No negatives. Connection is easy.

I added this to my backup camera install as a just-in-case measure. I ran power and ground wires from the camera to the back of my JVC head unit (alongside the RCA video cable). This Crux PS-RVC is installed behind my head unit. "Power in" is attached to my stereo's switched power wire (red wire), "power out" is attached to the backup camera feeding power to the camera, and "ground" shares a common ground wire with my backup camera and head unit. This probably wasn't needed and likely isn't helping a problem that doesn't exist. But the camera works great and install was easy.
Pros: Doesn't degrade the video from the camera. Easy to install.
Cons: It costs money. You may not know if you need it until there is a problem.

Backup camera noise issues
Crutchfield customer from Sugar Land, TX on 11/27/2020
Did install on my Audi A4 to suppress the noise disruption on the backup camera when engine was running. Although I was skeptical initially that it would work, however, it was the best investment I have ever made for the result. Perfect picture representation in reverse.
Pros: Inexpensive, great quality, it works!!!!
Cons: None

No More Noise on that Back-up Camera!
Crutchfield customer from Warren, MI on 7/22/2019
Recently purchased an aftermarket WiFi backup camera and 4" monitor package for my Kia Soul. I installed this in the tail light circuit so I could decide when to use the camera. At idle , the camera worked fine. The engine generated line noise made it impossible to use . Then, I discovered the Crutchfield solution. Simple, straight-forward cable end markings make this a 'no-brainer' to install correctly. The result, --- clear image, no noise, simple solution to an obvious design flaw by the backup camera manufacturers. They should all include the Crux PS-RVC in every package they sell!
Pros: Simple to install, instructions are on the part, takes very little space, immediate correction at all engine speeds
Cons: NONE
