Kicker CompRT 43CWRT672
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
Perfect replacement for my factory sub on my wrangler, fit perfect on the center console.
If you're looking for bass for a tight space, Kicker designed their CompRT subs with compact cars, pickup trucks, and ATVs in mind. The low-profile 43CWRT672 6-3/4” subwoofer performs just like a full-size sub, but without killing all your cargo space. This high-performance CompRT sub stands less than 3" tall, so your installation options are wide open.
The 43CWRT672 comes equipped with a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.
This sub handles up to 150 watts RMS so make sure you've got a solid amp to power it. You can wire the dual voice coils for either 4- or 1-ohm total impedance, giving you more wiring options when setting up your system. This sub sounds great in a sealed enclosure.
Important Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for low impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. You can damage or destroy your amp by exceeding recommended minimum impedance.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 120 and 225 watts RMS at 1 or 4 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.
Direct swap for the factory subwoofer. Definently brought the bass up a notch.

Perfect replacement for my factory sub on my wrangler, fit perfect on the center console.
Direct swap for the factory subwoofer. Definently brought the bass up a notch.
Pros: Direct fit into factory mount.
Cons: No cons.
So I bought this sub on a recommendation. My SAAB wagon had a blown sub. I wanted to keep factory look. I took a chance and bought this one. It worked out great. It mounted in factory enclosure with very little work. It sounded good with factory amp, but I wanted a little more. I added an Audio control ACM-1.300 micro amp and now it really shines. I highly recommend anyone with a SAAB wagon to replace the old, worn out sub with one of these. You won't be disappointed.
Pros: Great price, fit and performance. Also flexibility of two different DVC options.
Cole recommended this subwoofer as a replacement to the factory sub that was blown in my 2004 Jeep Wrangler. After a little modification to the box this thing sounds great even with the factory amp. Very pleased with this product.
Replaced my busted factory subwoofer in my 2005 jeep tj today and wow this little speaker sounds amazing! Great price and fairly fast shipping. Wish they would have added screws with it but I had some laying around no big deal. Will definitely buy from this company again.
Pros: Solid well built speaker, easy insulation, sounds amazing
Cons: Didn't come with screws
Great replacement for factory subwoofer, 2004 Honda Element!
Awesome replacement for subwoofer in Jeep Renegade. A little tricky to replace, but most definitely worth it.
Pros: Far better than factory sub in Jeep Renegade and greatly enhances system (especially if you change out the mid range speakers in dash).
Cons: Replacement is not easy. Option 1, follow instructions provided by Crutchfield, which requires quite a bit of work. Option two, remove the speaker grill and work your butt off squeezing the new speaker in. If I had it to do again, I follow the Crutchfield steps. My guess is, it would be the same amount of time and probably a heck of a lot less frustrating.
This is a great sounding subwoofer! it replaced the factory one in my Jeep perfectly , and other than the great sound you cannot tell that Crutchfield's install team was ever there!
Good replacement for an '04 Land Cruiser factory sub--very limited options since it's a 2 ohm system and a small diameter opening in the factory subwoofer box, and this is perfectly adequate. Not mind-blowing--cannot handle some Portishead songs at all--but an enormous improvement on the utterly trashed factory speaker, and seems very reasonably priced.
Awesome. Fit great into 2001 Jeep Wrangler Factory Sub Location in center console. Actually very surprised by the clarity and performance of the speaker just being driven by factory head unit.
Sounds great and works well, would have given 5 stars except for the fact it was suppose to fit the Wrangler and I had to shave the box down because of the depth of the speaker. It was about a 1/8" too deep.
This is a solid replacement sub from the factory center console in my '02 Wrangler. With a decent amp, it produces a solid sound to round out the system.
Great fit for 2011 volvo xc90
These speakers are worth every penny.still in shock, these speakers are mini subs.
Pros: Easy installation.
Cons: Sound good but sounds even better with amp.
Great little sub! Fit perfect in 06 Jeep Wrangler. Would definitely buy again! Customer Service was awesome and the directions made this a breeze.
Great Subwoofer n 4 kickers 5.25 speakers I ordered for my 2003 Jeep Wrangler fits without any cutting perfect fit. Specially the customer service techs they help out to the end great service and company. I will be back soon. thank you BUZZY N LARRY very helpful. wish other companies had guys like Larry n Buzzy.
Pros: Easy installation it was my first time.
Cons: to be honest none.
Good tone. A little to easy to overdrive at 1ohm. Works better at 2ohms.
Pros: Sturdy. Good tone.
Cons: Could come with cushioned mounting ring, overloads easy at 1ohm.
Great ?? Product
Pros: Fits like a glove. No problems with installing.
Sounds great but required a lot of cutting of the factory 2003 Jeep TJ center console enclosure. This speaker is much deeper than original. I used a Dremel with cutting blade to reach in the box. The good news is, I got it to fit without cutting through the enclosure therefore maintaining the integrity.
Pros: Sounds Great
Cons: Requires modifying enclosure, about one hour time and cutting tools.
This Kicker subwoofer was a great addition to upgrading the speakers in our 2003 Honda Element. We are getting great bass out of this low, center console speaker. As for installation for this particular vehicle it required drilling new holes as the original ones didn't line up. Aside from that, it was a good installation, and for a DIY person like myself, no serious issues were present. Thanks to Crutchfield!
Pros: easy install great sound
Perfect upgrade for my Jeep Wrangler TJ. Installation was easy with instructions from Crutchfield. Highly recommended!
Pros: Sound improvement
I put this sub in back in March of this year after the factory one had disintegrated. It is working great and sounds as good or better than the factory sub. I'm no audiophile, but heck, we are driving with no top or doors on the jeep so it definitely works great for our needs and we didn't have to add any amps or re-wire anything. I did put polyfill in the enclosure as well as the soundbar. You do have to trim some of the plastic off the sub itself as well as some of the plastic in the back of the enclosure on a jeep TJ to get it to fit. My system is a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X898 with Kenwood Excelon KFC-X133 in sound bar and Kenwood Excelon KFC-X463C in dash. All bought in 2014 from Crutchfield with the installation kits and everything is working great together. The stereo system sounds way better now than it ever did from the factory. I always recommend Crutchfield to my friends because they have good prices and complete installation kits with the systems they sell. I have bought several systems in the last decade and all are working great. And no I don't work for them, I'm just a long time satisfied customer.
Pros: Works and Sounds great with factory amp
Cons: Have to do some plastic trimming to get it to fit.
I didn't like them, running off a 250/1 I had 2 dual voice coil 2 ohm speakers each running in series (4 ohm load) then bridged to get a 2 ohm load. One speaker froze and the other has a crackling problem, both I believe are defective. Sadly I had thrown out the packing material so I will chalk it up to my mistake for buying a kicker product and deal with the loss of the money that was spent on them.
Cons: Weak sound, cheaply built, super low power , waste of time to make a box, waste of time to install, just over all very disappointing.
Excellent replacement of the Jeep Renegade factory rear Beats sub-woofer. Entire process took a little over an hour due to all the panel removals but it sounds so much better now. Master sheet was extremely helpful on the installation.
With a little bit of work I made it fit and I couldn't be happier! The price was right too!
Pros: More than I expected. I couldn't compare it with the OE speaker because I bought the Wrangler with a blown sub woofer!
Cons: Not a CON but I had to do a bit of cutting in the original spot to make it fit! It was a bit deeper than the old speaker.
I was hoping for a little more out of them
For what it is (6 3/4" subwoofer) it does a decent job, I have one of these in my titan and recently purchased a second and a bigger amp which i haven't installed. If space is limited or you just wanna do something different, buy one. Just don't expect ground shaking bass!! It's a baby!
Pros: Small, different, kicker
Cons: Not crazy loud (expected)
Direct fit for the factory subs in my 2005 GTO.
Deep tight bass. Worth every dollar. Installed two of these baby's under my rear seat. Best bang for your buck. Made an mdf box to spec. Rocked my 2005 Chevy Silverado, ran a cool 75 watt rms to each sub.
Pros: : compact size : dual coil : deep bass : affordable
2004 Jeep Wrangler fits a little tight, but worth it. Ordered a second for my 2001 Jeep Wrangler
Cons: Couldn't use existing screws
Worked amazing in my 2005 Jeep Tj! Sounds way better than stock
Ok at best. Nothing to write home about...
Pros: Worked out for my Lexus gx470 with some wiring involved.
Cons: Not worth the price
Great match for TJ. Minor modification needed to fit the depth of the speaker. Probably could use some more power as it is overpowered by 5 1/2 roll-bar speakers. Not sure what to expect from this size of a sub so it is hard to give more than 4 stars.
Pros: Upgrade from factory unit. Easy to install, looks great, sounds great, and appears to be well made. Will see how it holds up over time.
Cons: may need more power
After a few trims on my factory sub box this item fit right in on my 2005 Jeep Wrangler TJ
Perfect compact replacement amp. If your looking for a drop in tj factory replacement this is perfect. Almost no mods required.
Sounds great in 2006 Jeep Tj with factory amp
I was able to install this myself in my 1995 Range Rover County Classic. When I opened my RRC's sub box, the old sub was completely disintegrated, so no wonder it was so faint before I replaced it. It's hard to find a sub this small, and it would be ideal to get something larger, but to fit in the original space, this does the trick. It definitely adds punch to the sound system that I am slowly rebuilding. It was a little disappointing that this did not come with adapter rings or screws/washers/nuts to assist with installation, or even installation instructions with recommended sizes and numbers of screws/nuts/washers (it takes eight of each). I had to make a trip to the hardware store to assemble washers, nuts and machine screws to put it all together inside the OEM subwoofer box in the back of the truck. It wasn't pretty, but it's all hidden inside my RRC's sub box, so it works well enough.
Pros: Fits; neat and compact
Cons: Small, lacking fitment parts and adapters, no instructions.
Great speaker. Easy to install in 2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ sport. Had to clear out some plastic in the center console due to depth - easy to do. Screwed it in and got the wires right (in phase). Sounds good. No rattle and hiss like a stock speaker.
Replaced my sub in my 06 Jeep Wrangler with this and sounds great! Had to make my own holes but it was no big deal!
Pros: Looks good sounds good
Bought to replace factory subwoofer in 2005 jeep wrangler. Speaker sounds excellent hooked with aftermarket stereo. Speaker does fit, however you do have to modify bottom of factory speaker box, for speaker to set flush.
Replaced the non existent bass from the Bose sub in a Chevy Volt for this small speaker. It has all the bass output you need for a small car. Highly recommended!
Pros: Output. Good design.
Ordered for my 05 Wrangler Unlimited. Fits perfect in the factory sub box with a little trimming on the back side to make up the extra mounting depth. Put a small amp with it and this sounds like some 8s and 10s on certain notes. Won't set any sound records but it's miles above the factory sub
Perfect upgrade from my factory sub that packs a punch! I replaced the blown sub for the center console of my 2001 Jeep Wrangler. I did have to do some minor trimming to the console enclosure to make it fit, but it was totally worth it for the sound this a Kicker produces.
Pros: A lot of thumping sound for such a small sub.
Installed in sail panel of 96 trans am. Sound very good. Used amp to power them. Great way to get good sound with no sub box
Pros: Great sound for small sub. Powerful
Very good sub! Bought it to fit a 15' civic, turns out it doesn't fit in the car but the subwoofer is so small and compact that you can put it anywhere without sacrificing a lot of space
Just Installed this earlier today and it sounds amazing! I replaced my blown factory sub and used the old factory amp, wiring and harness. The middle consol did need a bit of trimming, just used some pliers and plastic bits came right off. I watched a couple YouTube videos and worked like a charm. Just remember which wires are positive and negative before disconnecting old sub and you're good to go. It's nice to finally have some bass back in my car, I'll definitely be getting a new amp down the line to get the full power of this sub! Oh and save yourself a trip to the hardware store and buy the recommended hardware since the only thing included is the sub.
Pros: Sounds amazing for compact sub No additional wiring or amp need for Jeep Wrangler TJ
Cons: Factory sub box needed trimming (I knew this before hand so not really a big deal and not hard at all to do)
Got these for my 05 Sequoia. The front door woofers blew and with a little fab from the old speakers these fit perfect. Sound great! Nothing crazy but they are better than the factory ones it had, and they punch pretty good with the factory amp but an aftermarket one wouldn't hurt!
Pros: Perfect fit Better than the factory JBL's They were on sale
Awesome speaker. Awesome service. Easy install. Worked good for a jeep tj sub woofer replacement for the stock one that is junk. Sounds great. Gonna buy dash speakers next from you guys. Thanks
Pros: Easy install
Nice clear sweet bass no matter what I play. Easy to install and the price was great
Pros: Price and sound
I replaced the stock sub in my 2016 Jeep Renegade with this Kicker CompRT sub, and I was immediately impressed. The installation process was easy and the Crutchfield team provided excellent support. I could not have been more satisfied with this purchase. Do not let its size fool you, this Kicker definitely packs a punch! I would highly recommend this subwoofer.
Great speaker for the price!
Hard hitting little speaker. Would buy again.
The Crutchfield team was very helpful in selecting the correct sub for my car and application. They took the time to research and discuss all available options and not just rush to the next caller. They are very knowledgable with all their products.
Hands down worth the money. Way louder than I would've expected, nice tight bass responses. Takes up little room.
Pros: Tight accurate bass, takes up little space, big things come in little packages.
Cons: Now I'm wondering if I should've gotten the 8".
Others must think this is a great product too - I wanted to order another one, and it is now out of stock. Not surprising, as it is a great sub at a very nice price.
Pros: Nice, deep sound, not just a box-shaker. All in a compact package.
Cons: It ran out of stock too quickly.
Installed this in a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. It went in the center console/armrest. This was one of the few subs that would fit in that space with little to no modifications. I still had to grind away some plastic but nothing major. I'm still getting it tuned in but so far it sounds great. I'm a rock/metal guy so I've got it tuned for quick punch bass, not boomy rattle-your-license plate-bass.
Pros: Easy to install Several configuration options Good for rock/metal
Cons: None so far
Great little sub. Had a crappy roadmaster one. It pooped out. Swapped this one. It hits twice as hard and has much better highs. I recommend this product. Also the shipping for it was i'd say about average. No hassle though. Ordered it couple days later shows up i'd buy again from this website for sure..PS the sub in my single cab ranger is a bazooka tube
I've only had the speakers installed in my car for about two weeks and so far they have lived up to the billing. So yes I like them and would buy more " Kicker " product in the future.
Bought this compact Kicker following extensive research about replacing the old compact sub in my BMW Z3. The original compact Kicker recommended was no longer available so I chose to purchase this slightly larger model. Other than needing to build a custom sealed enclosure for it the existing wiring was plug and play for the dual cone setup. For the size and space this compact sub really fills out the audio quality in a way that I enjoy. Not overpowering but clean and punchy.
Big sound from a small package. The 6.75" 2ohm sub was blown in my Land Cruiser, so I experimented with the 2ohm Kicker Comp RT. I chose this model because this is a shallow mount sub, its 2ohm and has more than enough RMS rating available to be driven by my stock factory system. Thankfully it fit the factory sub box opening very well, and the cleared the back side of the box. The only mod's needed are a few new mounting holes need to be made to screw the sub into the box and trimming some of the grill fins to make some room for the front of the speaker and all that's pretty darn easy. I didn't install a new amp- just plugged the new sub directly to the factory wiring and utilized the factory JBL amp. The spring loaded connectors on the Kicker ComRT make this about as easy as it can be. Result: Sounds sooo.. much better, and while a 6.75" sub doesn't pack a huge thump like a 10" or 12" sub, it gets the job done very nicely, much better than the stock sub. There are some lower cost options as far a sub's go, but you really can't beat the quality and features on the Kicker product.
This is a good subwoofer and really hits hard. However I suggest avoiding mounting it in the door if it is listed as an option for your vehicle as it was for mine. Even with a moderate amount of sound proofing material I was unable to get rid of all the vibrations and it did not produce good quality bass. The door is just not the best place to mount a sub-woofer in my opinion. Eventually I returned it for a single 10" sub in a sealed box. Crutchfield customer service is second to none. I can not say enough good things about their customer service!
I purchased this speaker as a replacement for the subwoofer in my 2001 SAAB 9-5 wagon. It is a drop in replacement, dual voice coil just like the original, and sounds great. The price was right and the installation was straight forward and easy.
These sub woofers have a great sound that adds to the Monsoon head unit in my Firebird. The service that I received from the Sales Rep at Crutchfield and the product they recommended was excellent. Although I don't drive the car on a regular basis, I know that when I do the KICKER sub woofers will be ready to deliver the sound I am looking for. Great company, looking forward to upgrade the rest of the speakers with Crutchfield's assistance.
Very easy to replace subwoofer in Honda Element just had to drill new screw holes. The grill pops right off and the old speaker unscrews and unplugs easily. The new speaker sounds instantly at least 200% better than the stock one and can handle a lot more volume. Great!
Sounds good, but contrary to internet info, was not as simple to hack into my Jeep TJ center console (Crutchfield said it was not a direct fit, and they were correct). Had to make a spacer ring to keep the basket "grilles" from hitting the OEM box molded edge, and shim the console side out to keep from touching the speaker surround on excursion. Not too difficult. Beats the ragged out OEM paper cone.
I love this sub woofer, it works well in me keep consol

Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.
Shallow-Mount: Kicker's CompRT series is designed to minimize depth, giving you subwoofer options where standard enclosures don't fit. The vent-less, solid-pole design allows the woofer to be mounted directly against the rear wall of a sealed enclosure.
All-Weather: Although not marine certified, Kicker describes the CompRT series as weatherproof.
Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 0.18 ft³ to 0.75 ft³.

Those would be a pretty good match. You would wire the Kicker 43CWRT672 subwoofer in parallel down to 1 ohm. That Kicker 42PXA2001 amp is pushing 100 watts at 1 ohm - right in the middle of the recommended 50 - 150 range of the sub. Sorry, no. You'll need an aftermarket amplifier to power the 43CWRT672 properly. We recommend a minimum of 80 watts RMS per woofer. I don't know about fitment in your vehicle, but yes you do need an amp. I have these in the rear doors of my Chevy Avalanche and they would do much better if they had an enclosure, the doors have too much air space, these subs only want about a cubic foot sealed box space. I'm running a 300 watt mono kicker subwoofer amp to 2 of these subs model cxa300.1 [ Adam Sep 13, 2018 ]
No, these won't fit in your front doors. They could fit on your rear deck with a lot of cutting but would not recommend it. These are subwoofers and are designed to be installed into a sealed subwoofer box to produce lower frequency bass notes. [ Ken Aug 16, 2018 ]
Dont know, I put it in the center console of. TJ [ JAMEE Aug 16, 2018 ]
I don't know about the exact fit, but I do know that you need to enclose these in a small box to get the best output. They are not going to work the way you want if they are free air. Unless you have some major space concerns, I wouldn't use these as a first choice. A good set of component speakers with good amplification gives you close to as much midbass but not quite as much lower bass output as these do if they don't have the right enclosure. If I had the choice I'd get some 8 inch subs in a sealed box with good power for some really tight fast bass if that's what you're after. Solid front stage, some rear-fill, or skip the rear-fill, have a really solid front stage and entirely remove the rear speakers (leave the grills} and use that empty space as a port to let the bass from your box in the trunk come into the car. Just my two cents. [ Adam Aug 11, 2018 ]
It depends, if the size is the same then it should fit right in although you may have to cut the wires and attach them to the new sub. [ DENA Apr 20, 2018 ]
Yes, however, it will need an amp for better performance. [ ETAzero Feb 21, 2018 ]
I would. Not recommend them for that [ Anthony Feb 21, 2018 ]
Yes definitely a great upgrade from the stock speakers. [ Alex Feb 21, 2018 ]
Youll have to check to see if they will replace the factory sub. But the sound quality is much greater then factory. [ DENA Feb 21, 2018 ]
It will vibrate the hell out of your door and still hardly puts out any bass [ Anthony Nov 13, 2017 ]

Much depends on the the number (single or dual) and impedance of the stock sub's voice coil(s) and the wattage of the factory amp. The Kicker has a minimum recommended wattage of 80 RMS so, most factory amplifiers will not be enough to power it properly. Absolutely! Its a great speaker. It's only a little bit of modifying of the enclosure to make it work. Quick work with a dremel tool does the trick. It's plug and play. I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport and I love the upgrade. My originals were blown and crumbled when i took them out. I would definitely buy this again. [ Bryan Oct 01, 2017 ]
If you don't want any bass they would be great mid range not good subwoofer [ Anthony Oct 01, 2017 ]
Yes this fits and works however I added a Kicker amplifier to it and bypassed completely the internal system because it is underpowered for such a better sub. It will work but use the 43CWRT671 one ohm per voice coil speaker if you want to keep the factory amplifier. It has to be 1 ohm per voice coil if you want enough output to drive it at any volume. The original Jeep sub is 1 ohm per voice coil so it will match up. Id submit a picture but you can go to wranglertjforum and search for my article on the change out for pictures of how it looks after installation, RangerRick. [ Rick Oct 01, 2017 ]
Yes, you will be pleased with this over the factory sub. [ Keith Oct 01, 2017 ]

Are you using this woofer? If so I believe so. [ Edson Apr 02, 2017 ]
The 43CWRT672 is actually a smallish sub woofer. Not sure that it would be the best choice for a full range speaker, and my have fitment issues in a rear door (unless specifically listed to fit). It's pretty deep for it's diameter and has baffles around the basket that might hinder fitment. Are your sure it will fit? If so, I recommend some kind of amplifier, be it an OEM sub amp or aftermarket. (I installed it in the center console of my Jeep TJ driven by the OEM amp). [ Kevin Apr 01, 2017 ]
You will most likely want an Amp with this speaker to get the best sound. [ David Mar 31, 2017 ]
I have a amp hooked to mine and it is a bit much. Unless you need a dual voice coil, this full sub woofer has a lot of base. I am questioning why you want these a door speaker when a good coaxial speaker would seem more appropriate. Good Luck [ SCOTT Mar 31, 2017 ]

150 watts per coil. 300 max. [ Alex Dec 02, 2016 ]
Thanks for your question. This is for one (1) subwoofer only. You can find this information on the product page under "What's in the Box". Hope that helps. [ Kenny Nov 07, 2016 ] Staff
This is a subwoofer only and would require a amp with a subwoofer crossover. This is not a full range door speaker. [ JIMMY Oct 14, 2016 ]
