Features

Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX CS-GM31L is a radio replacement interface for select GM LAN V2 (LIN) Bus vehicles. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio and enables retention of specific factory features (such as steering wheel controls) when replacing a factory installed radio in select GM vehicles.

Note: This interface does not retain the vehicle's factory OnStar or Bose amplifier, if equipped.

Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX CS-GM31L radio replacement interface works with the following 2014-2018 GM LAN V2 (LIN) Bus vehicles.

Steering Wheel Controls: The CRUX CS-GM31L also features a steering wheel control output for Alpine, Blaupunkt, Boss, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony, and Soundstream aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is outfitted with). There is also a SWC adapter which converts the right-angle 3.5mm jack into a 3-wire interface for some aftermarket Boss head units. The CS-GM31L interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its 4 dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).

Backup Camera w/ Reverse Gear Output: The CS-GM31L allows you to retain your GM vehicle's backup camera through the included backup camera harness with male composite video connector. Your in-dash aftermarket stereo must have a composite video camera input and a built-in video monitor. The radio replacement interface module also provides a Reverse Gear output for automatic rearview switching with your aftermarket receiver.

Retained Accessory Power (R.A.P.): The ignition power source of most GM vehicles keeps the radio on until one of the doors is opened; this feature is lost when replacing the factory radio with an aftermarket head unit without the proper installation accessories. The GS-GM31L is designed to retain the R.A.P. feature and keep the radio powered after the key is off, until the driver door is opened or the OEM timer ends; whichever happens first.

Warning Chimes: The Crux CS-GM31L retains factory warning & safety chimes through the use of an on-board speaker. The volume of the chime speaker is adjustable through a potentiometer on the interface module.

+12V Accessory Output: In many GM vehicles, there is no 12-volt accessory wire in the factory harness, which requires the installer to run an accessory wire to the fuse box or underneath the steering column when installing an aftermarket radio. The CS-GM31L is designed to provide a 12V/5A switched accessory output (red wire).
