Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
It has 4 good reviews and it is the correct size and renowned brand! [ Gerald  Apr 02, 2019 ]
A
I listened to the Infinity Kappa 20MX midrange's and was not very satisfied with their sound quality and am hoping these will sound better. Given the specs, these speakers should have the frequency range I wish to cover in the car with these as midrange speakers. I have a pair of after market Infinity 4 inch coax's installed in the car and was going to keep everything Infinity but have decided to try the morels along with the morel 5-1/4" coax's. An after market amp is allowing for this. [ David  Jan 05, 2019 ]
A
needed a mid - upper mid that will not overpower my front door audiofrog 6x9s........... [ kevin  Oct 20, 2018 ]
A
They fit the location of my vehicle and reviewed well. [ BASIL  Aug 10, 2018 ]
A
I'll be using these with a little mounting modification to replace the dash corner speakers in my 2014 Silverado [ Adam  Jul 22, 2018 ]
A
These appear to be very comparable to the factory original wideband drivers installed in the dash of the 2015 GMC Canyon, and should be capable of playing the role of true midrange in a three way system later. [ Eric  Apr 03, 2018 ]

Q
Does this speaker require a sealed enclosure or infinite baffle?
[ Tony  Jun 26, 2020 ]

A
Works in inifinite baffle.
[ Damien  Jul 01, 2020 ]
A
I didn't use one but maybe thats why i didnt like the highs in the speaker and went with Infinity 3.5's and no baffle.
[ STEPHEN  Jun 28, 2020 ]
A
It can be used in an IB configuration, but a small enclosure will help control the cone. Cross it at a about 500 hertz on 12db for the best results.
[ Paul  Jun 27, 2020 ]
A
No it wasn't required, an enclosure might help if ou have room for it. I my case there wasn't much room in the dash but I did put some dynamat in just below the speaker to try Nd help with the acoustics as Much as possible.
[ Bruce  Jun 26, 2020 ]
A
Mine are mounted in the dash of a Silverado...not enclosed. They do have a baffle behind them but I don't believe it is necessary. These are great sounding speakers. Very clear. They are not a full range speaker. For me, they play higher end sound. I would purchase them again.
[ Jeff  Jun 26, 2020 ]
A
I would venture that they will stay more controlled in a sealed enclusure, but mine work pretty well just ib in the dash holes
[ dejo67  Jun 26, 2020 ]
Q
What is a good amp to run a pair of these? Thank you

A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best amp for your subs I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the amp models and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
I have a 5 Channel Pioneer 9605 Amp powering Kickers in rear and Morel Maximos up front. Can I tap into the front channel to power these Maximo Midrange safely which have a max rms of 45 while my amp would be pushing out 75?
[ travylaflame  Mar 27, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
It sounds like you have a set of Morel Maximo speakers that would share the front channels of your amp with these midrange speakers. If that is correct, then they will work. If however, these midrange speakers are the only ones that will be on the front channels of your amp, then I recommend against doing that. You can call an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for a personal recommendation My Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=101
