MTX audio

I was interested in this sub because i knew of their history and the fact that it was using a new surround cone for more bass response,I had bought it to replace a factory sub in an Electro-Voice ZXA-1 sub which wasn't getting a good low end response,I installed & wired it in an 8 ohm configuration per Crutchfield advice, I added some additional sound dampening spray inside the sub box, additional sound acoustic panels w/some bass traps in the corner of the den and added some silicone sealant around the outside of the sub speaker. It made a good first impression their was no port noise or vibrations, movies and music have much improved soundfield. The MTX bass much better impact than the Electro-Voice factory sub & lower frequency response.I have the crossover setting at 100 hz for music and for movies i set it to 120 hz.

Good Subs

These subs are a great bang for the buck. I loved the surround and everything about the sub. I ran 2500 watts to each sub and they lasted me about a year until I decided to trade them in.
Pros: Loud and Ignorant
Cons: Not good on lows

MTX Audio

MTX Audio 4ohm, 400W Rms 800W peak, 12inch. I matched it with a Profile California 1000W amp. It blew my Kenwood 12" so I bought this speaker. When I first used it it wasn't as loud, but now it bumps pretty well. The sound is good overall. The speakers looks is pretty cool and different I like the red ring because it matches my amp light. So far so good with the build quality I usually have the volume up pretty high, and it hasn't quit on me yet and I'm sure it won't. I've had this speaker now for a little over a month and bump nearly every day. If you turn it up loud enough it's enough to be a nuisance and be heard. And not to mention it vibrates your ear drums!!
Pros: The lows are terrific!! Better than my Kenwood! I am pleased with the speaker overall.
Cons: It doesn't hit as hard as the Kenwood I had for single short hits. My Kenwood sounded a little different in some aspects. Such as the raising or lowering of the pitch of the bass on a song. It is not as noticeable as the MTX

Great subs for the price

MTX reminds me once again why I continue to buy MTX. Have 2 installed behind the seat in an '07 Dodge Ram 2500 Megacab. Powered by a MTX Jackhammer mono amplifier wired to 2 ohms. Sound quality is exactly what I had hoped. Maybe lack a little on really low end bass but that may be fixable with some tuning. But overall great sound for the buck.
Pros: Value Looks Solid construction Sound
