About the Cleer Goal

Packed with features and powerful drivers

Cleer has quickly become one of my favorite headphone newcomers in personal audio. I can count on their headphones to be thoughtfully designed and packed with value and performance for their price. The Goal earbuds are no different.

Music plays wirelessly via Bluetooth version 5.0, a newer version of the popular wireless technology that's stronger and more reliable. Their large 14mm drivers deliver hard-hitting, detailed sound tuned to bring the bass. Oh yeah — and there are absolutely no wires to get in the way of your workout.

Crutchfield employee review: Jay in Marketing, avid long-distance runner

Quick background, I run — a lot. Usually about 50-60 miles every week, so having a great audio option is important.  Also, I've tried a lot of different earbuds over the years, and have some specific requirements.

First and foremost, the 'buds have got to stay in place. Whether I'm running outside or on the treadmill, I don't want to constantly fuss with my headphones. When I first twisted the Cleer Goal, they felt a little “loose”. They touch very lightly on the ear ridges and sort of hover over the ear canal. But over the course of multiple runs, these buds didn't move.  They stayed right where I positioned them.

Second, running earbuds have to be comfortable.  Happy to report that the “loose” feel of the Cleer Goal proved extremely comfortable throughout numerous workouts.  As an added bonus, that loose fit allowed sweat to escape the ear canal.

Finally, of course, while workout earbuds must sound good, you have to be aware of your surroundings. Here's where the Cleer Goal really excelled. The sound quality is really strong, but I could still hear people trying to get my attention — or the rhythm of my feet hitting the ground. the bass response was slightly less than other earbuds I've tried, but the tradeoff for knowing exactly what was going on around me at all times was well worth it.

Cleer Goal Earbuds in case

Snap the earbuds into the included case to recharge them.

Charging case banks hours of power

These earbuds offer about six hours of battery life, but if your gym session SOMEHOW runs longer than that, don't worry. The included case banks about 14 additional hours of power to recharge the Goal earbuds. And just five minutes inside provides enough power for about an hour of listening. The case slips neatly inside a gym bag — so no mess of tangled wires when you're ready to use the earbuds.

Touch control over music and calls

Cleer also included some controls and features that make listening more convenient. An echo-free, dual-mic system ensures phone calls are clear. And there's a snappy touch panel on each earbud for controlling music, calls, and volume.

Product Research

Overview: The Cleer Audio Goal Sport True Wireless Earbuds are designed for the active lifestyle. The earbuds are IPX4-certified for water- and sweat-resistance. Each earbud and the included charging case has a rechargeable battery, to give you a combined 20 hours of playback time on one charge. Goal earbuds fit differently, compared to other true wireless earbuds, with Floating Freebit C-shaped skirts to hold them securely in place. Together, the earbuds weigh 0.55 ounces, while the included charging case weighs 2.25 ounces (with the earbuds).

Drivers: The Goal earbuds are equipped with custom-tuned 13.4mm neodymium drivers for powerful sound. Echo suppression technology and a dual mic design helps to make your phone calls clearer.

Floating Freebit®: Instead of eartips, Cleer Audio Goal Sport True Wireless Earbuds use a Floating Freebit® C-shaped Skirt to help keep your earbuds secure. The lightweight earbuds rest just outside of your ear canal, which provides more comfort and less pressure than sealing silicone tips. It also allows you to stay aware of your surroundings by allowing ambient sounds to pass through. After inserting the Goal earbuds into your ear, a quick Twist Fit secures the earbuds into place, with the C-skirts tucked gently behind the folds of your outer ear. The Goal Earbuds come with three sizes of silicone C-skirts for the best fit for your ear, plus one silicone sleeve (no skirt).

Touch Controls: Each earbud has a touch-sensitive pad that lets you control your music and phone calls through a combination of taps and holds. On either earbud, you can do a single tap (play/pause), double tap (next track or pick up/end call), triple tap (previous track), or tap and hold (Voice assistant or reject call). A built-in sensor will automatically pause the music when either earbud is removed during music playback, and restarts the music when you place the earbud back in. Controlling volume requires a double tap and hold on the right earbud (volume up continuously), or double tap and hold on the left earbud (volume down continuously). The Goal earbuds are compatible with your phone's default Voice Assistant: Siri (for iPhone) or Google Assistant (for Androids).

Bluetooth 5.0: Goal is equipped with Qualcomm's QCC3020 chipset for Bluetooth 5.0 technology. The earbuds support A2DP (v1.3), AVRCP (v1.6), and HFP (v1.7) Bluetooth profiles. The earbuds are compatible with SBC and aptX codecs for high quality audio reproduction.

Battery Power: Each Goal ear bud and their charging case all have built-in rechargeable batteries (earbuds: 85mAh (each); case 400mAh). The earbuds fully charge in the case in approximately two hours for a 6-hour battery life with the included USB-C cable. A 5-minute quick charge gives you approximately 1 hour of playback time. When the battery reaches less than 10% charge, a "Low Battery" voice prompt will sound. The charging case provides up to an additional 14 hours of battery life, for a total of 20 hours on a single charge. The charging case dimensions are: 2.673"W, 1.2"H, 2.184"D.

Customer Q&A

3 questions already asked

how do you use the built in mic? even when connected my phone just uses itâ??s built in mic instead of the earbuds.
[ anna  Sep 17, 2022 ]
1 answer
If your the mic keeps defaulting to your phone instead of the headphones you might want to try disconnecting from the headphones, forgetting the device and doing a fresh connection and see if that fixes the problem.
[ Arielle  Sep 17, 2022 ]  Staff
Are they water proof? Could you wear them in the shower
[ C  Mar 12, 2022 ]

Hello! The owner's manual says water resistant and sweat proof, but nothing more. You might email the manufacturer. Sorry I can't be more help.
[ Scott and  Mar 14, 2022 ]
So my earbuds are fine connecting to my phone but they aren't synced to each other so I end up having to pick up one earbud or the other. How do I sync them again so they are as one?
