Excellent

I love this little amp from Kicker so much that I purchased one for each of my vehicles. It has plenty of power for my needs and I really like it's compact size and how cool it runs. I paired one with a Kicker solo baric 10 and another on two Kicker comp VR 10's and couldn't be happier with the sound especially from the solo baric. Both systems rock out pretty good with power to spare. This amp will not disappoint you and as always I found the best deal at Crutchfield

Pros: lots of power, small size, runs cool, dual sub connections

Cons: none other than it does not come with a remote bass knob it must be purchased separate if you want one

I love the size to power ratio of this amp. I have mine paired with the Kicker QB7 8 inch enclosed speaker and it rocks. It delivers deep bass and just a nice overall sound. The amp is very powerful and small. You can install it anywhere. It has the typical Kicker quality. The price is great as well. Buy now!

Pros: Small Powerful Price

Very powerfull clean amp

Matt from Allentown Pa on 7/21/2018

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

What a powerfull amp! I got two JL Audio W1v3 2ohm coil subs. Even though my subs are not the right choice for this amp cause I'm using 2 ohm coil subs I got too run it at 300w at 4ohm running my subs in series... my bass not only sounds really good they really hit hard. My car mirror starts in position and on a single bass note mirror goes completely down! This is a sick amp for its size. This hands down is a great amp. I'm impressed with its power and sound quality!

Pros: Small, easy to fit anywhere. Great sound and very powerfull even at 300w 4ohm

Cons: None that I can think of

Kicker is never a bad choice. Sure, they have better amps out there, but this amp produces plenty of power for my setup and produces a nice, solid hit from my 10" Comp RS sub. I bought it as an open box item, and it works perfectly. It's a good amp for the price range.

Pros: KIcker quality. Ease of install. Power is solid.

Cons: Some distortion under heavy load (may need tuning)

Kicker is kicking!

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I paired this amp with the Kicker 40TCWS102 sub and remote control. This amp works great! It has all the right features so I can adjust the bass to a perfect sound for me. My online advisor added all the right connection accessories to make hook up a breeze. Using in 2016 Altima. Can rattle windows and doors if wanted but can adjust down to sound great only in inside. You'll need to buy the bass remote separately though. The remote helps with controlling differing bass levels in songs without having to always go in trunk.

Pros: Compact size, adjustable features, powerful

Cons: None

Small Package Big power

ruben from Houston, Tx on 12/9/2016

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

My 370z is a small car to begin with and doesn't leave much room for mounting huge amps in it. This kicker Was small enough for me to put under the seat, behind the seat or anywhere in the car essentially. I opted to put it near the trunk where the factory amps come and its out of sight and safe and easy to mount with its multiple mounting options. It feels like a very heavy solid amp to be so little. combined with my Kicker L7 I get plenty of nice tight bass. My only issue is that you have to buy a separate remote bass controller and I feel that should be included

Pros: Small, Affordable, Rugged

Cons: Didn't include bass remote controller

Kicker amp kicker sub question?

Guest from Riverside, CA on 9/21/2016

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought this amp and a kicker dvc comp vr 15" and im ready to install this morning but i wanna know if theres anything like the amps not strong enough or vice versa.. 15 subs rated at 500 watts so it needs 375 to 750 w rms.. If my amp could handle this sub at high potential if not max potential my question is: is there a certain way to hook it up to have it deliver 600 watts rms? If so, how should i hook it up exactly? Cant wait to finally have this ready..

Big power small package

Leroy from Mississippi on 8/7/2016

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I bought this amp last August 2015 thinking it was all hype. When I got it and hooked to a pair of kicker comp D's and was happy for about two weeks. I know that this amp would be too much for the comp D's. So I upgraded to two Kenwood 12 with a 400 RMS to each Sub in a sealed box. My amp was rated at 678 RMS at two ohm. With the kicker subs the amp was over kill. With the Kenwoods it was a totally different level. and it can handle the power of this amp with no problems

Pros: If you get this and using two subs use one with at least 400 RMS or better. Anything under 350 RMS will be over kill with this amp

Cons: None

Product Research

Features

Overview: Kicker CX Series amplifiers can deliver plenty of power when you need it, utilizing high-grade internal components and an optimized circuit layout. The amp has highly efficient heat sinks to keep the amp running cool. You can mount the amplifier vertically, if desired, with the supplied mounting brackets.

Power Output: The CXA600.1 is a mono amplifier designed to output 300 watts RMS at 4Ω (<1% THD+N @ 14.4V) and 600 watts RMS at 2Ω.

Controls: The controls for the amplifier are located on the side of the amplifier:

  • Input Gain Control: The rotary input Gain control lets you match the output of the source unit to the amplifier. When setting the Gain, you should turn the source unit up to about 3/4 of the maximum volume, adjust the gain until audible distortion can be heard, then back the gain down slightly. The Gain control goes from 0 to 11.
  • Low Pass Filter: You can select a crossover frequency between 50Hz and 200Hz. This adjusts the upper frequency limit of the amplifier's output. The rotary control can be adjusted with a small slotted screwdriver (not included).
  • Input Level: The RCA inputs on the amplifier will accept a high-level or low-level input. Using the Input Level switch, you can select high level (button in) or low level (button out) input.
  • KickEQ Bass Boost: The bass level can be increased between 0dB and +12dB via the rotary KickEQ Bass Boost control. The bass boost circuit is centered at 40Hz.

Subsonic Filter: The amplifier features a non-defeatable 25Hz Subsonic Filter with a 24dB per octave slope. The Subsonic Filter rolls off extremely low frequencies that can't be cleanly reproduced by the amplifier and subwoofers. This reduces distortion and helps the amp run more efficiently.

Auto Turn-on: The amplifier has two Auto Turn-on modes: +12V and DC Offset. The preferred auto turn-on method is to run an 18-gauge wire from the remote turn-on lead of the source unit to the Remote (REM) terminal on the amp. When a +12V signal is detected on the wire, the amplifier will turn on. If your source unit lacks a remote turn-on lead (a factory head unit, for example), you can choose to turn on the amplifier via the DC Offset method. When a 6V DC offset is detected on the source unit's speaker outputs, the amplifier automatically turns on.

Connections: The CXA600.1 has set screw terminals for power, ground, and turn-on lead (REM). The power and ground terminals will accept up to 4 gauge wire (recommended), and the turn-on lead will accept up to 10 gauge (18-gauge recommended). The set screws can be loosened/tightened with the supplied 3mm Allen wrench. The speaker outputs are slotted, screw-down terminals, which will accommodate bare wire or spade connectors. The speaker slots are 5/16" in width, and will accommodate up to 10 gauge wire.

External Fuse: The amplifier does not include a built-in fuse, therefore an external fuse should be placed on the power wire, within 18" of the battery. It is recommended that a 4-gauge amplifier wiring kit and an 80A external fuse be used when installing the amplifier.

Note: Kicker will extend the standard warranty by an additional year (for a total of three years) when a qualifying Kicker Installation Kit is purchased with the amplifier.

Input Signal: The CXA600.1 is capable of receiving either high- or low-level input signals, and you can select the input type on the end of the amp. A pair of female RCA jacks is provided on the end of the amp. If you are using a speaker-level source, you can use the optional Kicker KiSL speaker level to RCA adapter. The Input Sensitivity is 250mV-10.0V (High Level), while the Low Level Input Sensitivity is 125mV-5.0V.

Preamp Output: The CXA600.1 has a stereo RCA output which passes the audio signal to another amplifier or component. This allows you to daisy-chain another amplifier without having to run RCA cables from the head unit to the second amp. Either input method, high- or low-level, will provide a low-level output signal at the RCA output.

Certified Power: Each amplifier is tested when it comes off of the assembly line. Tests are run for Total Harmonic Distortion, Signal-to-Noise Ratio, Protection Circuit, and Total Power Output. A Certified Power certificate with model and serial number is included with each amp with the measured power output figure, and a pass/fail grade for the other tests.
