These Kicker speakers are really great for the money! Full deep sound and they look great too. These are the third set I have installed, and the first set installed in a Jeep, now about five years old, are still going strong!
Pros: Great budget option for solid sound quality. Crutchfield provided all wiring and mounting adapters with the purchase.

2001 Dodge Ram Kicker Speakers
Kim from Clover, SC on 10/10/2019
2001 Dodge Ram
Installed 2 of these and 2 of the 6.5" in my Ram. They sound great under an older JVC head unit with some minor EQ adjusting. Shipping was fast and price was reasonable. Their depth of sound exceeded my expectations considering their relatively small size. Installation wasn't terrible, door panels are a pain. Wire terminals are slightly challenging, even with the included retrofit wire kit. Plugging the tiny spade connections is a nervous task. They feel fragile and willing to break when plugging the female connectors on. Patience is key.
Pros: Great performance. Clean high and mid range. Satisfactory low range considering the low power input (~25W/Ch) and their small size.
Cons: Spade terminals and connectors are stiff fit. Installation required drilling. Included body (screw) clips (if that's what they are) are garbage. They are 90deg instead of 180 (U shape) and snap when bent over, plus they are razor sharp. Real body clips would be nice.

I got these speakers to upgrade my factory speakers in my 2005 ford escape and right away i could tell a difference. There is not an amazing amount of bass but it sounds better than the factory ones. The installation was very easy too it took me less than an hour with no prior experience installing speakers.
Pros: much clearer sound and louder.
Cons: not a ton of bass

Great sound in camper
Crutchfield customer from Del Norte, CO on 9/4/2019
I installed 4 of these 4 1/2" Kicker speakers in the ceiling of our camper trailer to replace the factory speakers. I added two one foot long x2 1/2" wide x 1/4" hardboard supports because these speakers are a lot heavyer than the factory onrs. The ceiling wall is only 3/16" fiber board- I did not the ceiling to break. The sound is great-a lot more bass and clearer sound. CD's and movies sound so much better. My only complaint is the flimsy fiber board that bends when trying to install the pushon wire terminals.I painted the grills off white to match the ceiling. The black cones look fantastic with the white grills!

2009 Saab 9-7X
ordered these to replace factory speakers in rear doors of 2009 SAAB 9-7X. bass is little to no bass at all. but to be fair i will admit that i still have the factory radio and factory amp which is a bose system. the bass would most likely be better if i installed after market equipment. i have had three cars that had a factory bose radio system. you would think that a brand name like bose would perform better. i guess when they come factory installed they don't meet the expectations that a lot of car stereo buffs have. but i must say the speakers are doing what they should do. but they are not doing enough for me. i will return these and pay a lot more for the next pair i purchase.
Pros: nice highs . some mid range.
Cons: little bass.

Excellent value. Very good power, range and clarity. Grill would not fit in my 2006 Jeep Wrangler roll bar speaker enclosure. Used factory grills. Not a huge issue, but the grills that came with the speakers are much more visually appealing than the stock factory grills; would have been nice to be able to upgrade the look along with the sound. This is the only reason for 4 vs. 5 stars.

More Highs, Less Lows
Justin from Dallas, TX on 7/26/2017
2014 Ford F-150 XLT
I purchased these to replace a bad (not blown) stock speaker in an 2014 F-150 that currently had 6"X8" speakers. With the install adapter and wiring harness to fit the 6"X8" opening I installed just the driver door speaker first to compare against the passenger door stock speaker. Very disappointed. I agree the sound quality is more crisp across the higher and mid frequencies however all the low end sound is gone (No Bass). Even with the stereo bass maxed out on the head unit it did not come close to the stock speaker without the added bass on the head unit. I purchased four speakers to replace both the front and back speakers however I do not know if it is worth losing all my bass considering it makes up 30%, and in some cases more, of the music I listen too. Top 40 songs on the radio would sound completely different and less engaging. I am sure these work great in a system with an added subwoofer or for replacing a blown 5-1/4" speaker in another vehicle but not in the F-150. Not sure what to do now.
Pros: Good Quality & Design for the right application
Cons: Much less bass or low end sound than stock on F-150.

Decent speakers, but for the money they are great. If you're on a budget and just trying to improve a stock sound system, this is the way to go. Improvement in sound quality for sure.
Pros: Great quality for the price. Rich sound and solid construction.
Cons: Without an amp pushing these, you'll really be limited to small-time sound. You can turn the volume up, but they'll distort before you get to a solid "rock out" volume.

For a small inexpensive speaker I was very pleased. The adapter and speaker fit right in no problem. What blew me away is, that I had forgot to take advantage of the "buy one get one half off" deal. So I called back and Crutchfield, honored that. But I ordered the same exact ones, (that were for my front door speakers) and I needed a set for my rear doors, so, you even took care of me there. You not only gave me the speakers that fit my rear doors, you gave me speakers that were 100watts more powerful at No Extra Charge and if that wasn't good enough, You gave me Free Next Day Shipping and I got them the next day!!! Wow! I love the way this company treats it's customers!... Highly recommend Crutchfield!!!

I had a Hideaway with a bad harness on a piece I hadnt gotten around to installing over a year and a half and they sent me one right away. These speakers are great for the money and were paired with my factory radio in a 2016 4Runner. I bought them because of their excellent frequency range compared to other brands that are similarly priced. The sound is very clear and a huge improvement over the factory speakers. People seem to think that simply replacing factory speakers is going to provide a huge amount of bass, but if that was the case there would be no need for subwoofers. The bass from these speakers is very crisp and adequate for my needs. I want a nice sounding system, not a vibrating vehicle that annoys every other driver. I would definitely recommend these speakers over any other brand in this price range.
Pros: Crisp, clean sound from my factory radio with very sufficient highs and lows at an affordable price

I purchased these to replace the OEM door speakers in my 1992 Ford Ranger. The OEM radio had been replaced by a JVC SX930 and it appeared to be overdriving the original speakers. WOW! What a difference. Four screw replacement for the Kickers and the install wiring provided by Crutchfield made it fast and simple. The response range on these "thin" speakers is phenomenal and the bass is very powerful with crystal clear highs. I just love economical quality and this is it!

I have a 99 Nissan Altima, so they were smaller than stock but they get the job done. They are crisp, clear, loud, and define sounds well. I used brackets and had to cut off some parts of the bracket for the rear deck.
Pros: Crisp Clear Loud Much MUCH better than stock Good price Good Bass
Cons: A little hard to install in the 99 Nissan's rear deck (but this is Nissan's own fault for making it a pain) The bass could be a little louder but it's MUCH better than stock and it gets the job well done for a few hours of driving each day. Rap and EDM songs sound great.

You will have to drill 4 holes for each front adapter spacer. The wiring harness adapter make life easy. Finally I have to say Honda has achieved a new low in my book for the absolutely cheapest factory speakers I have ever seen in my life!

Amazing sound!!!!!
Jesse from Midland, TX on 5/3/2016
2004 Jeep Wrangler
The problem with Jeep's soundbar, you get a rattling sound that comes from the unit being hollow. Stuffed soundbar with polyfill and placed these Kicker speakers into the unit, the grills are bulky, so I had to grind the plastic with my Dremel tool. Turned up the music and I was still getting a rattle sound, it was the light on the soundbar. Went to Hobby Lobby and got a sheet of 2 mil foam and used a cup and lid from spray paint can for the template for the lens. Placed the sticky side on the housing, placed lens back on. Fixed the rattling sound. Now it sounds AMAZING!!! Night and day from the stock speakers.
Pros: Far better than stock and the bass in right on, while the vocals are crisp.
Cons: For Jeep sound bars, the grills are bulky, Quick fix with Dremel tool.

Quality/Affordable Upgrade Over Stock Speakers
K-man from Cheswick, PA on 4/7/2016
2004 Subaru Forester
Let's face it-stock speakers suck. I had previously replaced the front speakers, but finally got around to upgrading the rear door speakers with these. I replaced the rear 5.25" stock speakers with these and immediately kicked myself for not doing it sooner. Much improved soundstage, and the overall better highs, mids and bass. The wiring harness sent worked fine. Rather than drill out new holes in my door, I purchased adapters at a different online retailer which made installation pain-free. Very happy with these for the price.
Pros: Sound great for the money.
Cons: Don't expect much bass at this speaker size, but they've got more punch than stock.
