Product Research

Features

Overview: The Denon DN-300DH is a professional AM/FM/DAB+ digital tuner in a 1 RU size chassis designed for commercial installations around the globe. If features easy-to-use controls and versatile connections while delivering clear digital radio reception.

DAB+: DAB+ (Digital Audio Broadcasting) uses a digital signal to broadcast a wide selection of channels without the hiss, crackle, or fading in and out of analog transmissions. DAB+ uses the same transmitters as DAB, but converts the audio in a more efficient way and provides a wider selection of stations. Transmitted signals can contain extra information that can be viewed on the front-panel display. Stations may show scrolling text with the artist name, track title, genre, news headlines, sports scores, even websites and request-line telephone numbers. Currently, DAB and DAB+ broadcasting is available in the Middle East, Asia, and Oceanian countries.

AM/FM: The DN-300DH is also capable of receiving AM and FM broadcasts. Tuning can be either Manual or Auto and when in FM mode, broadcasts can be received in either Stereo or Mono.

RDS: The DN-300DH is capable of receiving RDS (Radio Data Service) information, if being transmitted by the selected station.

  • Display Information: When the tuner is in FM or DAB+ mode, different broadcast information can be displayed on the front-panel display when RDS data is received. Pressing the Display button will cycle through the following options:
    • PS (Station Name): Displays the current station name.
    • PTY (Program Type): Displays the program type.
    • CT (Current Time): Displays the current time broadcast from that station. Note: Depending on location, the displayed time may vary from station to station.
    • Signal Strength Meter: A signal strength meter will be displayed, indicating the current stations signal strength.
    • RT (Information): Relevant information transmitted from the station will be displayed.

Presets: Radio stations on FM, AM, and DAB/DAB+ bands can be stored and recalled as Presets. Up to 40 DAB/DAB+ stations can be saved, with 20 Presets available for FM and 20 Presets for AM stations. Stations can be saved and recalled using the front-panel controls or the provided wireless remote control.

  • APS: Radio stations can automatically be saved to Presets via the APS (Automatic Preset Search) feature. Pressing the APS button on the front panel or remote control allows the unit to scan and store radio stations automatically. The tuner will search for stations with RDS broadcasts first then search for others.

Balanced&Unbalanced Outputs: The DN-300DH's rear panel includes a pair of balanced male XLR jacks for connecting to pro or commercial amplifier or set of powered speakers. A pair of unbalanced RCA outputs is provided for connecting to a home stereo receiver or amplifier.

IR Remote Control: A wireless IR remote control is provided. All of the DN-300DH's functions can be accessed from the remote, including storing/accessing presets and menu operations.

Voltage Selector: Designed for global use, the DN-300DH includes a voltage selector switch on the rear panel, allowing the input voltage to range from 100 volts up to 240 volts at 50 or 60 Hz.

USB: A rear-panel USB port (Type-A, 2.0) is provided for firmware updates only.

Customer Q&A

1 question already asked

Q
Denon DN-300DH - The input on the back for the regular FM antenna looks nonstandard. Will this accept a standard F-type 75 ohm FM antenna connector?
[ M H  Jul 22, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
There is an included FM antenna with the unit. It also takes a standard 75 ohm type connector if desired!
