About the Crux SWRHN-62L Wiring Interface

Bob Bihlmayer

Add a new radio

Installing a new car stereo can often mean losing your vehicle's steering wheel audio controls. Crux's wiring interface solves this problem, allowing you to install a new receiver while retaining those controls. The interface also includes an adapter for the powered antenna. The interface does not support amplified systems, and it doesn't retain factory navigation or your rear seat entertainment system.

You'll only be able to retain your steering wheel audio controls with a compatible car stereo made by Alpine, Boss, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Dual, Jensen, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, Sony or Soundstream. No other brands are currently compatible.

Features

Honda Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX SWRHN-62L is a radio replacement interface for select 2008-2013 Honda vehicles. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio to enable retention of factory features when replacing a factory installed radio in select Honda vehicles. This interface is also pre-programmed for retention of steering wheel controls.

Note: This Honda radio replacement interface does not support factory amplified systems, RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment), or Factory Navigation.

Compatibility: The CRUX SWRHN-62L is supported by the following 2008-2013 Honda vehicles; with non-amplified and non-navigation factory systems only.

Steering Wheel Control Retention: The CRUX SWRHN-62L also features a steering wheel control output for Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, JVC, Jensen, Dual/Axxera, Boss and other aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is fitted with). You will also need to set the SWRHN-62L's dip-switches to the appropriate settings for your brand of aftermarket radio (see installation instructions).

Wiring Harness: The SWRHN-62L includes a wiring harness with a single 24-pin molex connector that plugs into your vehicle's factory radio harness. the SWRHN-62L interface module. On the other end of the harness is a 12-pin connector that plugs into the interface module. The wiring harness also provides bare-wire leads (power/ground, speaker, illumination, antenna, and vss) which will need to be hardwired to your aftermarket head unit's wiring harness. In addition, there is an antenna adapter to allow your aftermarket head unit to connect with the vehicle's factory AM/FM antenna.

Customer Q&A

2 questions already asked

Q
Do I need to hard wire to the Ebrake with this unit?
[ Edward  Aug 18, 2022 ]
1 answer
A
When using this Crux SWRHN-62L wiring interface in an approved install E M, you will need to connect the parking brake signal connection if you are using a touchscreen radio. You have probably noticed that this harness does not have that connection in it! That's ok, when you chose Readyharness we extended that wire and put a little tap tool on the end to make connecting a breeze! We give you lifetime Technical Support on any orders and we can tell you where you make those connections anytime you need, that's what we are here for! I've sent you an email with the exact location, and a picture too.

Q
There are two wires that aren't on the diagram sheet (brown and red with white stripe) anyone know what these are for?
[ Daniel  Sep 25, 2020 ]
1 answer
A
Under the details section for this harness it specifies what each wire is for. The red/white wire is for the VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor). Brown is not used. Most newer radios with wireless carplay/android auto require this vss wire for the wireless connection.
