About the Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT102

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 43TCWRT102 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 10" CompRT subwoofer and a second passive sub behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy. The second sub (called a "passive radiator") reacts to the air pressure produced by the active sub, creating lots more bass without producing any port noise.

Big bass from a CompRT sub

The 10" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy. The enclosure's 2-ohm impedance draws maximum power from your mono amplifier.

Outstanding Sub - Great sound

Crutchfield customer from Prattville, AL on 8/20/2019

Very good bass from a very small box. I am powering it with a Picasso Nano 5 channel amp with 350 Watts at 2 ohms. This sub can take it. I was tuning the amp to see where to set the gains on each channel, push each channel until it distorted. This sub never distorted with the gain set to the max level. I had to turn down the gain because this sub was overpowering the rest of my factory system (factory stereo and factory speakers - 2019 Hyundai Elantra GT). I'm not a bass expert, but the bass sounds tight or crisp. I listen to a wide range of music, and it sounds good with all of it so far. I think this is a great deal with the speaker and the enclosure.

Pros: Compact, Great Sound, High Quality materials.

Cons: none

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Absolutely love this sub box! I have it in a Subaru Crosstrek and have it hooked to a JVC 5-channel amp. The crisp pounding punch is awesome. If I turn the bass boost up on my amp and play some bass tunes, the car will rattle and it almost takes you breath away. Pretty impressive for only one 10" active sub. Thank you to Leia for steering me towards this box. Love it

Pros: Compact size and awesome quality.

Cons: None

Awesome product for Tundra Crewmax

John from Austin, TX on 10/1/2018

Outstanding product for its size. I put this in my 2016 Tundra CrewMax. Installation was pretty easy, actually. Sounds fantastic. I paired with the Alpine MRV-M500 amp. I would most definitely recommend the remote control for the amp, as it allows you to adjust the amount of bass depending on the music you're listening to. I am very pleased with this Kicker product and the results.

Pros: Excellent bass Small footprint Easy install

Cons: None

Best for what I can fit in my truck

Chris from Glendale, CA on 5/16/2018

2007 Toyota Tundra

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

I have a Toyota Tundra Crew max and wanted to improve the factory sound system and add a sub. As I want something with good quality sound and that is the most diverse possible as I listen to a wide range of music, the crew at Crutchfield suggested a 10" system. The advisor also suggested this pre loaded enclosure due to its ability to fit behind my rear seats, and since he has the same unit and loves it. I am driving this with a Kicker amp that I had used with another kicker sub in my old car. Plenty of power driving this, and had to knock back the gain a bit to balance out everything. From a sound perspective, at first, I had the bass boost turned up. I have now turned it off since it makes the sub sound muddy and the sub looses its precision with it on. After a few adjustments I have come to be super pleased with this sub. While it does not hit hard, it is very tight and responsive. If you listen to music that doesn't have a lot of hard hitting bass it is perfect. However, when listening to some rap with more hard hitting bass, this sub does not stand up to larger volume boxes. But I have to remember, that I am limited with space, as I don't have a trunk. Again, for the size of this box, it packs a good punch. I would just recommend to power it sufficiently.

Pros: Tight, Crisp bass. Ideal for a wide range of music styles. Compact unit that fits well behind the seat. Price Best solution for a truck

Cons: Not good for hard hitting bass. Doesn't provide bass you can really feel.

Fit behind the seat of a 2014 single cab Ram with plenty of room to spare. Paired it with an old Kicker ZX400.1 amp. It has a nice, clean sound... but I didn't get as much bass as I had hoped for.

Pros: Takes up little space. Looks great.

Cons: Nice bass but not quite enough.

Good Compromise Between Sound and Feel

Jason from Enid, OK on 4/5/2018

1999 Ford Mustang

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

This box offers good bass in a small package, which is why I chose it. I am very limited in space. It produces a good, deep bass tone, but it isn't going to rattle your teeth. It is a solid hit and has the amazingly good sound quality that you would expect from Kicker subs. You would never know that the sub is a shallow mount 10" sub. If you want a jackhammer sound wave, this isn't for you. If you want to upgrade to bass you can feel and enjoy, it is a good choice. You have to be ready for a compromise.

Pros: Deep bass sound. Solid construction. Exceptional sub performance.

Cons: Not a pounder. Narrow box = tips easily if not behind a seat.

Ok base...not quite enough.

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

Very good for the price and size however I was looking for something with more bump when I paired it with my focale speakers not very bump giving...had to crank it all the way up to get the thump I wanted but maybe paired with another it would be awesome...or maybe if it was posted it would be better. Returned it and am currently waiting on my jbl compact subs hopefully it works out for me...but if y9u have limited space this just might be the tick3t

Pros: Fits well into small spaces. Has a decent bass sound

Cons: Can only handle so much power. Nice bass but not loud enough, maybe with a port it would be more impactful.

Just what I was looking for! Fits perfectly behind the rear seat of 2001 F-250 crewcab with about an inch to spare. Sounds awesome, hits pretty hard and low for such a small box. Got this on sale at a great price from Crutchfield, it looks and sounds great and I highly recommend it.

Pros: Price, compact size, sound quality.

Impressive bass. Got it dialed back and it can still shakes the mirrors, seat, and windows. Tight and clean, not muddy at all. I had doubts about a sealed box and passive radiator, but not anymore. This thing is a winner!

Pros: very strong fairly compact inexpensive

Cons: It's been so impressive that I feel compelled to find it's limits now.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs (3/4" width), or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43TCWRT102 enclosure uses one 10" CompRT series subwoofer and one 10" passive radiator.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Dimensions:

  • Width: 23-5/8"
  • Height: 12"
  • Depth (base): 6-3/8" (7-1/8" including the subwoofer)
  • Depth (top): 3-1/2" (4-1/4" including the subwoofer)

Hi... I'm not too familiar with numbers and specs, but What I can tell you is that this sub is beautiful, well made and sounds amazing in my F-150 single cab set up with a Kenwood Radio and hooked to an Alpine 2 channel amp. Great Punch for the buck????

Hi Slatfour! I am so sorry for any inconvenience. I did pull the Owner's Manual for this sub, and it does reflect a sensitivity level of 89 dB. We will get that correction reflected on our site, ASAP. Thanks for reaching out!

Q
Will this enclosure fit behind the back seat of a 2017 Tacoma double cab without having to remove the storage inserts?
[ Seth  Jan 29, 2019 ]
3 answers
A
Recently purchased this item. The actual enclosure will fit the dimensions of the bin, however the seat will not close. If you trim the storage insert in the front to accommodate the speaker surround, it will fit nicely but I understand not everyone wants to do that. I ended up removing the passenger side storage (remove the drivers side first!, needs to come out before passenger) and it fits nicely with room to spare for other items. So long story short, unless your willing to "trim" the storage bin, it will not fit and operate.
[ Justin  Mar 16, 2019 ]

Hard to imagine it fitting behind the seats. I have a 2018 Silverado and it fit like a glove underneath the seat (crew cab). Take the measurements and go with your gut.

Not sure. I do know it fits behind the seats in a 2004 GMC Sierra 2400 crew cab if that helps

The Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT102 enclosure comes wired internally to present a 2-ohm load to your amplifier. If you would like to discuss other sub enclosures we offer that present a 1-ohm load, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
