Zone for the cone

This single voice coil subwoofer features a specially-designed reinforced cone to pump out the lows while maintaining a top-mount depth of only 4-1/4". And with the included clearance plate the sub can sit in a recess in the back of the enclosure, letting you make a thin box even thinner. The basket's full perimeter venting and UniPlate™ back plate and pole piece keep things cool, supplying outstanding thermal management in a thin sub.

Power handling and flexibility

This sub handles up to 350 watts RMS to bring out the depth your music's been missing. This versatile sub works well in sealed or ported enclosures.

To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 250 and 700 watts RMS at 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

I was limited on space in the back of my Jeep and now have two of these and could not be happier. They sound amazing in the enclosed box that I built and have taken a beating while going off-road. Still sound as good as the day I installed them after a year.

From what I had seen I knew this subwoofer was good, but I didn't know how good. I put two of these subs into my Ford F-150 and I was amazed my the amount of bass this slim sub provides. It definitely exceeded my expectations. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone who wants big bass for a moderate price.

Pros: Slim sub, with great bass.

Product Research

Features

Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation. The boot is removable if needed for tight installations.

Break-in Period: The high-performance suspension system makes the speaker very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately 2 weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Shallow-Mount: Kicker's new CVT series is designed to minimize depth, giving you subwoofer options where standard enclosures don't fit. The solid-pole design allows the woofer to be mounted directly against the rear wall of a sealed enclosure. The spring-loaded binding posts are mounted parallel to the cone surface to minimize depth. Also the steel Clearance Plate enables you to cut out part of the back of the enclosure to create more room for the woofer magnet, subtracting the enclosure wall depth from the equation.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 0.8 ft³ to 3.0 ft³.

Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Kicker recommends ported enclosures in the following range:

  • Minimum Enclosure Volume: 1.25 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2" x 20" slot port
  • Maximum Enclosure Volume: 1.75 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 2-1/2" x 20" slot port
