The SubStage SFSDC08 fits 2008-up Ford Super Duty pickups, installing under the rear seat on the passenger side. It connects to the factory stereo via two wire taps for signal, and attaches to the battery for power. I deviated from the original install instructions and this sub hits harder than Chuck Norris. Once I had my electrical connected and verified, mounted the factory amp to the mount point, and seated the sub in its new home, I then worked on the audio. I used two wires from the original sub harness instead of what was called for in the instructions (which I believe are the door speakers or door post speakers but this messes with balance and, honestly, quality bass). This opened the door for a few things to happen: I have much greater bass than I did when followed the original instructions, my electronic bass controls on the nav system now work as if this was a factory sub, and the bass hits so hard I have the bass at the lowest setting whenever I'm playing trap or dub because it vibrates the mess out of everything in the passenger compartment. :-) P.S. > Play "Veorra - Strangers" on YouTube as a test. I had already tapped the black/white & gray/white wires going to the factory sub with RCA ends for another project I had but that this VSS replaced. I simply reused the black/white & gray/white wires again on the new harness and I was in business. See my terrible photos for clarification.
Pros: Fits flush behind rear seat, sounds amazing when done "right".
Cons: Expensive, instructions could provide better pictures on factory amp mounting location, should indicate usage of the factory sub wires instead of door speaker wire.

Very easy to install, plenty of wire to route where ever it was needed. Instructions were a little basic in some aspects, did not cover some smaller specifics. Base from unit is much improved over stock.
Pros: Base is vastly improved over stock, fairly quick install if you're familiar with your vehicle.
Cons: Electrical connections are a bit cumbersome to me, don't easly allow to customize wire length.

My set up is a 2011 Superduty Crewcab with the standard sound system, factorty sub behind the seat, and SYNC. Please note this sub sits where the factory does, not under the rear seat. Wiring harness is barely long enough but did work. Sub sounds pretty good but low notes are lacking and mids are too loud for my preference. It does shake the mirror and the dash rattles on some notes. Like other reviews, the wiring for the 2011 Superduty is not as shown in the instructions. The White and White/ Brown wires that service the Drive front speaker is not located in the bundle. I pulled off the driver rear speaker as Kicker tech support said you do not want to pull from the sub signal. My rating of 3 stars is based off losing 1 star for mounting method - although snug and bolted tightly, it will rattle on bumpy roads (2 bolts hold at bottom only using seatbelt mount vs. using factory sub mouting holes). The other loss of 1 star is for no controls to adjust anything on the amp... no volume, gain, crossover, etc. So the signal you send to the door speakers is the same sound the sub. The bass is great, but hard to balance to the existing system. For the price I paid, I think this should be included. I may relocate the wire taps to the sub signal and will update sound quality if I do. For reference, I have had 2 JL Audio Stealthboxes, and note this is not the same. My opinion is that this sub will be disappointing if you have a fully amped aftermarket system.
Pros: Good, clean base. Easy install if you have the right tools. Great option for replacing the factory sub. I would buy it again.
Cons: lack of sound control, instructions are pretty bad so be prepared and Kicker tech support is not very helpful, wiring kit barely reached anythere, top heavy so the two bottom mounting screws allow the box to shake.

Great sub. Fits perfectly. Sounds awesome.
Pros: Easy install. The hardest part is back seat removal.
Cons: Don't know if it was my truck or the instructions but reference to the wires in which you tap into was wrong. I don't have a factory sub but the instructions for model without didn't work so tried the with ones which were dead on.
