About the Kicker CompVT 43CVT102
Bass for your space
Bass for your space
Just because you have limited space doesn't mean you have to do without bass. Kicker designed their CompVT Series 43CVT102 10" subwoofer to deliver powerful performance from a shallow enclosure, great for pickups or other vehicles with limited space.
Zone for the cone
This single voice coil subwoofer features a specially-designed reinforced cone to pump out impressive lows while maintaining a top-mount depth of only 4-1/4". And with the included clearance plate, the sub can sit in a recess in the back of the enclosure, letting you make a thin box even thinner. The basket's full perimeter venting and UniPlate™ back plate and pole piece keep things cool, supplying outstanding thermal management in a thin sub.
Power handling and flexibility
This sub handles up to 350 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing, while its 2-ohm impedance draws more power from your mono amp. This versatile sub works well in sealed or ported enclosures.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 225 and 700 watts RMS at 2 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Kicker CompVT 43CVT102 reviews
Great sounding subwoofer that completely fills the cab of my 4 door Gord Super Duty with plenty to spare. Using a JL 300 rms class D for power at less than 3/4 gain. Fits in the custom made box behind the rear seat at approximately .7 cubic feet before subtracting the volume of the sub itself. Hopefully this review helps someone choose the same woofer. I bought it as a scratch and dent but could not find a single scratch anywhere. Perfect condition in original packaging.
Pros: Great sound!

I have two of these subs in my 2007 Ram mounted under the back seat in a pre-fab box. A kicker amp pushing them. All I can say is, magnificent. I listen to jazz, country, and rock. Best investment I ever made!

Good sub. I built a behind the back seat box in cargo area of my 17 Jeep wrangler jkur with around 1 c/ft. Air space, sealed box. Had a 5 channel RP amp with 300 watts at 2ohms to sub and it hit hard. It blew a rear channel in 2 weeks. No more Amos. So I bought a Kenwood that had 500 watts to that channel from Crutchfield but haven't got it yet. Should work well with low gain. I play mostly rock at moderately high volume and the bass on this sub hits hard and tight. Relatively accurate sounding. For the price I recommend it for sure. My last kicker 8 lasted six years and was still going strong. I didn't need a monster sub but I got a lot of bass out of this one, it surprised me.

I've owned a pair of these shallow mount subs for about 10 years when one stopped working I decided to replace them both and as I expected they sound great

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation. The boot is removable if needed for tight installations.
Break-in Period: The high-performance suspension system makes the speaker very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately 2 weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.
Shallow-Mount: Kicker's new CVT series is designed to minimize depth, giving you subwoofer options where standard enclosures don't fit. The solid-pole design allows the woofer to be mounted directly against the rear wall of a sealed enclosure. The spring-loaded binding posts are mounted parallel to the cone surface to minimize depth. Also the steel Clearance Plate enables you to cut out part of the back of the enclosure to create more room for the woofer magnet, subtracting the enclosure wall depth from the equation.
Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 0.8 ft³ to 3.0 ft³.
Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Kicker recommends ported enclosures in the following range:
- Minimum Enclosure Volume: 1.25 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2" x 20" slot port
- Maximum Enclosure Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 20" slot port
