About the Coastal Source SAS300/4-SPR-C1

A rugged amplifier/Sonos Port enclosure with preconfigured power output
A rugged amplifier/Sonos Port enclosure with preconfigured power output
This is a specialized version of the Coastal Source SAS300/4-SPR — an amplifier with a weatherproof enclosure that protects your Sonos Port (sold separately). It provides 300 watts total, preconfigured for bi-amping a specific 2.1 system composed of two 8.0 Mini Ellipse Bollard speakers and single 10.0 Bollard Subwoofer (sold separately). The tough polycarbonate and stainless steel enclosure can be wall mounted, and there's an internal bracket that is designed to hold the Port securely.
Note: Must be mounted in the shade in order to operate properly.
Inputs and outputs
The SAS300's external connections employ proprietary Coastal Connector™ cable attachment points to protect the Port from moisture. There's a line input and four speaker outputs. A weathertight Ethernet port lets you make a wired connection to your home network for optimal performance when using the Port's streaming capabilities. The enclosure and connections are rated IP68: "dust tight" and safe for complete, continuous submersion in water.

Features
Overview: The Coastal Source SAS300/4 (C1) is a fully DSP-enabled outdoor amplifier that can provide up to 75W x 4 (300W total). Designed for outdoor use, the SAS300/4 (C1) comes pre-installed inside a water-tight, polycarbonate and stainless steel enclosure. Mounting brackets are provided for wall-mounting the amplifier enclosure. The SAS300/4 (C1) carries an IP68 weatherproof rating for outdoor use, but must be mounted in a shady area away from direct sunlight.
Note: The SAS300/4 (C1) amplifier's DSP comes pre-configured for use with a Coastal Source B10SW8BN 10" 10.0 Bollard landscape subwoofer and a pair of EB82W65BN 8.0 2-way Mini Ellipse Bollard landscape speakers (all sold separately)
Sonos Port: The Coastal Source SAS300/4 (C1) is pre-configured for use with a Sonos Port network audio player (sold separately). The SAS300/4 (C1) amplifier and enclosure include pre-attached connections for plugging your Sonos Port into the amplifier and into the enclosure. The amplifier mounting plate also includes a bracket for mounting a Sonos Port inside the amplifier's enclosure. An internal DC power plug is provided for powering a Sonos Port from the main AC power input.
Note: The enclosure's Line In and Ethernet connections do not come pre-connected to the input of the amplifer. When a Sonos Port is installed, it gets connected to both sets of cables, providing a pass-thru connection from the enclosure ports to the amplifier.
Enclosure Inputs & Outputs: All connections to the SAS300/4 (C1) enclosure feature watertight connectors designed for outdoor use.
- Ethernet: An RJ-45 input connection on the amplifier enclosure gets internally connected to the Ethernet Input on a Sonos Port module. A corresponding RJ-45 cable on the amplifier attaches to the Ethernet Output on the Sonos Port.
- Line In: A 5P connector on the enclosure terminates in a pair of RCA plugs for connecting to the Line In on a Sonos Port, while a second set of RCA cables from the amp get connected to the Sonos Port Line Out jacks.
- Speaker Outputs (1-4): Four 2-pin Coastal Connect (CC) ports provide the speaker output connections. The enclosure speaker outputs are per-connected to the amplifier's output.
- AC Power: An attached 80" (6.7') AC power cord is internally connected to the amplifier and includes an additional DC connector for powering a Sonos Port module. The SAS300/4 (C1) amplifier operates on 100-240VAC @ 50/60Hz.
Note: The Line In and Ethernet inputs have no connection to the amplifier until a Sonos Port is installed.
