Product Research

Overview: The Denon DN-202WT is the perfect solution getting an audio signal to places that would be difficult, inconvenient, or applications where unsightly cable runs or drilling of holes is not permissible. Paired with the DN-202WR receiver (sold separately), this combo allows audio transmissions through walls and ceilings up to 100 feet away. The DN-202WT is ideal for event spaces, houses of worship, entertainment venues, educational and retail applications, and more.

Wireless: The DN-202WT operates on a 2.4 GHz transmission frequency (2.404 - 2.476) with greater than 1.8 MHz of bandwidth. Its high-quality audio transmission has a frequency response of 20 Hz - 20 kHz (+3 dB) with a signal to noise ratio of greater than 80 dB. The transmitter's built-in articulating antenna can be rotated up to 180˚ and tilted up to 90˚ allowing for a transmission range of up to 100 feet. The DN-202WT can be paired to multiple DN-202WR receivers, allowing you to transmit a single audio source to multiple locations at an event or indoor/outdoor/multilevel venue.

Inputs and Controls: The DN-202WT features 2 stereo pairs of inputs; 1/4" unbalanced and balanced XLR's, allowing audio to be sent from a professional audio mixer or processor. The transmitter includes the following controls and indicators:

  • Stereo/Mono: This button allows signals to be transmitted in either stereo or mono.
  • Peak Indicators: Two LEDs indicate if either of the stereo input signals start to clip.
  • Pairing Button: Pressing this puts the transmitter into pairing mode for easy linking of DN-202WR receivers.
  • Status LED: Indicates the transmitter's pairing status:
    • Slow Flashing: Transmitter is not paired to a receiver.
    • Rapid Flashing: Transmitter is in pairing mode and is "searching" for a DN-202WR receiver.
    • Lit Solid: The unit is successfully paired to a DN-202WR receiver.

Customer Q&A

10 questions already asked

Can you stream from the Denon TO an iPhone? I'm thinking of plugging in 2 xlr mics and recording into the phone as the audio capture. Denon DN-202WT
[ Patrick  Aug 01, 2022 ]
1 answer
You won't be able to use the Denon DN-202WT as you intend, Patrick. This DN-202WT needs to be used in conjunction with the DN-202WR I've linked below for you. These only work as a paired deal, and are a great option when you need to send balanced XLR wirelessly, but the connections on the DN-202WR won't support direct to iPhone. IF you can add a computer or DAW you could use a DN-202WT/DN-202WR pair with the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 in the second link below. With a computer, this three piece would allow you to send the two XLR mic channels wirelessly, then into your Scarlett and DAW for great quality recording. I hope this helps Patrick!

Can I use this combo to connect to my smart tv and throw the audio to my receiver that is across the room?
[ Cary  Aug 02, 2021 ]
4 answers
Sure, but it is overkill. It has Pro Audio connectors. The range is more more than across the room: I use it to distribute analog audio for my whole house Christmas show to pro amps. Only two channel so can't use it for transmitting surround. I would find a wireless link that takes the digital audio out from the TV and keeps the signal in digital to the receiver.
[ Peter  Aug 04, 2021 ]
Yup, just gotta make sure you get the correct xlr to rca connections, I will say it works great for my application but I use it for pro audio set ups.
[ ALEX  Aug 02, 2021 ]
Yes, I have it a room away from my proctor to amp Bluetooth did not reac
[ MARTIN J  Aug 02, 2021 ]
I suppose you could if you the correct cables to go from the TV to the 202WT. I use for Bands to remote from their Mixing unit to my house speakers
[ John  Aug 02, 2021 ]
Do you need 202wt with the 202wr? I currently have hard wired speakers throughout backyard, wanting to convert this to Bluetooth wireless. Is this the product I need? All speakers are within 60 feet range.
[ Rick  Apr 18, 2021 ]
5 answers
Yes you do, but not sure about Bluetooth. Normally the output from the 202wr goes to an amplifier to connect wired speakers.
[ Gary  Apr 18, 2021 ]
Rick, the 202wt/202wr set don't use Bluetooth - they have their own protocol that they talk to each other with. The Denon product you need to interface to Bluetooth is the DN-200BR. - Joel D.
[ JOEL  Apr 18, 2021 ]
Need both one on each end Not Bluetooth though
[ MARTIN J  Apr 18, 2021 ]
I have only used the 202wt with the 202wr, and don't think the transmitter will talk to an ordinary bluetooth speaker. You can use it with powered speakers and 60 feet should be fine but you'll need a receiver for each speaker (at least at my level of electronic skills).
[ Peter  Apr 18, 2021 ]
I believe that you do need a paired receiver/transmitter. I use them because I needed greater distance that what Bluetooth covers. I use the set to send a turntable signal to the household Sonus system.
[ Porscheman  Apr 18, 2021 ]
Can I use to transmit to car radios? Drive in type of application
[ David  Apr 01, 2020 ]
1 answer
No, you need a low power FM transmitter for that. This only routes a component audio signal to a DN-202WT, which in turn has to be hooked up to a powered speaker or amp.
[ Peter  Apr 18, 2021 ]
Can I use a DN-202WT to broadcast to an FM radio receiver?
[ John  Mar 30, 2020 ]
1 answer
No, this is not an FM transmitter, and can only talk to a DN-202WR.
[ Peter  Apr 18, 2021 ]
I want to buy a DN-202WT and use it to transmit to a DN-202WR that I will purchase as well. I have an existing DN-200BR. Will the DN-202WT be able to transmit to both of these units at the same time? Or do I need to buy two DN202-WR to connect both of my individual amplified sound systems?
[ Erin  May 11, 2019 ]
2 answers
I have 1 transmitter (DN-202WT) talking to four DN-202WR's for an elaborate Christmas light/music show. Adding a new receiver is easy and doesn't interfere with previous paired 'WR's.
[ Peter  Apr 18, 2021 ]
I'm too much of a neophyte in hi-tech audio to answer that question with confidence.
[ ANDREW  May 12, 2019 ]
Can you use other receivers besides Denon?
[ Justin  Jan 17, 2019 ]
1 answer
I use it with my eight channel mixing board and a pair of powered speakers, so yes any amplifier/receiver
[ Poudre Schl Dis  Jan 18, 2019 ]
Would I be able to attach this to my old AVR2809 CI and stream music from my iPhone?
[ Joel  Dec 30, 2018 ]
1 answer
This transmitter is capable of that, but we have gear that can stream music from an iPhone. I recommend contacting an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 to get a personal recommendation on gear that will work My bio:
