About the Kicker CompRT 43TCWRT104

A match made in heaven...or Oklahoma

Kicker's 43TCWRT104 loaded enclosure puts a thumping 10" CompRT subwoofer and a second passive sub behind the seat of a truck or in any vehicle that's low on space. The rugged sealed box was designed specifically for the subwoofer, so you can count on getting maximum performance, no matter what kind of tunes you enjoy. The second sub (called a "passive radiator") reacts to the air pressure produced by the active sub, creating lots more bass without producing any port noise.

Big bass from a CompRT sub

The 10" CompRT sub features a rigid injection-molded polypropylene cone that won't flex and cause distortion while you're cranking the bass. Its rubber surround will last through years of heavy use, combining with a special-design back and top plate to give you more excursion (which equals more bass) than other skinny subs.

Heavy-duty enclosure

Sturdy medium-density fiberboard ensures long-lasting performance from the enclosure, and its sealed design keeps the bass punchy and accurate, without getting sloppy. .

This really improved the sound in my Jeep TJ. I am quite impressed with the sound/bass quality from small sub box. I have an insta trunk for "security" and I've looked for something like this for a while. It fits perfectly in the trunk space. I recommend this product to anyone that is looking to improve sound/bass quality and that has limited cargo space in their vehicle. This is powered by a JBL GTR-601 amp.

This bad boy kicks HARD! Thanks Crutchfield for being THE BEST customer service platform and music industry platform! Truly THE BEST! I give this sub a 6/5!!! Had the perfect amount of the voom-voom and the boom-boom! Never will I EVER go to anything else! Kicker all the way! And just so everybody knows, it comes with not one, but TWO Kicker logo stickers! Put one on my car and one on my iPad! Amazing product for low space as well!

Great fit in my Forester

John from Smithtown, NY on 6/19/2017

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The main reason I chose this box is it fits neatly behind the back seat of my 2001 Subaru Forester, and it is short enough to not interfere with the cargo cover. Unlike any sub box I've had in the past, this leaves my cargo area wide open which is important to me as a gigging musician. I've had this set up for a few weeks now, and it did seem like it took a while for the sub to break-in as other reviewers have mentioned. It doesn't hit quite as hard as some of the other subs I've had in the past, but I feel it's a great compromise considering the minimal amount of space it occupies. I chose the 4 ohm version to pair with the JBL GTX500 amp (350w @ 4 ohms). The cone/dust cover on the sub is made of a hard plastic; if you pass frequencies above 100hz they seem to sound... plastic-y, for lack of a better word, so it's best to filter those frequencies out. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase, and the Crutchfield service team is absolutely phenomenal.

Pros: A lot of bass in a conveniently sized box.

Cons: Frequencies about 100hz sound harsh, which might have to do with the plastic dust cap on the sub.

Features

Speaker Terminals: The spring post terminals (one pair) are mounted on the left side of the enclosure and will accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs (3/4" width), or bare wire up to 8 gauge.

Woofers: The Kicker 43TCWRT104 enclosure uses one 10" CompRT series subwoofer and one 10" passive radiator.

Break-in Period: Due to the complex nature of Kicker CompRT speakers, they require a break-in period in order to produce optimum low-bass response. The suspension system is very stiff out-of-the-box. Approximately two weeks of daily playing will allow the suspension to break-in and reach its optimum equilibrium. Once broken-in, the subwoofer will exhibit stronger bass performance, smoother response, and greater low-bass extension.

Dimensions:

  • Width: 23-5/8"
  • Height: 12"
  • Depth (base): 6-3/8" (7-1/8" including the subwoofer)
  • Depth (top): 3-1/2" (4-1/4" including the subwoofer)

Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
The kicker was chosen due to its form factor, power handling capacity, sensitivity, and frequency response. Cost was also a factor. If it performs as advertised, this will be a great value. [ Colton  Jul 14, 2019 ]
A
limited space and I like that it has a passive radiator so you get a little more punch out of a single 10"sub. This box brings me back to the Kicker StillWater days when Kicker had this tiny little box with two 8" subs front facing and two 10" passive radiators on the bottom. It was one of the most impressive sounding boxes I had ever hear and all done with two 8's [ Pete  Mar 22, 2019 ]
A
Right price, range, and wattage for my application. And its sensitivity was not terrible [ Jason  Jul 30, 2018 ]

Had only limited room. Reviews were just what I was looking for. Plus I had an old set with the passive sub. Sounded great. So can't wait to try these out. [ ZACHARY  Feb 18, 2018 ]

Hopefully it will sound great with the Amp. [ M  Dec 14, 2017 ]

Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.
