I've tried out the Cleer Ally Plus true wireless earbuds in my home office, and I consider them overachievers in this category. These 100% wire-free headphones deliver tremendous bang for the buck. They boast active noise-cancellation, convenient controls, and a comfortable, secure fit. And I was especially struck by the vibrant, well-rounded sound from the 10mm drivers — larger than you'll find in most earbuds.
Cleer also offers something I haven't seen from anyone else: up to 10 hours of music playback on a single charge (with noise cancellation off). That's the longest battery life I've seen so far in this category. It's largely thanks to the state-of-the-art Bluetooth 5.0 chip, that uses much less energy than previous generation wireless chips.
Adaptive noise cancellation and a quick way to hear others
In my new work-from-home reality, I have my desk right near my kids' main play area. That's good when it's my turn to keep an eye on them, but bad when I need to hunker down and hit deadline. Luckily, the noise-canceling circuitry combined with some tunes (or a podcast) was strong enough to remove distractions, so I could focus.
But If someone quickly needed my attention, I simply pressed either earbud once. A touch sensor toggled from noise cancellation to "Ambient" mode so I could instantly hear important ambient noise or voices. Music kept playing while the built-in mics picked external sounds.

Comfortable in-ear fit that stays put
Cleer uses drivers and batteries that are physically larger than you find in most earbuds, but the weight is well-distributed. So there was little to no extra strain on my ears when in place. And they have a generous offering of soft-gel silicone ear tips — five different sizes to be exact.
For my ears, the "medium" size was just right. They helped create a noise-isolating seal, avoided in-ear pressure points, and — most importantly for me — stayed firmly in place as I moved around.
Clear sound with deep, punchy bass
Getting that fit is important for several reasons. Of course it's frustrating whenever earbuds slip out — especially if you're in the zone during work or workouts. But when earbuds move around, it causes sonic issues, too. That tight seal is crucial for solid bass response.
Fortunately, that's exactly what I got wearing these earbuds. It allowed those large 10mm drivers to do their thing. They deliver dynamic sound all around, but I was really impressed by the bass punch.
I really enjoyed that tight, powerful bass knock when I watched the recent DJ Premier-RZA producer "battle" on Instagram Live. While the two hip-hop icons dug into their extensive catalogues and shared memories about each classic hit, I could feel the pure joy and energy pump through the Cleer earbuds. And I certainly put the fit to the test — with the worries of the day set aside, I nodded my head through the entire instantly legendary DJ set.
Charging case banks hours of power
The included case banks about 20 hours of power. That's enough to recharge the earbuds twice while you're on the move. Plus you can pack the slim case neatly inside a bag or purse — with no worries about pulling out a mess of tangled wires when you're ready to use the earbuds.

Overview: The Cleer Audio Ally Plus True Wireless Noise Cancelling Ear buds give you the freedom to listen to your favorite music without annoying wires. The Ally Plus ear buds have Bluetooth 5.0, and are IPX4-certified for water- and sweat-resistance. Each ear bud and the included charging case has a rechargeable battery, to give you a combined 30 hours of playback time. Ally Plus includes multiple pairs of ear tips to help you find the most secure and comfortable fit. Each ear bud weighs 0.25 ounces each (0.5 oz. total), and 2.75 ounces with the charging case. The ear buds also come with a cloth carrying pouch.
Drivers: The Ally Plus ear buds are equipped with 10mm high-sensitivity Neodymium drivers for clear, dynamic listening. Qualcomm's 8th generation cVc (Clear Voice Capture) Beamforming technology makes your phone calls are echo-free by cancelling annoying background sounds. You can enjoy phone calls while wearing one (left or right) or both earbuds.
Noise Cancellation: The Ally Plus True Wireless ear buds feature Active Noise Cancelling technology to help you concentrate on your music or phone call without annoying ambient sounds. Microphones on the outside and inside of the ear buds picks up environmental sounds and cancels them with an equal, but opposite sound to let you tune out the world around you. The Ambient Mode uses those same microphones to pick up the noise from the outside world and plays it through the ear buds to help you stay aware of your surroundings without removing them. You can cycle through Noise Cancellation, Ambient Mode, and Off by tapping the control pad on either ear bud.
