About the Kicker 46CSC654

The streamlined speaker

Kicker consistently prioritizes vehicle fit along with quality in their CS Series car speakers, making them among the most popular we sell. And better fit doesn't come at the cost of better sound — you'll find several cool innovations at work here. Kicker's low-protrusion tweeter, driven by a neodymium magnet, delivers your music's highs with control and clarity. And their UV-treated poly-foam surround equips this Kicker speaker for enduring performance no matter what extremes life in your car door brings.

Consistently solid sound

Kicker's 46CSC654 6-1/2" 2-way speaker serves up stellar sound using a polypropylene woofer for the lower frequencies and a PEI balanced dome tweeter for the highs. You'll get good results powering these speakers with a factory radio, but use an aftermarket car stereo or an outboard amp to enjoy classic Kicker quality with more detail and punch.

Product Research

Features

Polypropylene Woofer Cones: The Kicker CS-series speakers feature polypropylene woofer cones, resistant to moisture and the temperature extremes found in automotive applications.

Surrounds: The ribbed polyester foam surrounds allow extended cone excursion for additional bass output and higher SPL.

Balanced-Dome Tweeters: Each speaker uses a ½" PEI (polyetherimide) balanced-dome tweeter. A balanced dome tweeter has a dome placed inside a cone, with equal reproduction area given the cone and dome sections.

Mounting Applications: Kicker describes these speakers as 6½. With the extended mounting "ears" around the perimeter of the frame, they also fit many 6¾ locations. Because Kicker also makes a dedicated 6¾ in this series (item number 20646CC674) that is typically a better fit, we don't recommend the CSC65 for those applications.

Customer Q&A

6 questions already asked

Q
are these speakers as easy as take out old and plug in these , replace cover?
[ steven  Aug 17, 2019 ]
4 answers
A
Yes, using the kit that comes with the speaker. Took the door panel off, snapped out the old speaker, attached the mounting kit provided by Crutchfield, then attached the new speaker and put the door panel back on. You will have to drill mounting holes for the kit to attach to the door, but I just used self tapping metal screws. Put them in a 2007 Honda Accord.
[ Danny  Aug 19, 2019 ]
A
Yes! They are plug and play.
[ Javier  Aug 18, 2019 ]
A
Depends if you have the necessary space to put cover on... as far as plug in, Crutchfield provides vehicle specific wiring aslong as it is factory... you should be able to plug right in to your factory speaker wiring
[ Ninjamigs  Aug 18, 2019 ]
A
You need to be way more specific on your application. They will definitely fit if you take one of these out and put one in if that's your question.

Q
My head unit pits out 16 watts RMS. Will these speakers sound good without an amp?

A
I really don't know the answer to your question but I put these speakers in my Ram stock radio and they sound awesome
[ Jerry  Sep 15, 2019 ]
A
My head unit puts out 22 RMS and sound really, really good for the price. I would think you should be fine with 16 RMS.
[ Matthew L.  Aug 26, 2019 ]
A
I've got these paired with a Kenwood KMM-BT225U which has a built in amp. The head unit puts out 22 watts RMS, 50 peak. I would imagine they'd sound just fine, but probably wouldn't have a lot of punch. Sound quality should be good though, they're great speakers.

Q
How do you attach the speaker grills?
[ brisky86  Aug 07, 2019 ]

A
My truck comes with the grills/cover in the door panel so I didn't add the extra grills.
[ Trent  Aug 07, 2019 ]
A
I installed these on my 2018 tacoma and was not able to install them due to size and space.
[ Martin  Aug 07, 2019 ]
A
We just left them off
[ FDG  Aug 07, 2019 ]
A
Well, depends on install, I didn't use them because the speakers are behind the door panel. Guess if you cut out the door panel you attach them with the clips that the speakers come with the speakers

Q
Are these speakers loud? Will they be enough for a 2 seater car with a sub?
[ Deven  Jul 09, 2019 ]

A
Yes!
[ FDG  Aug 07, 2019 ]
A
I put them in a Hyundai Veloster behind the front seats. Stock everything else, stock sub. The car sounds 10x better than stock. Yes very loud

Q
Do they fit the the trunk speakers for a 2000 BMW 323i sedan?
[ Steve  May 02, 2019 ]

A
Sorry i'm not sure if they do, I have a 2008 Chevy Colorado crew cab. I replaced the front speakers with 6 3/4" Kickers and they fit like a champ just had to drill new holes.Later I found out the rears also use 6 3/4" speakers but I bought these 6 1/2" Kickers originally and I needed the adapter but had to trim the tags on it to make that adapter fit. I know it didn't exactly answer your question but maybe it'll help some with the sizing if anything. Good luck

A
Thats what's great about this website. If you look up your specific vehicle, it will bring you to all the speaker sizes and locations of that vehicle.

Q
do these produce bass also in the rear doors of a 2007 dodge ram 1500 Quad cab with the 7 speaker system and navigation?
[ Ruben  Apr 01, 2019 ]
4 answers
A
They produce bass but it all depend on your system and what you are running... my factory pioneers hit harder then these but I also do not have a separate 4 way amp for my door speakers... they are decent and Kicker is a solid company... My advice is to Get the Specs of your factory speakers and go for double or triple the numbers in RMS, OHMs and Sensitivity etc...
[ Ninjamigs  Apr 04, 2019 ]
A
Depends on the type of bass you are looking for. In short, yes. These speakers do produce a very adequate amount of bass for just being door speakers. However, your not going to get the sound and feel of a subwoofer out of substantially smaller speakers. But with your EQ dialed in just right I believe you would pleasantly surprised what these speakers will do. As far as rear to front doors there normally shouldn't be a difference as far as all 4 door speakers should be putting out the same amount of EQ value. Hope this helps!
[ Mitchell  Apr 01, 2019 ]
A
I have them in my front doors on my 19' ram classic, they produce some bass but it isn't like a subwoofer, however it is MUCH better than the stock ones.
[ Parnell  Apr 01, 2019 ]
A
I feel they do. They are really good speakers and have good quality sound. They will give some of the bass you want.
