The JackHammer Series by MTX offers just what its name implies — aggressive styling with plenty of hard-hitting power, so your system will look great and sound even better. The chrome detailing and powder-coated steel chassis with vented bumper guards provide exceptional durability, while the MTX logo lets people know you're packing serious power.

The JH300 mono subwoofer amplifier delivers up to 300 watts RMS to your subwoofer setup. Patented MTX technologies process and amplify your signal without wasting energy and creating harmful levels of heat. Active Fan Cooling speeds up the internal fan as you turn your volume up, so more cool air reaches the inner workings as power demands increase. Variable filters help you match the signal output to your speakers, and a bass boost lets you control the "boom" in your sound.

The amp that could... for cheap!

I bought a brand new car last summer and while the audio system in it was quite good for factory specs, it was lacking in the low end due to simply have smaller (6.5") speakers and no pre-installed subwoofer. In my car there was an audio upgrade option that included better speakers and a sub, but it was part of the navigation option and cost over $700 extra. Enter the MTX JH300. I've never had experience with MTX so this was a hard decision, but in the end, one i am glad i made. I bought this amp plus the MTX BS112S and an lnfinity 1260w sub. My last car audio setup had twice the power going to the sub but the amp was of lower quality. I was worried that with only roughly ~200w driving my new 12" sub it would be underpowered. But i felt compelled to try out the lower power, higher quality amp. Because i wasn't replacing the factory radio my amp had to have 3 specific qualities that narrowed down my selection. It had to have the following things: speaker level inputs, remote bass tuning knob, and auto turn on when detecting a speaker level input signal. The MTX provided all that. I had the system installed professionally by a local audio store. When i listened to the sub for the first time I was impressed. It was better than my previous setup! The amp worked flawlessly with only 200w due to its high efficiency and i was pleased. I would recommend this amp to anyone looking for clean tight bass on a budget.

Nice Amp

Nice amp overall. All of the set screws that hold the wires(speaker, power and ground) are the same size so you don't need 3 allen wrenches to install it, the fan seems to keep it cooled but you can't hear it running during the silence between tracks and the case even looks pretty good if your installation location puts it on display. My only complaint is with the "power on" LEDs on the amp and the remote. They are bright enough that they light up my headliner and I had to put the remote inside of my glove box instead of under the dash where I could reach it. The LED on the remote would blind you even if it's not pointed directly at your eyes.

Have this amp paired to some jbl 10's and the sound is awesome. Makes the subs work overtime and doesn't even get warm doing it.

This amp is awesome. I have it powering a MTX Jackhammer JH4510-04. The sound is perfect. There are no issues with the amp over-heating, even after playing at high volumes for hours. You can't go wrong with this amp!

i think this is a very well put together amplifier. this is my first MTX product but so far it is living up to their reputation. i have it pushing (2) 8" Kicker CVRs in a homemade ported box and it bangs! i can pound on this thing all day and it barely gets warm. adjustments are easy w/ all the controls on one side. would definitely buy another one if needed.

I paired this amplifier with a rockford fosgate stage 1 punch 15 in subwoofer and at first i had some doubts, but this amplifier makes my subwoofer pound. I love this amp and would recommend it to anyone trying to push a sub with 200rms or less.

Added this amp to a Bose system. The signal sensing feature works great. The wired bass control is a great feature. Temporarily used this amp on an 8" sub and the sub didn't last a day. Amp has plenty of power. Well worth the money.

Bought this along with the MTX JackHammer JH4512A and it has proved to be an excellent combo in my Saturn Outlook SUV. I had it installed the amp in the rear floor storage compartment. The built-in fans keep it cool while the remote bass knob allows me to turn it down when the wife and kids hop in.

Features

CEA-2006 Compliant: CEA-2006 is a new system of testing and measurement methods for mobile audio amplifiers. This voluntary standard advocates a uniform method for determining an amplifier's RMS power output and signal-to-noise ratio. The criteria for measuring power uses a DC input voltage of 14.4 volts and the RMS power output is measured into a 4-ohm load, with 1% or less Total Harmonic Distortion (THD) plus noise, and at a frequency range of 20 Hz to 20,000 Hz when applicable. Signal-to-Noise ratio is measured in weighted absolute decibels (dBA) at a reference of 1 watt into 4 ohms. CEA-2006 allows consumers to compare car amplifiers and receivers on an equal basis. The MTX Jack Hammer JH300 under CEA-2006 regulations is rated at 200 Watts RMS x 1 channel with a 75dBA signal to noise ratio.

2-Ohm Stable: The MTX mono-amplifier is capable of handling load impedances down to 2-ohms. The amplifier is rated at 300 Watts RMS x 1 channel in 2 ohms with 1% THD.

Mono-Block Amplifier: The MTX Terminator JH300 is designed with specific features to power your subwoofer or subwoofers with a frequency range between 20 to 200 Hz. This amplifier is not designed to power a full-range speaker.

Class-D Design: The JH300 is a Class D mono-block amplifier, which uses digital switching to amplify audio signals. This design results in high efficiency and less heat.

Active Fan Cooling: Rather than weighing the amplifier down with heavy aluminum heat sinks, the Jack Hammer amplifier is cooled using a variable speed internal fan. The increasing output of the amplifier engages the fan to automatically increase its speed allowing more cool air to enter the amplifier. This keeps the amplifier performing at its peak level longer and prevents the amplifier from going into thermal shutdown due to overheating. The fan will automatically slow down when the amplifier's output is decreased.

Protection Circuits: The JH300 provides Thermal and Overload protection with LED indicators.

Stackable: You can stack up to three Jack Hammer amplifier on top of one another using the supplied "JackStands"

Controls

Crossover: The JH300 features a variable 40Hz to 200Hz, 24db/Oct crossover to match the frequency response of your connected subwoofer(s).

Bass Boost: The amplifier's bass boost is adjustable from 0-12dB at 40Hz.

Sub-Sonic Filter: This amp features an adjustable 20 to 50Hz, 12dB/octave Sub-Sonic Filter. Ultra-low frequencies that cannot be reproduced by a subwoofer do not become sound but become unnecessary oscillations, which affect sound by causing distortion. These frequencies also waste amplifier power and can cause damage to speakers. Setting the Sub-Sonic Filter between 20Hz to 50Hz cuts the frequencies below the respective frequency to improve the reproduction performance of the speakers by eliminating harmful distortion.

Remote Bass Knob: The MTX JH300 comes supplied with a wired remote bass knob which allows you to adjust the bass output of the amplifier. The bass knob is designed to be mounted underneath your vehicle's dash within arm's length so its easily accessible to the driver. The bass knob connects to the amplifier using the supplied 16.5' RJ-11 cord. The wired remote bass knob measures 2.655" wide x 0.755" tall x 1.955" deep.

Connections

Power/Ground/Turn-On Connections: The JH300 features set-screw terminals for the Power, Ground and Remote turn-on lead. The Power and Ground terminals will accommodate up to an 4 AWG wire, while the Remote turn-on lead will accept up to a 16 AWG wire.

RCA Inputs: The pair of RCA type line-level inputs have gain (Input Sensitivity) control. The Input Sensitivity control will accept an input signal of 250mV to 5.0 Volts.

Smart-Engage Speaker Level Input: The Jack Hammer JH300 comes with a set of speaker level input harnesses. This feature makes it easier to add an amplifier to a factory radio or to a receiver with no preamp outputs. When using the speaker-level inputs, the amp automatically turns on when it senses signal from the head unit, eliminating the need for a remote turn-on connection. In many cases, this feature will allow you to install the amplifier without removing your radio.

Parallel Speaker Connections: The amplifier is equipped with two pairs of speaker terminals for an easy parallel subwoofer connection. The set-screw speaker terminals will accommodate 12 to 8 AWG speaker wire.

EBC: RJ-11 connection for connecting the supplied wired remote bass knob.

Fuse: The amplifier is equipped with one 35-AMP fuse.
