Color for color wire harness. Easy install and diagrams for the steering wheel controls. So easy my son could do it.
Pros: Easy color for color wire for a Kenwood DX Apple CarPlay dual din radio.
Cons: Has a red with white and brown that are not needed. Just make sure to tape them off for protection of grounding anything out.

The instructions for the steering wheel for a alpine ilx650 was wrong the combo only allowed the volume down to turn up the volume and the mode button would turn the volume down and the volume up would change the channel the ch up and down DIDNT work with the printed instructions for the alpine. I played around with the combos and found if you leave only 6 and 7 on and the rest off all the steering wheel buttons will work correctly!!
Pros: Works!!! 2009 Honda Accord. Very easy to wire up color for color I only had to call about the yellow blue wire and the rep told me it connects to the parking brake. On the accord it's the lime green wire I connected it and it works!!
Cons: Instructions for the alpine combo are wrong for the ilx 650w alpine i posted the correct combo for the steering wheel!

Zeki from Lawrence, KS on 4/1/2021

Excellent product. I recommend using this product plus the additional wiring for your car. Documentation is good enough but if you are replacing a car radio one in a while ( last one was 30 years ago) this saves a lot of time and frustration. I had 2 questions called Crutchfield late Saturday. Kali was great support she send pictures and she marked the pictures I send. In 10 min I was able solve the problem.
Pros: Time saver No errors Simplified installation
Cons: None other that additional cost. But how much is your weekend worth to you?

The wiring instructions were not very good. There was not good instructions in regards to connecting the power cable for the antenna. Outside of that, once I reconnected everything the harness works as expected.

First time using the Crux harness. I soldered this with a Pioneer AVH harness. Wiring was easily identified and with the help of some harness specific online videos, a micro bypass was wired in as well as a backup camera. Once installed, with the car put together, everything worked well. I'm looking at installing the same head unit and the Crux interface in my wife's Silverado, pending they have an interface that retains Onstar with XM Radio services.

An absolute must buy
Andrew from Hawthorne, CA on 4/29/2017
2013 Honda Fit Sport
These Crutchfield harnesses are the magic behind-the-scenes when you install an aftermarket unit. I have done this twice with Crutchfield and although you will want to take your time to get this step right, it's pretty straightforward if you can follow instructions. I was very pleased that the steering wheel control package works flawlessly. You definitely want that feature or it will (in my mind) lower the value of the whole car. So this might be more specific to the Pioneer unit I bought but I was disappointed that there were not more notes on some of the "extra" unused wires. I'm pretty sure one of the wires on this harness would have made the "dim when lights go on" feature work but it just wasn't clear and getting that wire wrong could have messed things up. I would have gladly called Crutchfield support but they aren't open Saturdays. Im still happy with this product and the overall install.
Pros: Works well
Cons: Directions are a bit cryptic. They aren't so much directions. It's more like a map with a legend.

Finally, a SWC that's vehicle-specific and actually WORKS!! No guessing or programming, which version to use, or splicing into the factory wiring. This is the way to go if you're adding an aftermarket stereo to your vehicle and want to retain the steering wheel controls. It's literally plug n' play, of course, after connecting your new radio harness to the supplied wiring factory adapter (which is also included). On my particular installation, the antenna adapter was included as well. I was amazed how easy this was, and a HUGE step up from those PAC SWC adapters. Just connect the harness, set the DIP switches for the brand of stereo & use the included 3.5mm plug for the SWC, and you're off & running. Thank you CRUX & Crutchfield!!
Pros: Everything you need is included, simple instructions & simple installation, works flawlessly
Cons: None that I know of.....

Although I am very pleased with how well this product integrates the controls and sound of your aftermarket stereo to the stock system, one thing was overlooked and I was not warned of in advance is that you lose the stock subwoofer. I was able to amplify and control it separately, but have tons of experience with car audio. Should have an option to buy specific harness for subwoofer connection and low wattage amplifier to complete system.
Pros: Ease of installation
Cons: You lose subwoofer

Bikerbudmatt from Connecticut on 10/2/2015
2010 Honda Ridgeline
For my vehicle (2010 Honda Ridgeline) Crutchfield offers 3 interface kits to the steering wheel controls. I chose this over the other two because it is set up through DIP switches rather than trying to "autosense" the settings it should use. A DIP combination means that you are using a pre-programmed configuration that won't be thrown off by electrical transients or removing the car electrical power. The switch plugs into the wiring harness. The receiver gets installed. And your steering wheel controls work. One downside seems to be an occasional lag between pressing the steering wheel volume control and getting a response from my Sony receiver. I don't know whether this is the fault of the interface or the receiver. Other controls work instantaneously. Love it.
Pros: Configured through switch combination. Dedicated setting for vehicle. Simple installation.
Cons: Occasional latency in volume controls (but may not be fault of interface).
