Built-in toughness

The woofer's forged aluminum frame and Santoprene™ rubber surround handle high-level playback, while keeping the cone on track. The injection-molded SoloKon™ polypropylene cone features special back bracing for strength and responsiveness. The sub's two 2-ohm voice coils give you extra flexibility in incorporating this sub into your system. And the UniPlate™ back plate and pole piece are made as a single, solid unit to allow heat to escape the motor. Translation? Kicker designed this sub to take some serious punishment.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

Dual Voice Coils: For increased system flexibility, the woofer has two 2Ω voice coils. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 1Ω load; when wired in series, the woofer presents a 4Ω load.

Square Design: By making the Solo-Baric square, Kicker is giving you the most possible cone area (Sd) for a given size baffle, 16% to 20% more area than a conventional round subwoofer. More cone area means the cone moves more air, resulting in louder, deeper bass.

Cone Material: The square SoloKon design is a unique one-piece construction, using injection molded polypropylene that moves as a lightweight piston, for improved control. A rear cone brace integrates into the cone with a continuous contact perimeter weld, which improves strength and resistance to deformation under pressure.

Surround: The tough, flexible Santoprene rubber surround has a long-throw, positive-roll design, which controls extreme cone excursion and is tear-resistant. The corners of the surround are ribbed to ensure linear cone motion. The surround is stitched to the reinforced cone edge to improve durability.

Speaker Terminals: The terminals are spring loaded and nickel plated for solid connections with speaker wire up to 10 gauge.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker Solo-Baric L7S woofers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum bass response. The high-performance suspension system makes the speakers very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. A broken-in subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Enclosure Compatibility

Recommended Sealed Box Volume:

  • Minimum Volume: 1.0 ft³
  • Maximum Volume: 1.25 ft³

  • Maximum: 2.25 ft³; 3" x 11.25" port opening; 18" port length

Cutout: The woofer will not mount in a standard enclosure with a round cutout. Instead, the woofer must be mounted in an enclosure with a 9.324" x 9.324" square opening.

A
You'll definitely need an amp, no factory car stereo will produce enough power
[ Mike  Apr 07, 2020 ]
A
You will need an amplifier - depending on other components on vehicle and size of battery additional work may be needed for proper install
[ James  Apr 06, 2020 ]
A
That would depend on how much current your amplifier pulls, and the size of your alternator, condition of your electrical system and size of your power and ground wires.
[ RANDY  Apr 06, 2020 ]

Can I use a 10 inch solo baric l7 kicker on my home system?

We do not recommend using car audio subwoofers in home audio applications. You will find our selection of home audio powered subwoofers on our website here: https://www.crutchfield.com/g_12300/Powered-Subwoofers.html
