This sub clocks in at less than 3" deep.

Built with boom in mind

The 40CWRT672 comes equipped with a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Made to work with many systems

This sub handles up to 150 watts RMS so make sure you've got a solid amp to power it. You can wire the dual voice coils for either 4- or 1-ohm total impedance, giving you more wiring options when setting up your system. This sub sounds great in a sealed enclosure.

Important Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for low impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. You can damage or destroy your amp by exceeding recommended minimum impedance.

Features

Dual 2-ohm Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2-ohm voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel the woofer presents a 1-ohm load. When the voice coils are wired in series the woofer presents a 4-ohm load.

Tinsel Leads: CompRT subwoofers use Spiralead tinsel-lead technology; the tinsel lead wires are woven into the spider to relieve mechanical stress.

Enclosure Compatibility

Shallow-Mount: Kicker's CompRT series is designed to minimize depth, giving you subwoofer options where standard enclosures don't fit. The vent-less, solid-pole design allows the woofer to be mounted directly against the rear wall of a sealed enclosure.

Recommended Enclosure: Kicker recommends a sealed enclosure for the 40CWRT672 (vented enclosures are not recommended):

I just installed this in my 2004 honda element with stock radio and the sub is making a rattling noise on most notes in songs while others behave well. I am inexperienced so I'm not sure if i wired it wrong (I put the wires the same way that they were on the stock sub) or if i just got a bad sub?

I have the same issue with just one...I am afraid its has a defect in it as it is wired correctly...just hate to take it out and pay and replace...

Will kenwood kdc-bt562u have enough power to drive this sub?

Most likely no since it's a duel coil sub. I I ended up using a mono kicker amp. placed under my dash. Works good, though you won't get really deep bass with this setup but saves space.

We mounted the unit as a replacement for the stock subwoofer in an '01 Wrangler. This is a dual coil unit and will require a minimum of 25 watts on each coil. I would not recommend it, as you will be dedicating two channels from your receiver to drive this sub. It is also very low impedance requiring same from your speakers. This would be very difficult to match. Get a small amp that can be well hidden nearby in the car. 80-100 watts of decent quality amp should do great. The stock Jeep amp in our Wrangler works great with this unit. Crutchfield can help you there.

The Kenwwod KDC-BT562u's Maximum Output Power is 50W x 4 so you should be safe using this Kicker Subwoofer. What you need to check is that your Amplifier is within the range they recommend (mono amplifier rated between 120 and 225 watts RMS at 4 ohms). I installed this subwoofer with an OEM amplifier on a 2008 Honda Element and it worked fine. The radio was aftermarket (can't remember the brand, it was for an old girlfriend). Great sound and bass. No issues at all except that the bass was too much for me. Find out the actual specs on your Amp, and go from there. Hope this helped you out.

Not sure if that is what it means Thomas. I wired it to a stock jeep amp that used a dual coil speaker and it works wonderful. sorry I could not be more help. good luck man.

The Subwoofer is set up with 2 ea. 2-ohm coils which dependent on your system could be wired in series at 4 ohm, or in parallel at 1 ohm. This is perfect for the wiring in a Jeep Wrangler as replacement for the factory sub, or in similar systems.

It may the bass may be better with the kicker but I'm notsure..this sub is dual voice coil so it may be too much for your factory amp plus it may require more power..I have 100w rms from a clarion aftermarket amp just for the sub depends on the enclosure too...may be worth a try though..if it doesn't sound good u can always return it..good luck

If you are only replacing the speaker and not adding an external amp, I would say not really. Any improvement will be slight at best. You would still be limited by the factory amp. You could try some polyfill in the stock sub enclosure first, but you will never really get deep or full bass out of such a smal sub and enclosure.

I have an 04 TJ which only had 4 speakers back then + sub, which was totally blown out. I replaced all and connected to a 5 channel amp. I used the 5 channel because I didn't want to give up the little "trunk" area that I actually had so it is neatly tucked in under the rear seat. The sub I specifically picked because it would fit in the arm rest area altho I had to dremel out the space for it inside as the OEM sub was much shallower. All in all, I am happy with the combo, I get a good punchy, but not overbearing base from the 6" without being obnoxious to all around me.

I have a versa 07 hacthback and I was wonder if I could replace the back door speakers with 2 of this little subs? I need more bass in my car. So I have been looking at these comprt 672 and even on the manufacturers site it list the minimum and maximum sealed box dimensions (.18 & .75 ft3) but it does list a dimensions spec for the .75 box nor does it discuss the tuned frequency response or anything for that box. Obviously the box would be tuned lower, but what is the optimum box for SQ using them as a sub and not a mid-bass?
