XTC 12" Speaker Baffles get 2 thumbs up
Crutchfield customer from Brighton, CO on 11/1/2021
These 12" XTC baffles worked great for my in ceiling surround sound speakers. They were very easy to work with and will protect my speakers from all the tons of blown insulation in my attic.
Pros: Lightweight and easy to maneuver in tight spaces
Cons: Could be a little more rigid in strength

Great product and a good value to protect ceiling speakers!
Crutchfield customer from La Crescenta, CA on 4/28/2021
Used these to enclose some Definitive ceiling speakers, wanted to keep the speakers away from the insulation. Had to use 12" baffles for the 8" speakers and the 10" baffles for the 6.5". Gave me extra room for the speakers. They were tight in the next size down. Going to staple it to the back side of the drywall and then seal around the baffles to keep it well sealed.

Good Product
Crutchfield customer from Mahtomedi, MN on 9/26/2020
Pretty much what you would expect, although they are quite tall. Not sure what they will contribute in terms of sound as they are pretty thin, but a good way to keep the insulation off the speakers. Bought 12 inchers to cover 8 inch in-ceiling speakers with a cutout size of 10 inches and hey fit well.

Great Baffles
Crutchfield customer from Moncks Corner, SC on 8/31/2020
Works well. Built a 6" tall wood box (open top and bottom ) and stapled this to the top (wanted to give it about 1 cubic foot over the speaker) and covered the ceiling speakers. Used spray foam insulation to seal the whole thing in place. Speakers are clean and sound great. Attic was too tight for a backer box, but with the baffles it worked out great.

XTC 12" Speaker Baffles
Crutchfield customer from Wilmington, DE on 5/10/2020
I wanted the 2 baffles to cover 2 Definitive Technology 6.5 inch ceiling speakers I had previously installed, protecting them from attic insulation. Even with ceiling speakers being only 6.5 inches in diameter, I have to recommend the 12" baffles. The added space around the ceiling speakers just adds to a better air flow as well as the hole that I slightly enlarged to pass through the speaker wire and add a bit more air circulation. Very happy with both the protection and ease of installing. Nothing to it as long as you can gain access. Center and place over top of ceiling speaker and tape down the baffles to keep in place. The Crutchfield Tech had recommended using Flex Tape to hold them in place. Worked great. Thank you Crutchfield.
Pros: Cost and ease of installing them.
Cons: None that I am aware of.

These are great I put them in a 69 mustang and now all the sound comes inside the car and not in the trunk or under the dash. It added a lot of flexibility where are you mount your speaker you can mount anywhere as long as you have the baffles on the back

Great Product and Great Price.
Crutchfield customer from Harvest, AL on 2/13/2020
I purchased these speaker baffles for my home in ceiling speakers. I wanted as much sound to be forced downward and create better sound quality. This product was exactly what I was looking for to create the desired sound quality.
Pros: Great sound enhancement for in ceiling speakers and great protection from attic installation materials.
Cons: A little flimsy and needed some support on the edges.

Works exceptional with used with Polk 8" preconstruction brackets
60 Triumph from Crystal Lake, IL on 9/24/2016
I am building a new house and going to install the Polk RC80i speakers. I ordered the Preconstruction Ceiling Brackets so I could get the speakers positioned where I wanted them and speed the speaker installation. Per the building inspector (and he is a good guy), in the frozen tundra of Wisconsin you need to have something behind the speakers to prevent air infiltration and moisture issues. That is why I ordered the XTC 12" Speaker Baffles. I slit the base of the XTC enclosures and slid the speaker brackets through the slit. The XTC enclosures fit perfectly. The ID of the speaker baffle is just slightly larger than the ID of the speaker bracket. They work together well. I hate to admit it, but the (overpriced) speaker bracket and XTC baffle together are worth the money.
Pros: Works well with the Polk 8" preconstruction bracket.

XTC 12" Speaker Baffles
Crutchfield customer from Tulsa, OK on 9/10/2014
I actually used these behind my recessed ceiling speakers for my home theater system. It works great for keeping the loose insulation from falling in the living room if you have to remove them after they've been installed. I also installed the smaller size baffles in my truck doors and love them. They keep the speakers so clean and sheltered from moisture.
Pros: weight, price
Cons: none

Used for in-ceiling speaker baffles
camnick from Pittsboro,IN on 5/14/2011
I am having a house built, so I wired it for in-ceiling speakers. I cut the speaker holes and glued the baffles on the top of the ceiling drywall around the speaker hole. My builder insulated with spray foam on top of the ceiling and incapsulated the baffles. The baffles worked great for this application.
