About the MTX WET77-W
Sound on the waves
Sound on the waves
Marine applications pose unique challenges for speakers. There's water, salt spray, long hours of sunlight and temperature extremes that can ruin car speakers in no time. For marine applications, you need a speaker that's designed to cope with these challenges and built with the toughness to overcome them. MTX's Wet Series speakers can give you the dependability and great sound you crave.
MTX seals this speaker so it can't be damaged by moisture.
Built to perform
MTX's WET77-W 7-3/4" marine speakers feature a durable, waterproof polypropylene cone that'll stand up to humidity and UV exposure. A tough, sealed white ABS plastic basket protects each speaker's internal motor structure against corrosion, while the sharp-looking white grille will keep its looks while protecting the speaker from onboard mishaps.
The WET77-W speakers will handle up to 75 watts RMS, or 150 watts peak power. Their weatherproof construction makes them ideal as well for ATVs and other off-road vehicles too.

MTX WET77-W reviews
I bought these to replace two of my JL audio mx770 speakers because both tweeters had blown just outside of the warranty. I really didn't want to spend another $260 on a pair and very few manufactures make a direct replacement for the larger cut out of a 7.7" speaker. MTX had that option in a speaker that was a direct fit in to the cut out I had, that was a big plus. The MTX speakers also have a 5 years pro rated warranty and were half the price. moving on to the sound. The highs were not as good as the JL and the woofer could not produce Bass as good either. But remember its half the price twice the warranty and is a great deal in my opinion. If the Jl were a 10 this would be a 7 and thats good enough for me. Thanks MTX for a easy affordable replacement with awesome warranty.
Pros: Direct fit to replace my other 7.7" speaker, great 5 year pro rated warranty
Cons: Could have better highs and bass

Marine Tested: The WET77-W is designed to be weather resistant and durable in conditions where water, humidity, or element exposure is prevalent. It features a polypropylene cone that is water resistant, a sealed ABS basket that protects the internal motor structure, silicone insulated tinsel leads, and ASA plastic grilles with UV inhibitor that are durable and that won't fade over time. Channels in the speaker frames and grilles allow any water splashed on the cone to drain.
Mounting Hardware: Marine-grade stainless-steel mounting screws are included.
Grille: Grilles are included, but the speakers can be installed without them. If the woofer is mounted with the grille, several measurements are different:
- Mounting Height: changes from 0.727" to 1"
- Flange Height: changes from 0.25 to 0.75"
- Frame Diameter: changes from 7.41" to 7.775"
