About the Cleer Enduro 100
Wireless 'phones with up to 100 hours — yes, 100 hours — of battery life
The Cleer Enduro 100 Bluetooth headphones offer up to 100 hours of battery life (10 minutes of recharging provides enough power for 12 hours of listening).
Wireless 'phones with up to 100 hours — yes, 100 hours — of battery life
Cleer is quickly making a name for themselves in the world of headphones. They've become known for striking design, clear sound, and cutting-edge features. Take the Enduro 100 over-ear wireless headphones. Music and podcasts play wirelessly from your phone via Bluetooth 5.0 — the strongest, most reliable Bluetooth yet. And Cleer claims you get up to 100 hours of music playback on a single charge, by far the longest battery life I've ever seen.
I received a sample pair and stretched the limits of the Bluetooth range right away. Then later, I asked my wife to test out the unprecedented battery life, since she's often up late hours with our infant son. (You can read her take in the blue box below.)
Snug, secure fit and extended wireless range
The Cleer Enduro 100 has what I would call a form-fitting design. They feel very well-built and sturdy, but the earcups exert a solid amount of pressure on the side of my head. Still, the earpads are softer than most and the headphones stayed firmly in place as I walked around or moved my head.
Speaking of moving around, I was really impressed by the wireless range of these headphones. I didn't see an official spec on this, but I can say anecdotally that I suffered no audio dropouts when my phone was in the same room with me. And when I left my phone on my home office desk downstairs, I could walk to the far end of my basement, then upstairs — the music didn't skip a beat.
My wife Meghan's take:
When Jeff told me these headphones offered 100 hours of battery life, I had to give them a try. I've had a pair of basic over-ear Bluetooth headphones that have served me well for years. But after a few uses, I'll put them on and get the dreaded "low battery" warning. Not what I want to hear when I'm up at 3AM with my 8-month-old baby.
I often use wireless headphones with my phone to catch up on shows until he's settled and ready for his crib again. The Cleer Enduro 100s paired up easily with my iPhone® and I could keep track of the battery level right on my phone screen.
But I didn't have to worry much about that — after a week and a half (and several episodes), there was still well over half of the battery life left. These headphones also fit my head better than my previous headphones. The old ones would slide around some, and these didn't move at all.
I also used to think my old headphones sounded fine — especially for watching reality TV shows. But the Enduro 100s are definitely a step above. Speech is much clearer, and there's also this realistic sense of direction and distance.
That's something I wasn't really used to and didn't entirely expect. In fact, one character on a show yelled in from another room — and I took the headphones off, thinking someone in my own house was calling me. (Don't judge..we're all sleep deprived here.)
Rich, full sound from smooth-moving drivers
Cleer has some well-designed dynamic drivers under the hood. They use a patented "ironless" magnet configuration that allows for more fluid, free-flowing diaphragm movement. Cleer says this drastically reduces distortion across all frequencies, but particularly in the highs.
When listening to music, this results in a sound with prominent mids and clear, detailed highs that never get too harsh. As Meghan described above, the soundstage expands out further than you hear from other closed-back headphones in this price range. I was surprised at not only the width and height, but also how the different musical sounds occupied the extra space.
Finally, the bass was tight and tuneful. There are "boomier" headphones out there for sure, but I felt there was a nice amount of low-end knock.

Overview: The Cleer Audio Enduro 100 over-ear wireless headphones feature Bluetooth 5.0 with on-board controls for music playback and phone calls. Powered by a 3.7-volt rechargeable battery, the Enduro 100 has a playback time of up to 100 hours. The headphones come with a 4' audio cable and a soft fabric storage pouch.
Drivers: The Enduro 100 is equipped with patented 40mm Ironless drivers for a wide frequency response of 20-40k. Instead of a commonly-used iron pole, Enduro 100 has 20 rare-earth magnets assembled in a ring for a more focused magnetic field. This gives a long excursion of the magnesium diaphragm for deep bass, and much more control over the voice coil for exceptionally low distortion. The Enduro 100's wide frequency range makes them ideal for listening to your favorite hi-res audio files.
Bluetooth 5.0: Cleer Audio's Enduro 100 wireless headphones are equipped with Bluetooth 5.0 with support for SPP (v1.0), HFP (v1.6), A2DP (v1.3.1), and AVRCP (v1.6). The headphones feature Google Fast Pair 2.0 which makes is extremely easy to pair with compatible Android devices. When you power on the Enduro 100s, the pairing request appears almost immediately on your phone. The headphones also have Near Field Communications (NFC), allowing you to pair to your compatible device by simply touching it to the right ear cup. Enduro 100 supports Qualcomm's aptX HD, and AAC codecs.
Onboard Controls: The headphones feature controls on the left earcup for audio playback and phone calls. In addition to the power button, the Enduro 100 has volume up, volume down, and a multi-function button. The multi-function button controls music play/pause (1 press), answer/end incoming call (1 press), next track (double press), previous track (triple press), and Siri access (press and hold on iOS devices). The onboard controls will only work when the Enduro 100 is powered on.
Power: The headphones are powered by a built-in 3.7-volt Lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The battery charges is approximately 3 hours using the included USB-C cable. When the battery is fully charged, the headphones provides up to 100 hours of playback time with Bluetooth. A 10-minute quick charge will give you 12-13 hours of playback time. A 4' audio cable is included for listening to your music when the battery is exhausted, or when you can't listen wirelessly. When the audio cable is plugged in, Bluetooth is turned off, and the onboard controls are disabled.
