Enjoy the drive with SiriusXM

With SiriusXM's compact SXV300V1 tuner, you can liven up your daily drive with your favorite satellite radio programming. Small enough to fit neatly behind your car's dash, the SXV300V1 plugs into your SiriusXM-Ready™ car stereo without the need for any additional cables or interfaces. You can also connect this tuner to select factory radios with the help of a Vais Technology adapter. This complete package includes the hideaway satellite radio tuner, plus an installation guide and an exterior antenna that attaches with a powerful magnetic base.

This latest and greatest (so far) SiriusXM tuner gives you all the features you're used to, plus some very cool new ones. With the SXV300V1 and a growing list of new SiriusXM-Ready car stereos, you can create a daily programming package that's uniquely yours.

The SXV300V1 will plug into aftermarket in-dash receivers that have a "SiriusXM-Ready" logo. It will also connect to select factory radios with a Vais Technology adapter (not included). You'll also need an XM or SiriusXM subscription.  Satellite radio service is available only within the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Limited service is available in Alaska.

New features with select car stereos

With select car stereos (see note below), you can access some great new SiriusXM features. Want to take some of the hassle out of your commute? The Traffic & Weather Now feature can access the latest info whenever you want to hear it. If you're a sports fan, SportsFlash™ will notify you when a big play happens during a game involving one of your favorite sports teams. And if you're a music lover, TuneMix™ plays a unique blend of songs chosen from your favorite music channels on the SiriusXM Preset Band. You can even skip songs you don't want to hear.

If you have an older SiriusXM-compatible receiver, you won't get the features above, but you'll still get all the SiriusXM music, entertainment, news, and sports programming you love, plus familiar features like Replay and iTunes® song tagging. With the SXV300V1, you can even set Song/Artist/Game alerts, so you'll always know when your favorite tunes or teams are playing on another channel. And you'll be able to enjoy those new features when you upgrade your receiver. Either way, SiriusXM's vast lineup of music, sports, news, and more will make your daily drive a whole lot more entertaining.

More channels for more choices

Depending on your subscription package, you'll also be able to enjoy SiriusXM's Xtra Channels with the SXV300V1, giving you access to over 20 new music, sports, entertainment, plus SiriusXM Latino, a collection of dedicated Spanish-language channels.

Important Note: Your receiver MUST have the "SiriusXM-Ready" logo — this adapter is not compatible with receivers that have "SAT Radio Ready", "Sirius Ready DC", or "XM Ready" logos. To access Traffic and Weather Now, SportsFlash, and TuneMix, your receiver must be a new model that supports the latest SiriusXM features.

Installation Note: If your car has a FAKRA-style satellite radio antenna connection at the radio location, we offer an adapter that will connect this tuner to your car's factory satellite radio antenna.

My factory satellite radio antenna signal kept cutting out on the factory radio and it was driving me nuts. So I replaced the radio with the MVH2400NEX and the satellite tuner which works way better than my stock antenna ever did. It was definitely an upgrade.

Adam from Lehi, UT on 12/12/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Tuner was simple to install. Plugged into the back of my Pioneer AVH-1440NEX, only one port matched the plug. Antenna plugged into the tuner (again, only one port). Dummy-proof install. Included instructions showed how to stick the antenna to the roof and run the cable through the weatherstripping but I take my truck out in some pretty gnarly weather so I didn't want to risk compromizing any of the seals. Luckily, the antenna gets full satellite signal sitting on my dash! (see pictures).

Pros: Simple installation Product works great

Cons: Does not make waffles for me in the morning

great sound. Antenna works from inside my car under the rear window. That was important as I didn't want to attach the antenna to the outside of my 78 Corvette.

Good equipment, poor service.(SIRIUS)

Frank from Clover, SC on 12/5/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Let me start by saying Crutchfield in no way is reflected in the 3 star rating. Sirius however ruined the whole experience. Yes the unit works, however it is nothing but non stop commercials about how great they think they are. I called to sign up and the person on the other end did not speak clearly, was rude and every time he gave me a total for a year subscription the price went up. Final price came in at 250.00 a year. There is no way I am going to pay that much to listen them say how great they are, because they're not.

Pros: None

Cons: SIRIUS

SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner

David N from Westminster, SC on 12/1/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Don't get me wrong this is a GREAT product, but the only way to get it...as far as I know...is with the entire kit and it includes the antenna. That is the reason for the 4 Stars. If you are having to install this product in a vehicle that already has a Sirius XM capable OEM antenna mounted you won't need the antenna that comes in the kit. One should be able to get purchase the SXV300 Connect vehicle Tuner as a stand-alone product. BUT, make sure you get the correct cables that connect the OEM antenna to the Sirius tuner

Pros: Works very well

Cons: Need the ability to just purchase the tuner alone

Easy way to add SiriusXM

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

XM is in and AM/FM is out, I've had Sirius for 5+ years and haven't set a FM channel preset since, it was definitely time to have it in my 02 focus!

Pros: Channel selection, no channel fade, easy installation, simple setup

Cons: Annual cost for package is a little much since its 2018 and things are far more digital than when it came out. It also needs just a touch of better signal recovery for some mountainous areas, underpasses, or covered areas I'm general.

SiriusXM SXV300V1 Tuner

Scott from Green Bay, WI on 11/21/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Works fine, but be aware that Sirius, XM, and SiriusXM are all different platforms and have different pricing for the same packages. As I recently learned, the Sirius Select package is the same as the SiriusXM Select package, except the SiriusXM package costs $5 more per month. Research what channel package you want first before selecting a satellite radio platform! Review is downgraded because this is not made clear in the product description or from conversations with Crutchfield customer service when placing the order. I was just told I needed a different receiver for my radio.

Crutchfield customer from Indianapolis, IN on 9/30/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Didn't know before purchase that the antenna had to be located on the exterior of the car. The three free month "deal" required signing up for the premium service. The $70 rebate also had a few strings on it. If I went with those deals, I would have been paying more than I pay for Netflix and Amazon Prime combined!

Pros:

Cons:

Super simple

Daniel from Hays, NC on 9/28/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The antenna magnet is super strong and the wire is easy to route out of sight. Using the door weatherstrip to cushion and hide the wire is a safe practice. I highly recommend using the existing pass through present versus turning the wire through through the weatherstrip and into the dash as that runs a risk of breaking the wire and doesn't look professional. This body pass through involved pulling the rubber boot back and pressing on two locking tab to release the ring. Doing this will greatly ease reinstallation. The plastic bushing/ring has preexisting cutouts which orient the rubber boot. Use the bottom one when routing the wire and you'll never have a water leak and others will wonder how the install came out so clean. It would be nice if this review application allowed existing photos to be uploaded, but it doesn't. Maybe that can be rectified moving forward.

Pros: Couldn't be easier

John R from Lititz, PA on 8/27/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After the install, I called XM Radio to activate my subscription. Well, the 3 months free isn't really that free. You have to subscribe for a 6-month premium plan plus pay for an activation fee. Then you get the first 3 months free. So you end up having to pay for the last 3 months plus the activation fee. After arguing for awhile with the pushy salesman, I finally told him that all I want is the basic service. Then he finally relented and said that they have a promotion for 6-months of basic service and no activation fee! Other than that, the XM receiver works perfectly with my Kenwood DNX693S head unit. I put the antenna under the dashboard with some velcro right next to the GPS antenna. The XM radio might work even better with the magnetic base antenna outside the car like the instructions specify, but my car panels are all plastic :)

I love this radio but they do not tell u when I buy it that it is an "xm radio". So when u go to activate it with Sirius, if u want to listen to any Sirius stations u will have to pay more every month for an all access package. So if u want to listen to Howard stern u r going to pay more than u would if I u bought what they consider a Sirius radio. The radios should be labeled in a way thAt would let u know this. They know once they sell the radio and it is installed they have u trapped into paying more every month. Shame on Sirius!!!!!!

You'll need this number in order to activate the tuner and get all the stations. If not, you'll be pulling the radio out again and pulling the tuner out to get that number. It's not recorded anywhere else. I didn't do that, but I can see myself making that mistake years ago when I first started installing after-market radios in my own cars.

Pros: Easiest install with a SiriusXM-ready radio, no surprises

Cons: None

Installation could not have been easier - the extra long antenna cable allows you to literally route this through any length of interior trim you have, and then up to the exterior roof. Plug and play. I moved my XM account from the old receiver to this new one and it was operational within minutes.

Pros: Strong magnetic connection. Long cable. Easy to install.

Cons: None.

I thought installing the antenna would be difficult but proved to be very easy, this tuner works well with my Kenwood Excelon. I get good reception 99% of the time, there is only one place on my commute where the signal is blocked for a short time. I won't write a bad review because I was unable to claim the rebate but you must have the XM Select or All Access in order to receive the rebate, I am using the Mostly Music plan and it does not qualify. Other than that I am very pleased with the product and will continue to use their service.

Pros: Easy install, works well and they have some great music channels.

Cons: Have to have an upgraded plan for the rebate.

Works great. easy to install. I have C6 Corvette that I just update the factory radio with a Pioneer AVH 2440NEX and installed the antenna in the center speaker grill that is only 2 feet away. The cable that comes with it is 23 feet long. Ended up with a rather large bundle of wire. Would have been nice to offered a shorter cable. I wonder how much signal is lost because of the very long cable.

Pros: Easy to install, no external power connections.

Cons: Antenna cable was way too long for my needs

like the SCC1 Design better

Dallace from West Harrison, IN on 4/13/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been using the SCC1 for YEARS, and what I love about that tuner is that I have it installed in a location that allows me to pull it out quickly and take it onto our boat where I have that wired up for Sirius too. Out on the water signals can be sketchy, and having access to SAT radio is great. But alas, it was time to upgrade my factory radio to get Android Auto and modern BT features. So, I bought the latest SVX300 which would be required. Much to my disappointment this does not disconnect from the tuner, and I cannot find an extension so I can use this in my truck/boat. Unless I can find a solution for that, I guess I'll probably end up just cancelling my last subscription for Sirius since it just doesn't make sense to keep the old SCC1 tuner active for the boat. With AA in the truck now it's easy enough to stream free/lower cost online music. As for the tuner itself, I haven't activated it, but for the price I paid when purchasing the radio/install kit it isn't a bad deal to have it in the truck in case it gets used later on.

Pros: easy install

Cons: Built to make it harder to swap

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First a foremost this is not a bash on Crutchfield. I have delt with them in the past and will do so again. I do however suggest consumers research SirusXM before buying. I purchased this for my son as a Christmas gift. Installation was a no brainer and i Activated a subscription. I have SiriusXM in my truck and wanted to continue with it. I contacted them trying to get a decent rate but they were too high for the use of the services provided. When I finally was able to get it through the employees thick skull they canceled my service as requested. It was almost a fight to get them to cancel. I urge anyone who is considering purchasing SiriusXM tuners and getting there services make sure it is something you truly want. Do to the attitude I received and lack of customer service I will not be doing business with them now or in the future. A horrible company to deal with.

MT Vessel from Oakhurst, CA on 4/6/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this on my 1999 Chevy Suburban, and this product would have gotten 5 stars except for 1 thing: The antenna's cord is NOT long enough to mount the antenna on the back of the roof! I suspect that for almost any other vehicle, the included cord would be long enough to allow installation pretty much anywhere, but I ended up having to buy a short extension cord to complete my installation. (Although I would have been happy with just 3 feet, I couldn't find anything shorter than 10 feet, and I ended up coiling the excess inside my dashboard.)

Pros: - Works perfectly

Cons: - Antenna cord is too short for rear roof mounting on a Chevy Suburban

This REALLY an improvement over the old Sirius tuner I used with the hard to use interface of my old Kenwood DDX6019. I paired this new tuner with the PIONEER AVH-2330NEX. Don from Show Low, AZ on 1/24/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Tuner was easy to install and works great. Activating was a breeze. I had a problem getting my rebate that I did online. It was rejected for not including model # ( I did ), and invalid purchase date. The online form expired 12/31/2017 and I purchased mine on 1/5/2018. I called Sirius before I purchased the tuner and was told a new rebate started on 1/1/2018, so I thought I was good to go. I had to call the rebate # 3 times to get the rebate authorized. I should receive the rebate in 4 weeks. My figures are crossed.

Pros: Easy install

Cons: Sirius xm customer service can do for some improvement.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The only reason I Gave this a 1 Star is because of how difficult it is to get your rebate from Siriusxm.... The web site that they direct you to fill out the rebate does not work... they are aware of this and are in no hurry to fix the problem. To mail in the rebate you need the invoice from Crutchfield and the label from the original shipping box (which I don't have because you don't need it if you filled out the form on line) because I don't have the shipping label I cannot get the rebate. I called siriusxm they said no problem we will give u 6 month free instead I said that's great. 3 weeks later I see a subscription charge on my credit card for $25.50 called them was told that was a part of the plan, I said I never remembered that part, they said it was a normal fee and by the way it was not 6 months it was only for 3 months. at this point I had a enough I just cancelled my subscription all together (after being put on hold and speaking to 4 different people)...

Pros: works great

Cons: its very difficult to get your rebate .....

Jeff from Valrico, FL on 1/5/2018

Works but the signal strength is half of what my stock unit the truck came with, I have it hooked to the Alpine X110-SLV and it uses my stock antenna so that isn't the issue which sucks cause it shouldn't be different than the stock was but other than that it does what its supposed to, should cost less in my opinion also since you have to pay for the subscription.

Pros: works

Cons: reception strength compared to vehicles stock unit.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy to install. Simple connector that pops right in the back of my head unit. Antenna is just as easy to install as any other XM unit if you've ever had like a Roady 2 or similar in your car. Only drawback I can find about it is the subscription rate for the service is a bit high. Well, that and the horrendous robotic/overcompressed sound of the speech only channels like the traffic/weather channels. Channels like those sound HORRIBLE on every single XM device I've ever used. It is just the fault of theirs in the way they compress the heck out of the signal when sending it down. Also, and this might be my radio's fault, but I can't figure out how to change or remove the local city I told the traffic and weather part to use when I hit the associated icon when playing with it in the beginning. Not a big deal at all, just something I noticed. Oh, and if you install this in an area that doesn't get a good signal, it might take a while for the activation signal to get sent down to you or you might have to go to the website and have the refresh signal sent back to your radio again for it to start working. Pretty easy to get going, though.

Pros: Easy to install Easy to activate Easy to listen to music

Cons: High subscription rates Horrible audio quality of channels like traffic/weather, but that is for very few cities so you likely wouldn't use them anyway On the music channels it is sometimes easy to hear the compression of the music and how it limits frequency response and stuff like that. Well, easy to hear if you are picky and have a knack for knowing what is missing

Simple plug and play, powered from the radio so there is no need for power or grounding wires, simply attach antenna plug and plug into the back of the receiver. Once you hooked up, sign up with sirius account and you are ready to roll. Make sure to contact the customer service support in order for you to obtain their promotional service once the 90 period free service is over if not you will be paying expensive monthly service.

Pros: I have nothing to say.

Cons: do not ignore for not calling the customer support in order to avail their promotional service fee prior to 90 free service.

This is the first SiriusXM add-on module I have used/owned. Previous radios were either standalone receivers, or already built in to the factory system. Installation was easy except for the tight quarters I had to negotiate in the dash of my 2005 Tacoma and the arduous routing of the antenna lead through the dash and out to the antenna. I would recommend this as an easy add-on to install.

Pros: Easy to hook up.

Cons: None

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had a guy help me install this as I upgraded the factory radio with a JVC KW-V230BT head unit in my 2003 Chtevy Suburban. The antennae is small and flat, it attaches to the roof of the vehicle with a magnet a cable runs from the antennae to the back of head unit where it attaches magnetically. You should copy the product radio ID number because its needed to activate it when you contact SiriusXM to start a listening subscription... Ask them for their best promo offer when subscribing!

Pros: Fairly easy to install.

Cons: If you are already a SiriusXM subscriber, they might give you this unit free if you agree to purchase a minimum subscription, which you will need anyway.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit itself is great and easy to install with a Sirius port on the head unit. I was changing the head unit anyway so this wasn't any more of a hassle. The sound is great but loses signal periodically, but living in a heavily wooded area it's to be expected. The biggest downside is the rebate. I've sent in the required documentation through the rebate link but it says I have to physically send in paperwork because it doesn't recognize the tuner. Really? It's the only tuner set for a rebate through that link, and you still make me jump through hoops to get it? Had I known I wouldn't have bothered with Sirius.

Pros:

Cons: Getting the rebate is going to harder than pulling teeth with a blade of grass.

CHECK YOUR REBATE STATUS!!! Mine was declined because of a bad model number, despite there being nowhere on the online form to enter the model number. Waited 3 months to get that card, only to find it was declined with no notification. Had to contact them to push it through. I have constant issues with mine not starting quickly enough when connected to my AVH-1330NEX, sometimes it will reset mid use. Works OK most of the time, I'm also using my factory antenna. Biggest complaint is SiriusXM moving channels up to the 300's, which means older radio's don't work anymore.

Great improvement over the last model. Like that you can pause live music on multiple channels. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Thew product is great! Crutchfield provided great service! Easy install! My only problem is dealing with the SiriusXM rebate processing. So far I have been denied twice, once on the online form, once by the mail in form. The online form does not provide a place to select the model, it just says "All Eligible Receivers." I was denied for not providing the model number which their form would not allow me to provide. The mail in form was denied because they stated I did not provide the place purchased. There was no blank on the form for "place purchased" and further the place purchased was boldly in big letters on the receipt, CRUTCHFIELD. None of the fine print stated this was necessary either. Well, maybe the third time is a charm. They make you earn that rebate. Not Crutchfield's fault, I know, I just want to let other buyers know what they will be up against.

Pros: Great product Easy install

Cons: SiriusXM process requires too many hoops

The tuner was real easy to install, just plug in. Now the antenna was a different story. Installing the antenna on/in a 2008 Class A Motor Home may be easy for a pro that works on them all the time but for this first timer I spent much time deciding where to mount it and run the cable. Not to mention that the roof is +12' from the ground. When the sat music started it was all worth the extra effort.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Incredibly easy to install. The plug & play capability made it easy since it was installed at the same time as a new Kenwood stereo. The long antenna wire is great for those really remote roof locations so the antenna has access to as much of the sky as possible. We installed this unit in a motorhome, so the path we had to follow to the roof was quite long and not direct like in a car or truck. The challenge was installing the magnetic base of the antenna on a fiberglass roof - it required first installing a steel plate for the magnet to cling to.

Pros: Really, really easy to install.

Cons: The antenna wire is thin, so it requires a clear path to pull it through so that any pulling on the wire is minimized.

After-market unit not-user friendly

Harvey from Woodland Hills, CA on 9/4/2017

In my previous car (2006-20016) the XM radio was built in and very easy to operate. I bought a new vehicle where I had to install the SXV300 after-market Sirius XM tuner. This has not been very satisfactory. First, it runs from the iPod screen, so if I want to use my iPod, the XM has to be in plugged. Next, spinning the wheel to tune to another station is incredibly slow and time consuming-- you can spin the wheel 8 times around and move 2 stations; usually I just use the button the steering wheel and have to push it 10 or 11 times to get to my station-- or 100x if that is what it takes. Stupid! Next-- when I used to get my presets it was one or two strokes at the most, and VERY easy to set. It is a bloody ordeal with this unit! Just to play them, you push a button that gets you to a screen, you scroll down to Presets, push the button; you now have several choices, you scroll down a few clicks to "Artists" as that is the only choice that works--which is not exactly intuitive. Then you have to scroll through the presets to get to the one you want, which can be quite a few. Then, you push the button, and you get the choice "Play or Delete" and you push Play. Finally, you have your station about minute and 10 strokes later. REALLY STUPID. Ok, then to set up presets is incredibly annoying and takes many, many steps. I can't recall how to do it and there is no online manual--only for installation. SUPER STUPID. Terrible product poorly supported. Designed by a primate, no doubt.

Pros: Excellent selection of channels

Cons: Horrible interface to set/access pre-set favorite stations No online users manual, only installation guide Tuner selector inefficient and ineffective Takes up iPod jack in car Cuts out instantly going under freeway overpass

1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The team at Crutchfield are great! They are friendly, knowledgeable and provide great information. My biggest concern about using this product on my 1994 Grand Cherokee was getting the cable from the exterior to the interior. There was not direct information available for my vehicle. My plan was to mount this on the roof, in the center, at the rear, adjacent to the rear lift gate. When I examine that area I discovered that there are three grommets for wires and the rear washer hose to enter the cabin from the lift gate. The washer hose grommet was closest to the center, so I popped it out, carefully made a radial slice cut from the perimeter to the hose. The cut opening was expanded, the antenna cable was placed in this new gap, then the opening was closed. The grommet was pushed back into the body hole. The result is the cable is protected by the rubber grommet cushioning and the new opening is also sealed by the compliant rubber. One HUGE benefit of this Sirius antenna is the cable. The cable jacket is tough, slippery and SMALL. All of these are HUGE aids for the installation. If there are any nits that I would pick it is that the manufacturer henks the cable in a block shape, w/ a bend every three inches. Those packaging bends require extra attention during cable routing through the vehicle, to avoid snags, tighter bends and kinks. The manufacturer should package the cable in a circular loop. The manufacturer includes an Isopropyl alcoho

Pros: Great cable, small outside diameter, slippery jacket, tough jacket

Easy to install in the dash behind your stereo. Just locate your antenna on the roof, route your antenna cable through outside weather stripping until you can locate a way into the car/cab, tuck the cable under the door threshold strip towards the dash, find a way up into the dash towards your stereo and plug into the tuner. Use the ties to strap the receiver to a wire bundle and done. Make sure you copy the receiver ID before installation so you can get your rebate.

1991 Volvo 240 Series
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this XM tuner because they finally made it small enough so as to be much more easily mounted. And the cost of this newer model was 1/2 that of the original they used to sell. Their previous unit was too large for my application and the price was more than I cared to pay . So I waited until a smaller version was offered. Finally, but this latest iteration is pretty small, has tie wrap mounting holes made in it's chassis, which makes it a breeze to mount under the passenger side dash of my 91 Volvo 240 sedan. And the price of this unit was easily affordable. The antenna cable is pleny long to mount the antenna anywhere on the car. I opted to mount mine just in the center, just in front of the windshield on the cowl behind the hood. I routed the cable into the gap between hood and cowl, along the base of the large rubber seal used there under the hood of my 240. Worked out very well and was quite easy to install and routing the wire for the antenna was quite easily accomplished. Only suggestion I have is the squarish black plastic antenna should be offered in colors to help match one's paint color. Other than that , no complaints with installation nor performance of this unit. Price has come down enough, and size of this unit small enough as to make it affordable and easily installable for most anyone. If antennas were offered in colors it'd get a 5 star rating from me. So I gave it a four star rating for lack of choice of antenna color

Pros: Installs easily, unit is small enough (about the size of a smart phone) to mount anywhere underdash of any car . Antenna cable long enough for a full size 70's Lincoln Continental . Reception is great.

Cons: Only con is the square magnectically mounted antenna only comes in the color of gloss black. How about at least offering the magnetic antenna molded in gloss red, gloss white, gloss blue ,gloss yellow, and gloss orange so one can have it blend in with one's paint color ?? You know to help 'hide" it . Please Serius XM ?

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit was a replacement for the same model that I had installed a few years ago. That unit experienced a antenna failure for no apparent reason. These units seem to function well. The first antenna was mounted on the roof of my 96 Suburban via the door opening and up the side of the windshield. This unit's antenna I took the time to drill a hole in the center of the roof from underneath the roof console and ran the cable above the headliner. I hope I do not experience the same issue. I have these units in 3 cars currently and love the ability to get the same station from North Georgia to South Florida. Siriusxm has the best music line-up in the business. Highly recommend the product and the service. These units are available for just about any radio application, I just installed the commander model in my 2016 Sprinter.

I love this tuner - installed in a 2002 National RV Sea Breeze Class A motorhome. I wasn't sure where to install the antenna, but had seen reference to installation INSIDE the motorhome - just below the fiberglass roof. I tried it, and it works great for me, at least in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. I will update this review if I experience any problems while we are on the road in the coming months. I paired this with a Pioneer DEH-X8800BTS; it's a great combination. When switching between PRESET Sirius channels, the Pioneer buffers the broadcast, and starts the current song at the beginning! I have 2 other Sirius radios, and this is the only only that can perform this feat. Highly recommended!

Good size

Sam from Lakeland, TN on 7/8/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the size. Much smaller than the old one that died. The old one was purchased prior to the Sirius/XM merger so it only worked on Sirius which was fine with me BUT that made the new receiver not compatible with my older Kenwood KDC-MP238 so I had to up-grade the head unit also. That was too bad as the old unit still worked well AND it would control my external CD changer that the new unit will not so I lost that. Also the new unit cannot use the antennae used by the old one. This required me remove the coax and route the new one. A pretty major part of this up-grade. The old unit used a separate DIN cable of considerable length which gave you more options on mounting locations. This unit has a fixed permanent short cable limiting mounting to inside the dash behind the head. I had to get creative creating space that the cord would reach from.

Pros: Much smaller than the old one

Cons: Not compatable with the unit it replaced. Dealing with Sirius/XM to move service from old radio to new radio, a real PITA. They could take a REAL lesson from the folks at Crutchfield who are nothing short of excellent.

Incredibly easy installation. Just plug the multi-pin cable into the back of your head unit, and then the antenna into this module. I was actually able to use the factory 2006 F-150 satellite antenna by removing the plastic connector housing on the factory antenna end, which saved me a ton of time by not having to run the included antenna to the roof. This was a pretty straight forward installation. I was installing a new head unit so this was the perfect time to add the SiriusXM tuner. My car came with SiriusXM so I had to get the OEM antenna adapter to use the factory satellite antenna. This tuner came with an antenna for those who don't have a vehicle with the satellite antenna already installed. I went to SiriusXM's web site and activated the tuner and was listening to awesome music within a few minutes.

I added this tuner to a Pioneer AVH-X2800BS deck in a 2007 Ford F150. The install of this tuner was simple. The hardest part is running the antenna wire from the roof to the back of the unit. Once installed I activated it on line by replacing an old Sirius Sportster radio. It synced flawlessly to the Pioneer unit. So far, no complaints.

I bought this tuner to go with my new Kenwood receiver. I couldn't really pass it up with the tuner being free after getting a mail in rebate. The signal is crystal clear. It is one of the clearest xm signals I've ever heard. The antenna is extremely strong. If you're purchasing a radio that is Sirius Xm ready and you'd be interested in satellite radio at some point, you should take advantage of this offer.

Pros: Easy install. Great rebate promotion.

Cons: none so far.

Fine, but I'm not sold on Sirius XM as a company.

Scott B. from Lawrence, KS on 4/12/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This works well. Plug it into the back of your XM Sirius head unit and place the antennae and find a place to run all the antennae to had unit wire. You will end up snaking antennae wire from the roof mounted magnetic antennae (a separate antennae from your stock one) all the way down the A pillar (or wherever) into the interior and under the dash. That's a lot of skinny black wire, probably not a big deal. But you should be aware. Finally, even though I purchased this tuner for XM Sirius, I decided not to subscribe. Satellite radio seems like a great idea. I've used it years ago. But now you have other options, your phone will pretty much do all you need for your music (and talk) needs. XM sirius is a difficult/sketchy company to deal with. I tried to subscribe but after being on an endless phone tree, where they could not help me, I decided to back away. So bought the tuner, and I wanted to use satellite radio. But the company itself gave me pause.

Pros: works. relatively easy installation, plug in and place antennae.

Cons: solution for antennae wire could be better (lots and lots of wire run from antennae to back of head unit). XM Sirius is kind of a cruddy company
