A versatile commercial mixer
When you're planning a large commercial sound system, you want a mixer with plenty of options. The Denon DN-312X has six balanced inputs for connecting microphones and other sources, along with six unbalanced mono inputs. Automatic "ducking" on Channel 1 brings the music level down while announcements are being made.
Outputs help you build out your system
On the back of the DN-312X you'll find a couple of unbalanced line outputs — one mono and one stereo — that let you connect to another amplifier, or to a recording device. A pair of balanced outputs let you connect to powered PA speakers or studio monitors.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Denon DN-312X is an ultra slim 1U rack mounted 12-channel mixer that's flexible enough for a variety of applications. It features 6 XLR inputs, that can accept either line or microphone level signals, and 3 pairs of RCA inputs. Outputs consist of 2 XLR line outs along with a single Mono output and a Microphone Monitor output. The mixer can be powered from a standard AC outlet as well as from a 24 VDC source, making it ideal for mobile installations and tour busses, as well as fixed installations like restaurants, education centers, and houses of worship.
Connections: All of the DN-312X's inputs and outputs are located on the rear panel and include the following:
- Channels 1-6: These mono inputs consist of balanced XLR / 1/4" combo jacks, featuring Denon-Marantz's proprietary HDHQ mic preamps, that can accept either mic or line level signals. Each input has a 3-position slide switch for Line, Mic, and PH. The latter setting provides 18 - 21 volts of phantom power for powering a condenser microphone.
- Mic 1 Priority: This level knob determines how loud the volume level of all other inputs will be when Channel 1 Mic/Line input receives an incoming signal. At it's lowest setting, a signal received on Channel 1 will mute all other input signals, while at the highest setting, all other input signals will remain unaffected by a signal on Channel 1. This feature is convenient for paging applications.
- Channels 7-12: These inputs are made up of 3 pairs of unbalanced RCA line inputs for consumer level audio signals.
- Line Out: Balanced Left and Right XLR Line Outs provide the main mixed output signal to an amplifier or PA system.
- Mono Out: This unbalanced 1/4" TS jack provides a summed mono mix of the Line Out signals, for sending to a recording device, remote mixer, or an additional playback system.
- Mic Monitor: When the front-panel Mic On/Off button is pressed (On), signals from the mic/line inputs (channels 1-6) are sent to this output and the main Line Outs are disabled. When the Mic On/Off button is out (Off), all channel signals will be sent to the main Line Outs.
- Rec Out: This pair of RCA jacks provides an unbalanced version of the main Line Out signal, for running to a remote recording device or remote mixer.
- Power Input: Along with the standard AC power input, the mixer also includes 2 set-screw terminals for running it from a 24 VDC (500 mA) power source, such as in a mobile recording unit or a tour bus.
Controls and Indicators: All controls and indicators are located on the front panel and include the following:
- Mic In: This section includes individual rotary level controls for Channels 1-6, along with a Signal LED that lights green when an incoming audio signal is within an optimal range.
- Stereo In: This section includes rotary level controls for each of the 3 RCA stereo inputs, along with a Signal LED for each.
- Mic: This rotary knob works in conjunction with the Mic Monitor output. When the corresponding On/Off button is pressed, inputs 1-6 signals are sent out the Mic Monitor jack with the level controlled by the front-panel Mic knob.
- EQ: Three recessed rotary dials are provided for adjusting the
equalization of the output signal.
- Low: +/- 10 dB @ 80Hz
- Mid: +/- 10 dB @ 2.5 kHz
- High: +/- 10 dB @ 80 Hz
- Mono: This rotary knob controls the output level from the rear-panel Mono output jack.
- Master Output: This controls the output level from the Line Output jacks. A corresponding 4-segment LED stereo level meter displays the signal level with indications for Signal, 0 dB, +10 dB, and Clip.
- Power Switch: Also has a corresponding LED indicating if power is On or Off.
