Backing up anything bigger than a coupe these days can be a stressful endeavor in a packed parking lot. Advent's CAM430MV rearview camera will help keep you confident in the driver's seat, day or night. This camera mounts cleanly onto your license plate without any obstruction, and you'll gain three selectable viewing angles that look great, even in low light. You can even calibrate the camera for offset mounting, as needed on select Jeep Wranglers, Honda CRVs, and other SUVs. Advent includes a video cable that connects to your video screen up front.

Choose from three angles

Advent includes a convenient wired remote to make it easy to switch between a super-wide panoramic view, a straight-down curb view, and a split corner angle view to keep an eye out for passing traffic. If you'd like to use this camera for the front of your vehicle, Advent gives you the option of choosing normal or mirror image as well.

3-year warranty

Advent backs this versatile backup cam with a generous 3-year warranty.

Note: The video cable included with this camera is only 6 feet long, so we recommend that you buy an RCA coupler and a video cable to reach the front of your vehicle.

Could be better

Camera is Ok quality, but it has significant lag. This is good only to see what's behind you, but use caution judging distance and while moving. Also, the image is reversed on my display and as far as I know there is no way to change it.

Pros: Quality image

Cons: Video lag Reversed image

Not great viewing quality. The camera sends a patchy signal through to the headunit I also bought. I think there may be some interferferance somewhere in a connection to Make t a little worse, but it gets worse at night. The selectable viewing angles are really neat and actually help a lot when backing out of a spot. I wish the instructions that come with the camera were MUCH more clear because I basically had to run everything myself. Also, there were no video cables included to plug into the new headunit I purchased which was a pretty big inconvenience.

Features

Multiview Backup Camera: The CAM430MV multiview backup camera lets you see what's behind your vehicle on your in-dash video monitor with a composite video input. It allows you to switch between 4 different viewing angles (Rear, Panoramic, Top, Side) and even offers a built-in microphone.

Note: This rear-view camera is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear-view camera when backing-up. In addition to using the rear-view camera, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

CMOS Sensor + Wide Angle Lens: The rear-view camera employs a 1/2.7" CMOS image sensor with 1 mega-pixel of resolution and a wide angle lens (190°h x 150°v) to help you see better behind your vehicle. The camera has a minimum lux rating of 0.5.

Wired Remote Control: The included wired remote control lets you switch between 4 viewing angles - Rear, Panoramic, Top, or Side. The remote can be mounted at the front of the vehicle and stuck to the dash with the integrated peal-and-stick tape. The wired remote features an attached 21' cable to run back to the camera mounted at the rear of your vehicle.

Composite Video Input: The CAM430MV is fitted with a male composite video jack. The attached and included video cables only total 6', so you will need a RCA coupler and a composite video cable (sold separately).

Built-In Microphone: The CAM430MV is also equipped with a built-in microphone and a male mono-RCA jack that can be used to hear audio behind your vehicle, if your in-dash monitor is equipped with a camera audio input. The attached and included audio cables only total 6', so you will need a RCA coupler and a RCA cable (sold separately).

Weatherproof Housing w/ Mounting Bracket: The rear-view camera utilizes a weatherproof housing with a IP69 rating. The included license plate bracket lets you mount the camera to your vehicle's license plate; the bracket is hidden behind the license plate for a neat and clean looking installation. Also includes, is a surface mount bracket to assist with other installation methods. Both brackets allow you to angle the camera for the best viewing angle.

Q
Is this camera compatible with Advent LCD review mirror - LCDM42 ?
[ Kris  Jul 16, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
I'm not sure, but I know the quality of the camera is pretty low. If you're really wanting a good picture go with something a little more expensive. I put one on my diesel truck and I can not judge the distances to the trailer hitches I'm backing up to. It works great in the day if you're just wanting to verify clear surroundings and has a few modes that are actually very helpful, but at night you might as well not even use it because the image is so grainy. As they say, you get what you pay for!
[ William Cody  Jul 30, 2019 ]
Q
how about car washes will they damage it?
[ Lloyd  Sep 18, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
Not at all. The camera utilizes a weatherproof housing with a IP69 rating. I hope that helps. My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Ryan
