About the Kicker CompRT 43CWRT672

A thin sub with fat bass

If you're looking for bass for a tight space, Kicker designed their CompRT subs with compact cars, pickup trucks, and ATVs in mind. The low-profile 43CWRT672 6-3/4” subwoofer performs just like a full-size sub, but without killing all your cargo space. This high-performance CompRT sub stands less than 3" tall, so your installation options are wide open.

Built with boom in mind

The 43CWRT672 comes equipped with a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Made to work with many systems

This sub handles up to 150 watts RMS so make sure you've got a solid amp to power it. You can wire the dual voice coils for either 4- or 1-ohm total impedance, giving you more wiring options when setting up your system. This sub sounds great in a sealed enclosure.

Important Note: If you are wiring this DVC sub for low impedance, make sure that your amp is compatible. You can damage or destroy your amp by exceeding recommended minimum impedance.

Product Research

Features

Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 2Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Shallow-Mount: Kicker's CompRT series is designed to minimize depth, giving you subwoofer options where standard enclosures don't fit. The vent-less, solid-pole design allows the woofer to be mounted directly against the rear wall of a sealed enclosure.

All-Weather: Although not marine certified, Kicker describes the CompRT series as weatherproof.

Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Kicker recommends sealed enclosures from 0.18 ft³ to 0.75 ft³.

Q
Will these fit in my 2011 ford taurus sho with Sony system and navigation?
[ Brian  Oct 05, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
Hi Brian, thank you for your quesiton! We have measured your trunk area, and have found that you have the ability to fit a sub box with the following measurements: 40", Height = 20", Depth (front-to-rear)= 20" at bottom, 20" at top. A custom installer should be able to assist you with building a box that would house the sub, and stay within the measurements we have listed for your Taurus. Feel free to chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, if you would like more info!

Not sure but I would put them in a custom box for best performance. run your amp low so sub can heat up and break in properly. Nice sub

Q
I have a Buick Encore 2016 and I was just wondering if I could replace the stock speakers with these speakers to maybe get more bass would it mess up the system or would it be a quick easy installment?
[ Ricky  Sep 14, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
We won't tell you it's impossible to put those in the doors but it would certainly not be an easy replacement and they would definitely need more power than the factory amp can supply. An easier option to add bass would likely be adding a separate amp/sub in a different location. If you want to explore those options let us know!

Q
Hi, I want to install the Kicker CompRT 43CWRT672 on my 2017 Civic EX-T Sedan lower front doors. I'm looking for plug and play, will a Metra 72-7800 wiring harness work? Thanks in advance
[ Robert  Sep 08, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
Robert, there will be no plug and play, and also you will likely need an amp to power those small subs, as your factory system will not drive them very well at all. I would recommend you get in touch with one of our advisors to discuss what you are wanting to accomplish in your vehicle. https://www.crutchfield.com/support/ContactUs.aspx

Q
Will this replace my beats sub in my 16 renegade?
[ Mike  Sep 02, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
This is not designed to be used as a replacement for door speakers. the impedances are wrong, and it is a dual voice coil subwoofer with low sensitivity, and high power needs. This would be better suited being used with a monoblock amp. You should reach out to one of our advisors for more personalized help! https://www.crutchfield.com/support/ContactUs.aspx

[ Tai  Jun 19, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
Thank you for your question! The Kicker CompRT 43CWRT672 is not designed to be used in an infinite-baffle setup. Kicker does recommend a sealed enclosures from 0.18 ft³ to 0.75 ft³. If you would like to check out options that would allow you to use an infinite-baffle, chat with an Advisor online, or give us a call at 1-800-324-9695. If I wired this as a 1 ohm OR a 2 ohm for a GM factory MONSOON system in a 2005 Pontiac Vibe as a replacement subwoofer would the OEM amplifier handle be stable or would I need to install an aftermarket amplifier?

I can't say if it'll work with your monsoon amplifier, but in my 98 firebird trans am the monsoon amplifier is powering two of these at 2 ohms without any issues.

Q
Does the Kicker 43CWRT672 pair well with Kicker 42PXA2001 and should the sub be wired series or parallel with the amp?
[ Derek  Nov 24, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
Those would be a pretty good match. You would wire the Kicker 43CWRT672 subwoofer in parallel down to 1 ohm. That Kicker 42PXA2001 amp is pushing 100 watts at 1 ohm - right in the middle of the recommended 50 - 150 range of the sub. [ Nathan  Oct 03, 2018 ]

You can see if they are a recommended option for your vehicle by using the "Find What Fits" application on the main Crutchfield website: https://www.crutchfield.com/car/carselector.aspx?lp=%2fCar%2foutfitmycar%2fmycar.aspx If your stereo has a mono subwoofer output, yes, you'll likely need to use an RCA Y adapter to connect it to the left/right stereo input of an amplifier. I don't know about fitment in your vehicle, but yes you do need an amp. I have these in the rear doors of my Chevy Avalanche and they would do much better if they had an enclosure, the doors have too much air space, these subs only want about a cubic foot sealed box space. I'm running a 300 watt mono kicker subwoofer amp to 2 of these subs model cxa300.1

Q
DWill these fit my 2012 Honda Civic EX sedan, the front door /reAr deck?
[ Romeo6281  Aug 11, 2018 ]
3 answers
A
No, these won't fit in your front doors. They could fit on your rear deck with a lot of cutting but would not recommend it. These are subwoofers and are designed to be installed into a sealed subwoofer box to produce lower frequency bass notes.
[ Ken  Aug 16, 2018 ]
A
Dont know, I put it in the center console of. TJ
[ JAMEE  Aug 16, 2018 ]
A
I don't know about the exact fit, but I do know that you need to enclose these in a small box to get the best output. They are not going to work the way you want if they are free air. Unless you have some major space concerns, I wouldn't use these as a first choice. A good set of component speakers with good amplification gives you close to as much midbass but not quite as much lower bass output as these do if they don't have the right enclosure. If I had the choice I'd get some 8 inch subs in a sealed box with good power for some really tight fast bass if that's what you're after. Solid front stage, some rear-fill, or skip the rear-fill, have a really solid front stage and entirely remove the rear speakers (leave the grills} and use that empty space as a port to let the bass from your box in the trunk come into the car. Just my two cents.

Would this be a good replacement for a factory rear sub in the rear deck? Its the exact same size as the factory sub (6.75). In theory this is an infinite baffle setup so im just curious as to how well this sub would work doing a direct swap
[ Tyler  Oct 29, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
Much depends on the the number (single or dual) and impedance of the stock sub's voice coil(s) and the wattage of the factory amp. The Kicker has a minimum recommended wattage of 80 RMS so, most factory amplifiers will not be enough to power it properly. 4 answers
A
Absolutely! Its a great speaker. It's only a little bit of modifying of the enclosure to make it work. Quick work with a dremel tool does the trick. It's plug and play. I have a 2004 Jeep Wrangler Sport and I love the upgrade. My originals were blown and crumbled when i took them out. I would definitely buy this again.
[ Bryan  Oct 01, 2017 ]
A
If you don't want any bass they would be great mid range not good subwoofer
[ Anthony  Oct 01, 2017 ]
A
Yes this fits and works however I added a Kicker amplifier to it and bypassed completely the internal system because it is underpowered for such a better sub. It will work but use the 43CWRT671 one ohm per voice coil speaker if you want to keep the factory amplifier. It has to be 1 ohm per voice coil if you want enough output to drive it at any volume. The original Jeep sub is 1 ohm per voice coil so it will match up. Id submit a picture but you can go to wranglertjforum and search for my article on the change out for pictures of how it looks after installation, RangerRick.

[ Matt  Mar 30, 2017 ]
4 answers
A
Are you using this woofer? If so I believe so.
[ Edson  Apr 02, 2017 ]
A
The 43CWRT672 is actually a smallish sub woofer. Not sure that it would be the best choice for a full range speaker, and my have fitment issues in a rear door (unless specifically listed to fit). It's pretty deep for it's diameter and has baffles around the basket that might hinder fitment. Are your sure it will fit? If so, I recommend some kind of amplifier, be it an OEM sub amp or aftermarket. (I installed it in the center console of my Jeep TJ driven by the OEM amp).
[ Kevin  Apr 01, 2017 ]
A
You will most likely want an Amp with this speaker to get the best sound.
[ David  Mar 31, 2017 ]
A
I have a amp hooked to mine and it is a bit much. Unless you need a dual voice coil, this full sub woofer has a lot of base. I am questioning why you want these a door speaker when a good coaxial speaker would seem more appropriate. Good Luck
