A great speaker but a bad value...
2017 Ram 2500
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
I recently installed a stereo system in my RAM 2500, and used the Audio Control D.4-800 for my DSP/Amp, a sub amp and the speakers from my old truck. They were Kenwood 6x9s for the rear and and Mbquart component set for the fronts. I wasn't overly happy with how bright the fronts were and purchased the Morel Virtus 603 component set, placing the mids in my dash. I was so blown away by the richness and clarity of the sound I decided to try these Morel 6x9s in the rear....... And to be honest I am not impressed. It's not because they don't sound good or aren't built well, because they are built pretty amazing, it's just they sound no different than my cheap Kenwoods I had back there already. I had installed 1 and went back and forth \but couldn't tell any difference between the 2. Same amount of midbass, and maybe a slight advantage on the Kenwoods when it came to the highs, but I will just call it a tie. So again, not a bad speaker but more of a bad value IMO for what you get. I am not gonna complain anymore because it is what it is, and I can be a snob and say I have Morels all around, but as far as sound goes there is not difference. Oh well...... Crutchfield was correct in saying these will not fit in the RAMs. They have quite the large lip and door trimming is needed to make them fit, no biggie though.
Pros: Built very well, sound good.
Cons: Too expensive and sound the same as my cheaper speakers
