iFi Pro iDSD Signature

I put a ton of money and time into my vinyl section which I love to listen to. I love the warmth and "musicality" of a great vinyl section. Til now even with an expensive DAC (I won't mention the name but it was 3k) I did not find the sound of digital could even come close to my records. Till NOW! I could not be happier with this product. I actually love listening to it and I believe if you love the sound of vinyl you will find the tube plus mode to your liking as will as the bit perfect plus. It also appears if you like that traditional "digital sound" you can bypass the tubes and add the filters to get what you like. I use apple play to get the music streaming app to work with this DAC which I have connected directly via an Ethernet Cable. Please make sure to PUSH the WPS button and make sure the Ifi pairs with your router. I also use apple play to play the CD's I have on my computer wirelessly. When you pair the router your computer and phone which are connected to your network should be able to send info to the ifi. As a streamer and a DAC this unit is a homerun.

My best DAC
Michael from Phoenix on 8/14/2022
The quality of the audio is superb. The Quad Array of TI Burr Brown DAC chips, the superb design, the ability to switch from pure digital to tubes, to Tube+. The filters are excellent. I spent most of my time on the Gibbs Transient Optimized Filter mode. Another pearl with this DAC, it features upscaling. It will increase most inputs to DSD512/1024! or bit-perfect/+ mode. In MQA mode it sticks to MQA and will disallow changing the filters or upscaling, since if you are playing MQA it defaults to bit-perfect mode automatically. The sound is layered, textured, deep, rich, and usually gives me goosebumps, or gets my heart pumping. I'm not saying my other DACs do not provide this similar experience, but the PRO iDSD Signature does it so well. The only gripe is that explanations directing you on how to utilize DLNA/APP mode was a little thin but does function as intended. However, the quality is best over USB in my experience, and would consider BT/wireless more of a spot patch solution as opposed to the general intended purpose of a DAC of this quality. This is the one where you get in a comfy seated or relaxed position, put in literally any music you enjoy and prepare to take a sonic adventure through an auditorium filled with exquisite detail. The headphone "line/gain driver, don't call it a headphone amp per the various manuals" amp actually functions surprisingly well. Great DAC/AMP.
Pros: Spot on DAC, extremely detailed, upscales most audio save MQA. But plays MQA beautifully.
Cons: not much, but the directions around the APP mode could be more clear.

iFi Pro iDSD Signature
John from Midway, UT on 2/9/2022
This is the second unit and seems to be performing as advertised. Usb a little less stabile than expected, but, otherwise everything seems to be working well. WiFi reliable and Ap better than expected - but could do with updating plus provision for Tidal connect. Great sound with Focal clear. Maybe a little "smoother" than the Pro model. The first unit (pro) was returned after 1 month. 4.4mm Jack hopelessly unreliable. Tubes developed static after about 50 hours. Just intensified making tube mode unusable. Would unhesitatingly recommend.
