I had not purchased new Subs in over a decade. I have old school Kicker and Fosgate top of the line gear. Kicker Solo rounds S15D's and also Rockford Power HX2 15"s, in pairs, among many others. I have ALWAYS ran single or dual 15" set ups. These new subs, especially for the 12"s I have, are the lowest hitting subs I have ran. I have them in 1.25ft3 sealed each with only 350-400 watts a piece and they are super low, super clear (I run very low distortion, high power, ClassAB amps), and get plenty loud! There are louder subs out there for sure BUT for the price I paid, $250 each, the value is unquestionable. If you are on the fence, gets these while you can. Best deal on high quality subs I've seen in awhile. I'm sure they would be even more rowdy in a ported set up. I can not attest that since I run sealed enclosures only. It's a pity there are out of the matching grills. I probably wouild have bought two more and ran 4 12"s. I am that impressed with them.
Pros: EXCELLENT low end extrension with proper EQ (probably my set up) INCREDIBLE sound quality UNBEATABLE price point at $250 Sealed/Ported-you can go SQ or SPL or meet in the middle
Cons: Smaller Voice Coil than I prefer, but proof is in the install RMS watts 850, but good for a 12" Deep install depth required

I've always been a JL Audio Fan. I took a risk based on a good recommendation and bought this subwoofer. The box requirement is larger than I would have liked, but man this sub is awesome! No regrets at all. Have it running on a 600 watt amp in a 2.5 cu. ft ported enclosure and it bumps! It's incredible.

I have a pair of these in a custom built sealed down firing enclosure in a 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport & whew; powered by a JL Audio JX 1000/1D; excellent, deep, rich bass! Compare their prices to Rockford Power series or JL's W6 or W7 series. I think these are a win win for the price. Kicker is legendary.

I have had this Kicker Q-Class 42CWQ122 For almost 2 years running a IX 1000.1 in a 3.8 cu. Ft. Ported box. I have never had a single problem with it. It is very accurate and musical for the lower frequencies which I will say it still has quite a bit of SPL for 1 sub. Since I've gotten older I'm more into SQ and left the SPL scene since I don't want to rattle my car apart any longer so I just purchased a second one and plan to make it a dual sealed setup for a more linear profile and accuracy. People can say what they want but performance wise I can put this on par with a R-Fosgate t112 since I also had one of those with nearly the same setup. Only slight downside I noticed was I feel the Fosgate could take the upwards of the RMS a little better than the Kicker... But neckand neck up until that point. Also have to consider the price point... Sorry RF
