The SAS160 is a weatherproof enclosure that allows you to add a Bluesound POWERNODE (sold separately) to your Coastal Source outdoor sound system. The tough polycarbonate and stainless steel enclosure can be wall mounted, and it uses an internal heat sink and thermal venting to keep the POWERNODE performing well in outdoor conditions.
Note: This enclosure must be mounted in the shade in order to operate properly.
Inputs and outputs
The SAS160's external connections employ proprietary Coastal Connector™ cable attachment points to protect the POWERNODE from moisture. There's a line input and left/right pair of speaker outputs. A weathertight Ethernet port lets you make a wired connection to your home network for optimal performance when using the POWERNODE's streaming capabilities. The enclosure and connections are rated IP68: "dust tight" and safe for complete, continuous submersion in water.

Features
Overview: The Coastal Source SAS160 is a water-tight outdoor enclosure made of polycarbonate and stainless steel, designed specifically to house a Bluesound PowerNode wireless music streaming amplifier (sold separately). An internal heat-sink plate provides a safe mounting bracket for a PowerNode while helping to dissipate heat. The heavy-duty enclosure features two built-in latches for the lid, which can also be secured shut using the four provided screws. Mounting brackets are provided for wall-mounting the enclosure. The SAS160 carries an IP68 weatherproof rating for outdoor use, but must be mounted in a shady area away from direct sunlight.
Enclosure Inputs & Outputs: All connections to the SAS160 enclosure feature watertight connectors designed for outdoor use.
- Ethernet: An RJ-45 input port on the outside of the enclosure terminates internally in an RJ-45 connector, providing an Ethernet connection to a Bluesound PowerNode.
- Line In: A 5P connector on the enclosure terminates in a 3.5mm jack for connecting to the Aux In on a Bluesound PowerNode.
- Speaker Outputs (R & L): Two 2-pin Coastal Connect (CC) ports provide the speaker output connections. Each port features a pair of 14 AWG speaker wire for connection to a Bluesound PowerNode's speaker outputs.
- AC Power: An attached 80" (6.7') AC power cord internally terminates in a female IEC 3-pin cable for powering a Bluesound PowerNode.

The free BluOS Controller app (for Apple iOS 9.3-up, Android OS 5.0-up, Windows PC (Vista-up), and Mac OS X 10.15-up) turns your mobile device or computer into a full-featured wireless remote control for the PowerNode.
