Worked for most part
Crutchfield customer from Grand Island, FL on 12/6/2020
2006 Ford Explorer
Worked for basic wires, though found not all pins lined up correctly and thus some functions did not work. Ex. Illumination wire not existing on my ford though I'm sure these are mass produce for multiple models. Had to run some of my own feeds to gain full function. Did contact tech support and we came to same conclusion about the ford explorer.
Pros: Easy wire diagram Easy instructions Decent tech support
Cons: Not fully designed for 2006 explorer xlt without sub. No illumination control without rewire, no radio off till door open and poor radio signal quality possibly from loose fitting adapter.

Good, but not perfect
Nickolaus from Fort Wayne, IN on 12/6/2020
2007 Lincoln Town Car
Decent harness with everything pretty much ready to go. Wires are kind of a rats nest. I opted to put small zip ties along it to keep things a bit tidier. The steering wheel control interface is cheap and questionable. 75% of the time the interface doesn't respond. Several pushes of the controls later the radio finally recognizes.
Pros: Works OK
Cons: Messy wiring that can be better managed Flaky steering wheel control interface

This was advised as being able to work with my 2004 Eddie Bauer Explorer. Does not work so far. I am using it with the Alpine iLX-W650 receiver and when I use the volume up button it will change radio stations. When I use the Volume down button it will increase volume. I have tried a second unit and it does the same thing.

Contradictory Application Info
Crutchfield customer from Orlando, FL on 9/5/2020
The Crux Steering Wheel Control (SWC) wiring harness was well made and easy to install but ONLY after resolving an error made by the Crutchfield Tech who assembled the ReadyHarness incorrectly. Adding to the confusion is the fact that the Crux packaging for this item and the cruxinterfacing.com website itself list contradictory part numbers for my 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac application... SWRFD-60 vs SWRFD-60L. Thankfully my *second* call to Crutchfield Tech Support connected me with a knowledgeable and courteous staff member who guided me thru the process to a successful install. My factory steering wheel controls do control my new Kenwood head unit, but are sluggish in operation compared to the original factory radio. Still worthwhile, however.

Just another reason I love ordering from Crutchfield. I was actually going to order multiple pieces to meet my needs, but when I called and talked to the friendly Crutchfield staff, I was informed that you had this kit which not only kept my steering wheel controls, but also had the appropriate antenae connection. So appreciative for all the help. Mounted up super easy with only about 20 minutes of wiring work. The instructions were pretty easy to follow and it applies to multiple radios with the dip switches. It's behind the stereo, so I couldn't take a picture of it, but it works flowlessly. Thanks you Crutchfield.
Pros: Easy to install Great instructions
Cons: Slightly clearer explanation of the 4 pin connector and how it wires in.

Doesn't work
Thomas from Indianapolis, IN on 3/24/2020
I connected this product to my 2006 F-150 between a Kenwood DMX9706S and the factory wiring. Set the switches to both Kenwood, then to JVC (they are now the same company). Still no steering wheel controls for tuning or volume (they work on the factory radio) and the subwoofer doesn't have the same output it did before. Maybe I should have just waited for the Maestro product to come in stock and avoided this. I verified all wiring connection twice. Everything is correct.

Great option to any car stereo system if you wanna retain factory steering wheel features, but unfortunately for mine after i set up the dip switches per manual the features wouldnt work properly, if i used volume up down on the steering wheel it would either work backwards or switch audio options on the Pioneer HU i installed, also if i used my right turn signal it would mute the stereo system. I just unplugged for now and everything seems to be fine without it, although it is nice to have the steering wheel functions its not necessary to use the system i have.
Pros: Great add on feature for retaining steering wheel funciotns
Cons: Doesnt exactly work in my 04 Expedition, I called tech support as well and they we're stumped about what i was experiencing, they suggested i do some kind of steering column clock reset which i was not about to tear into that, so i just removed the component from the set up, not overly happy about spending money on something i cant even use.

Not the same product per the website Instructions link
Crutchfield customer from Elsberry, MO on 5/26/2019
2004 Ford F-150
Received this product labeled as a SWRFD-60L Wiring Interface. This does not match the online configuration with a 4 x 4 DIP switch to set up the Radio / Vehicle pairing. The one I received has a 3 x 3 DIP switch configuration and simply won't work per the instructions, nor did the underwhelming technical support help to resolve the matter. We confirmed all wiring and tried every possible combination of settings; we simply were unable to get all 4 of the Steering Wheel controls to function correctly. No matter what we did the button to advance radio stations/song tracks would not function other than as a duplicate of +volume. The tech response was just to end up sending a replacement of the same item, but he couldn't be bothered to figure out why the online technical sheet shows it as a 4 x 4 DIP switch vs. the 3 x 3 DIP switch and couldn't be bothered to find out if I was just going to receive another of the same incorrect item. I'm waiting to receive the replacement as I write this, but I have little faith that it will work out... I'm obviously not happy about the outcome at this point.
Pros: None
Cons: Does not fully link up with 2004 Ford F-150 as advertised. Came as 3x3 DIP switch unit versus 4x4 unit per website.

Ken from Cumming, GA on 1/14/2019

Very nice that Crutchfield has harness available which makes install somewhat plug and play. It comes as a one fits all solution in that it includes wires for different situations which means that some are not used which when combined with less than great instructions created confusion that led me to call tech support 3 times. I won't go in to detail but if the Crutchfield folks took a little time to install different units using this harness they could easily clarify the documentation and save themselves a bunch of tech support calls.

This thing works perfect in my 2004 Ford Eddie Bauer Explorer. Steering wheel functions are great. Paid extra for "ready harness" wiring. That was good except for the setting of the dip switches. Didn't work in position Crutchfield wired during "ready harness" process. I printed all pdfs they gave me and came to conclusion for my vehicle it should be in a different position. Still steering wheel control failure. Called the number that came in "ready harness" bag. Less than 2 minutes Crutchfield guy gives me a 3rd different dip pin config and now working perfectly. Saved mass over car stereo store. Thanks!!!!

Wiring made easy
Craig from Sheffield Lk, OH on 5/15/2018
2009 Ford Edge
The unit works as expected. It took some time to get the analog setup correct for my 2009 Ford Edge. Once we figured out the hidden message in the instructions it was all good. When figuring out how many "buttons" your steering wheel has, count the number of positions each "button" moves. That is your total number of buttons. My Edge has 4 buttons but one is a rocker (seek + / -) which makes it a 5 button setting based on the Crux instructions. Other than that, the wiring harness was perfect for my application as I expected from Crutchfield.
Pros: Follow the color coding, doesn't get easier.
Cons: For a Ford, count your steering wheel control positions, not the physical buttons. The instructions are a little vague when it comes to this.

The harness is well constructed but several of the signals were left off the connectivity list. This is more an issue with Crutchfield than the harness. I had to guess at a few of the wire connections. Crutchfield's reputation is for their helpful instructions. I found them lacking. The phone support was helpful but should not be necessary. Works but doesn't connect to everything
Mark from Havre De Grace, MD on 2/9/2018
2005 Ford F-250 Super Duty
Can only give this a 3 as it didn't integrate to everything I thought it would. I replaced the OEM AM/FM/CD/Satellite/Sync radio in my 2009 Ford F250 as I hated the really small buttons and wanted ApplePlay. It didn't include an adapter for either the Back-up Camera or the Satellite Radio antenna. Had to splice a RCA connector to the 2 wires (White/green stripe was positive, Brown wire negative). Used the Satellite antenna that came with the radio, but if there would have been an adapter, I wouldn't have had to fish a new one into place. It's also a very large wire bundle, that took a considerable amount of time to manipulate to get the radio to fit into the dash.
Pros: If it had all connectors required it would be great
Cons: It's a big wire bundle and all the wire splices occur at the same location, so it gets difficult to package inside the dash with the radio.

this harness and interface worked great. set up was easy and it worked perfect the first time, no issues. I looked at a couple of other steering wheel control adapters and they had poor ratings and complaints on instructions and installation. this was almost as easy as a factory replacement.
Pros: easy install, good instructions
Cons: had to look in the install manual to find if it was compatible with my head unit before purchase, it should have been in the product listing.

Good news / bad news
Crutchfield customer from Duncan, Ok on 6/7/2017
2008 Ford F-150
This was the nightmare to my install. I have an '08 F150 with a factory subwoofer. So, as per my selection, this is what came with my Kenwood DPX702BH. Most of the wiring was straightforward and I had the unit powered up fairly quick for a test run. All four doors fired up but not the sub. So...........emails (and eventually calls) ensued to make sure everything was wired correctly. I got a voltage meter and checked everything and it all seemed like it was right. I couldn't work on it every day due to family or having to work or waiting on responses. So this drug out for several weeks while I surfed the web forums and contacting the maker of the unit (Crux). They were no help. I contacted two other harness manufacturers and got a helpful reply from one of them (Metra). The guy gave me the part number, so I ordered it, had it in in a couple of days, installed it and the sub fired right up. I ended up leaving the Crux wired up so that I could retain my steering wheel controls and then bypassed the voltage regulator and used the Metra connector for the sub. So ultimately, either the 12v-5v stepdown regulator on the Crux unit was bad, or the wiring itself didn't mate up correctly. I'd have to take it all back apart to run a voltage meter on everything to nail it down, but once it started working, I was tired of having my dash gutted, so I put it all back together and am listening to my tunes now
Pros: Retains steering wheel controls
Cons: Didn't fire the sub

After getting over the initial shock of all the wires and spending about 30 minutes or so studying the schematic and setting the dip switches for my vehicle it all came together very well. It works as advertised, no issues, including steering wheel control. My only complaint is the pictures of the steering wheel were a little hard to read and it wasn't clear that the 3.5MM connector for my Pioneer was supposed to plug into the "remote control" port on my Pioneer. But that is what Crutchfield technical support is for. Crutchfield is #1 in customer service and technical support. By far the BEST I've ever dealt with in any industry.

Good Product
Matt from Seattle, WA on 4/21/2017
2004 Ford F-150
Good product. Came with everything necessary to connect aftermarket head unit to factory wiring harness on 2004 F150 Lariat and all steering wheel controls work correctly. Instructions were very generic and it required a little bit of YouTube research to figure out some of the connections between the wiring interface and the specific aftermarket head unit. Would be really great if they could figure out how to add a built in resistor to stop the factory subwoofer pop, or at least provided a warning and possibly an option to purchase a suitable resistor from Crutchfield at the time instead of having to make a trip to RadioShack after the fact to get one to fix the pop, but for a one size fits all product I can't really hold that against them.
Pros: Maintains all steering wheel controls
Cons: Instructions could be improved

Probably a better product for newer vehicles
bill from San Antonio, TX on 4/11/2017
2005 Ford F-150
This interface is useful in maintaining steering wheel controls and comes with options for multiple vehicles and stereos combinations which was a Godsend. For a 2005 F150 Lariat it involved cutting a connector off of one of the included wiring options and using that to wire to the stereo I was mounting in my truck, a Blaupunkt Austin 440. The Crux interface "box/module" has DIP switches to be set according to the brand of radio and DIP switches to be set according to the vehicle. For MY application the radio DIP switches were actually set for a Sony radio and the vehicle switches were set for "Off-Off-On." My steering wheel only has two buttons for "volume up and down" and "memory up and down" a newer vehicle with more buttons would benefit more from this product with more options available through the radio.
Pros: Kept my steering wheel controls
Cons: Cost versus benefit for MY vehicle

This wiring harness is well marked and the quality is decent. Color coding is good and saves plenty of time. The literature is fairly good but you still need to have some knowledge. I would not want to wire a new receiver into a modern vehicle without it. Hook up was easy, factory sub started popping when shutting the truck off after install, the volume works as it should, the skip next button works as it should, the previous song button changes my source, -Pioneer deh-x6700BT Adding the aftermarket radio definitely improved the factory sub quality and made the door speakers a little louder. Great concept poor implementation
Adam from Elizabethtown, KY on 7/13/2016
2007 Lincoln Mark LT
I purchased this product since it was an all in one harness that maintained the Aux port. I couldn't find anything else that maintained my factory Aux port. Everything worked fine except I had a "pop" from my factory amp when turning the truck off. After hours of troubleshooting with support and my Dash in pieces for a couple weeks I decided to try the standard Metra harness/12v-5v stepdown adapter/ASWC-1. This worked flawlessly. I did verify the crux harness was putting out 5v like it should have. In hindsight, I wonder if wiring the steering wheel control to the chassis vs. harness ground would have resolved the issue. (This would mean cutting the crux harness) That is the only thing I can think of in the harness that would have been holding the power to give the "pop".
Pros: All in one harness that maintains Aux port, Steering wheel controls, factory sub Crutchfield support was great and they were very willing to help and did everything they could to correct my issue
Cons: I couldn't get rid of the turn off pop. Crux support was mediocre. They responded, but that's about all. It was usually a one line email and they seemed disinterested in helping to resolve the issue.
