Great sound, heavy magnets. Make sure they'll clear your instal but with thick adapter rings they fit in 2nd Gen Tacoma.
Pros: Large magnets, good wattage handling
Cons: Deep install depth

Exceptional Sound
Jeremy from Flagstaff, AZ on 8/27/2022
These still deserve 5 stars, but first, the bad-ish. Overall build quality on everything is top-notch. One of these 692s might've fallen prey to a new glue guy at the factory as the dust cap was barely touched all the way around and missed entirely in one spot. Not a big deal, since mostly it's a dust cap (and can keep higher frequencies from bouncing across the width of the cone). I've heard it should also be airtight so it can seal air moving between the front and back of the driver. Anyway, I tried to hear a difference in sound quality between the weird speaker and the normal one and couldn't tell any difference. Another reviewer mentioned the tweeters alone are worth buying these, and I agree. Few people understand how important a good tweeter is, but these make a night/day difference even compared to some Focal drivers they replaced. The quality of sound from the woofers is very good. Powerful yet clear with great dynamic depth, rich and warm but crisp. The midbass is pretty solid. If you've played electric guitar through a good tube amp and a stack, you know what it's like to feel the room vibrate and buzz - these drivers can do that! With limits - so as to not blow these drivers, if you have subs I wouldn't push the lower EQ much on these and have the subs take more of that load. Current setup: - These - 5 1/4 Morel Tempo Ultra (x2, rear) - Audiocontrol LC5.1300 - Kenwood DMX907s Not used @ time of testing: - Kicker 1800.1t monoblock
Pros: - Tweeters are incredibly powerful, clear, yet natural-sounding. Every tone is gorgeous. Note: The initially drowned out the woofers easily and I had to wire them to the -2dB crossover terminals to achieve volume balance.
Cons: - Aforementioned glue issue (so far a non-factor) - Must have an adequate aftermarket amplifier to power these (more of a warning than a con).

The clarity is there. I'm powering these with a Sony Xav7000 with a 50 watt RMS internal amp. They could definitely use more juice but they sound great.

I love my music. I have 5 hours of road time into the office so I need music. I can say they are absolutely fabulous. I turn it all the way up and they never get harsh. The tweeters alone are worth every penny. It is hard to find a good tweeter that doesn't get ear piercing. I had Focals before I went this route. I have the set powered by a JL Audio Slash 75x4. I am pleased with them. I have four 8" mb quart subs for my low end. The 6x9's handle the mid bass very well! I installed it all in my 2015 Chevy Silverado.

Absolutely fantastic sounding speakers, I'm powering these with active crossovers on a DD Audio D4.200 amplifier (200 x 4 @ 4 ohms). I'm not a fan of bright harsh sounding highs, these Morels are very warm and easy to listen to for long periods. This two way component system has blown me away, see picture, I just finished sound deadening one door using about 10 resonix CLD squares and some second skin CCF. The difference in midbass after sound deadening the 1st door was dramatic/spectacular. The midbass hit so hard and clean, it gave me an ear to ear smile! Technically the 6 x 9 midwoofer didn't clear the window roll down mechanism by 1/8 - 1/16" of an inch. I alerted Crutchfield to the problem and I installed about 1/8" of CLD/butyl rubber beneath the midwoofer as a gasket to space it away for window clearance. I need to finish my install but am convinced these are the right speakers for my build!
Pros: Wonderful sound Loud/Powerful
Cons: Expensive Bad #8 screws with too small heads

Superb speakers for all types of music
Crutchfield customer from YORK, PA on 10/29/2021
2022 Subaru Outback
I purchased these speakers based on a recommendation from a Crutchfield advisor. They are installed in the factory woofer/tweeter locations (doors/dash) in a 2022 Subaru Outback. The woofers are mounted using a Metra bracket supplied by Crutchfield and the tweeters are mounted using brackets that were fabricated from ABS sheet. NVX Silicone Baffles were modified to fit the brackets and speakers. The crossovers are located under the passenger seat along with a Kicker KEY 200.4 amplifier. The doors were treated with Dynamat Extreme and additional sound deadening material was used to prevent rattles and vibration. The crossovers are set flat and the Kicker calibration was used to compensate for the DSP in the OEM head unit. Overall sound quality is excellent. The speakers perform well with all types of music and are not overly bright or bass heavy. The output level is more than adequate using two channels of the KEY 200.4 amplifier. Bass performance is quite remarkable. The bass is detailed and accurate, but packs quite a punch when the music requires it. I feel no need to add any form of low-frequency augmentation to the system. Midrange and high-frequencies are excellent as well. Their sound is detailed and precise with no harshness and despite the tweeters being located in the factory locations on top of the dash the imaging is excellent and there is no sense of "disembodied" vocals.
Pros: Detail Frequency response Accuracy
Cons:

Fantastic speakers, terrible screws
Crutchfield customer from Anchorage, AK on 8/31/2021
2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500
These speakers sound fantastic! Very smooth down into midrange frequencies. I was concerned with tweeters not covering my factory 2.5 inch mid-highs range, but these do great! Solid mid bass from the woofers. I have a 50 watt x 4 amp. I also used some sound deadening and Fastrings. Big improvement over factory in my Silverado. Only 4 stars because the provided screws are terrible. The heads slip through the speaker holes! For this price they should have better hardware. I had to go to the hardware store for washers to complete the installation. The speakers themselves deserve 5 stars.
Pros: Speakers
Cons: Mounting hardware

Sound is so crisp and clean. Bass hits HARD for a 6x9!! I have these with a audio control 75 watt amp in a regular cab pickup and it's all it needs. Almost thought about getting a second pair for when these go out but they are a bit pricey. Well worth the $$$. Quite a bit of a difference from stock in the 2018 Silverado.
Pros: Mind-blowing clarity when ran with a clean amp.
Cons: Price$$$
