Kicker technology at work

This Comp sub features a flex-resistant polypropylene cone with 360-degree back bracing for hard-hitting lows without distortion. The ribbed foam surround promotes long excursion and keeps the cone on target, while double stitching ensures your investment won't come apart at the seams. A tough steel basket provides a reliable foundation for big bass, and its extensive venting ensures long-lasting performance that won't break down when the bass gets heavy.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 180 and 375 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

These subs hit harder than Mike Tyson and go lower than an emo kid's self-esteem. I put two of them in the back of my Ford Explorer.

Pros: Loud and deep

Cons: Can cause you to lose hearing if in the cabin of your car with you. Will blow out windows if you let them get to rowdy.

Great Sound, Great Price

Got one as a gift about a month and a half ago and I must say I am very surprised at how low and hard this thing hits. I am using it in a small sealed enclosure pushing it with 200 watts rms. Do NOT crank it during the first 2 weeks. Give it time to break in and you will be very happy with the sound.

Pros: Qreat quality sub for a low price. Works in a wide range of sealed and ported enclosures.

Cons: None.

Product Research

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring-loaded, nickel-plated terminals provide solid connections for speaker wire up to 10-gauge. Single banana plugs and pin connectors will also fit.

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation.

Sealed Enclosure Applications: Kicker recommends sealed enclosure volumes from 2.25 ft³ to 5 ft³. Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer, will handle a lot of power, and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable for all types of music.

Ported Enclosure Applications: Kicker recommends ported enclosure volumes from 3 ft³ to 4 ft³. Slot port dimensions are given in the manual for the minimum enclosure volume (15-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 17") and the maximum enclosure volume (15-1/2" x 3" x 16-1/4"). Ported (or vented) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed, so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. However, this efficiency comes at the expense of very low frequency output.
