A great design with many possibilities and options! Bravo Primare!

This unit is incredible. Amazingly intuitive and super easy to set up. The sound is magnificent. I'm upgrading my 10+ year old system and this is the first replacement component I've purchased. It's brought the system to life! There are so many options with streaming. Doing it on a built in Chromecast makes it flexible into the foreseeable future. Adding AirPlay was a stroke of brilliant common sense. You really need to play with it to unlock its possibilities, there are so many. A design that someone really thought about. Bravo!

Pros: A unit that sounds awesome with the ability to stay current in the foreseeable future. Easy to use. Many options to explore.

Cons: There's a learning curve. Be patient, it's worth it.

As a standalone player it is a wonderful performer. Well-built and with a very good sounding DAC and a well laid out remote. On that, I give it 5 stars. However, look around there are players at half the price that sound just as good. Set up and usage for wireless and streaming: Is a failure, I give it 2 out 5 stars This replaced a Cocktail Audio x14. Ripper-Streamer- Music Server. Set up on X14 could not be simpler. Connect a Wi-Fi dongle - ran the network set up - i-Service menu and boom. Stable and solid streaming of Tidal within 10 minutes. By contrast the Primare CD15 initial set up for Wireless was hell. I did not like the devices dependence on Google Home to initialize its wireless connectivity at all. The provided directions are not nearly detailed enough, so I had to spend way too much time deciphering by trial and error in order to get right what is required. Even after I got unit on my Wi-Fi , the connection unlike my X14, kept dropping. So in the end, I wound up doing a network run and connecting the unit via Ethernet cable. Connecting UPNP and streaming from NAS with the Primare App. This was an 3 out 5 stars experience. Unlike other streamers I used where you click on an album it will automatically play the entire contents. This unit plays only one file then stops. You have to create a playlist and add a single file at a time. It works but I found it to be labor intensive and non intuitive. A great sounding player but its apps are feeble and non-intuitive

Pros: Outstanding fit and finish Small foot print Good sound quality from streams and CD's

Cons: Overly dependent on apps that are not well thought out and weak in their functionality. Requires investment in an iPhone, iPad, or Droid in order to get the most out of it. Works best hard wired to you network with an Ethernet cable. Should really contain a more sensitive WiFi modem and run equally well with that. Home, Primare, Chrome-cast and Airplay offer no audio advantage and get in the way rather than heighten a positive user experience.
