, in the panel, directly above the factory speakers. This way you can wire them up, to the factory door speaker harness, and there will be plenty of room to tuck the inline crossover, behind the door panel. You will have to drill a hole, to accept the tweeter, as there is no factory provision for one. I would use a hole saw, in the diameter, just smaller than the tweeters, so the trim ring will sit on top of the panel. The Kickers come with multiple mounting options. You will actually be able to push in the tweeters, and use the mounting rings, on the back side, behind the panel. The rings will actually screw on to the tweeters, tightening them up and providing a secure and rattle free fit. I hope this helps, and good luck with your installation!
[ Jeffry  Aug 17, 2015 ]

If you already have separate tweeter's in your Honda I would remove the old tweeters and install the new ones in there place. I have a 2013 VW Sportwagan and that is what I did. Hope this helps.

Q
Most wiring instructions don't show wires for tweeters?
[ Dwayne  Jul 27, 2015 ]
6 answers
A
Depends how technical you wish to be the correct way is to find the ohms of your speakers out running tweeters parallel with then so they match your output ohm. But most systems will work without all that. Just run them parallel making sure +to+ -to-. mine work great I have them in 2 different cars with amps.
[ Richard  Jul 29, 2015 ]
A
Hi, Dwayne, Component tweeters get wired in parallel with the woofer. For these tweeters that come with an inline high pass crossover, the wiring from your amp should split from the woofer to the in-line crossover for the tweeters, then to the tweeter. The wire you need to connect them comes with the tweeters. A package of Posi-Products Wire Connectors will make the installation a breeze. The "Tap It" tap connectors for 16- to 18-gauge wire allow you to tap into wire without cutting or stripping. Hope that helps. George
[ PROFILE  Jul 27, 2015 ]
A
What I did was just tap a wire off your front speakers to the tweeters. If you have a powerful enough amp with the right wire you will be fine
[ Kyle  Jul 27, 2015 ]
A
They are wired in parallel with the midrange speaker, usually with a capacitor to block the low freq. BYW, these are best speakers ever! I have them in 3 of my cars and love them!
[ VITO  Jul 27, 2015 ]
A
That is because most of the time the tweeters are piggy backed off of the othe speakers. You will find that in most factory applications the door speaker wiring harness that plugs into the speaker has a split on it running to the plug for the tweeter, my girlfriends toyota avalon is wired like this. I actually havent wired the tweeters into her car yet, as it only needed new door speakers, the tweeters actually were an add on i did that got me a free pair of kicker headphones, which rock by the way!! You could also wire the tweeters from an amplifier if you feel the need but usually thats not necessary because of the small amount of power they draw compared to say a 4 inch door speaker. If you dont have tweeter wiring from factory you can just run a wire from the back of the speaker to the tweeter in series and you should be ok in doing so Hope this helps you!!! Have fun!!!
[ Shawn P.  Jul 27, 2015 ]
A
y car had tweeters alread i just wired into them. I have had a set that i bridged into my front speakers and they worked good. Got to adjust settingson the dock to not run bass through them.
