Keep those factory options
Keep those factory options
Crux's SWRVW-52B interface ensures that you can keep the factory steering wheel controls and backup camera in your Volkswagen when installing a compatible aftermarket radio. Connect this interface to the wires on your new stereo's wiring harness, and you've covered the power, ground, and factory speaker connections for your new stereo. The interface also provides the reverse gear, illumination, and speed sense outputs you'll need to install a navigation receiver. This interface does not retain Bluetooth® or Sirius satellite radio, and it will not work with Volkswagen amplified systems.
Note: the SWRVW-52B interface allows you to keep your steering wheel controls with radios from Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer, and Sony. Your VW's driver information display will show the last information that was shown before you removed the factory radio.

More details on the Crux SWRVW-52B Wiring Interface
Volkswagen Radio Replacement Interface: The CRUX SWRVW-52B is a radio replacement interface for select Volkswagen vehicles. It facilitates the integration of an aftermarket radio and enables retention of factory features when replacing a factory installed radio; including steering wheel control and backup camera.
Vehicle Compatibility: The CRUX SWRVW-52B is compatible with the following Volkswagen vehicles without a factory amplifier (not compatible with factory amplified systems).
- The factory driver information display will show the last information that was shown prior to removing the factory radio.
- This interface does not retain the factory Bluetooth or Sirius Satellite Radio.
- Not compatible with factory amplified systems.
Steering Wheel Control Retention: The CRUX SWRVW-52B also features a steering wheel control output for Pioneer, Sony, Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, JVC, and Blaupunkt aftermarket head units. The steering wheel control output consists of a right-angle 3.5mm connector and a light blue/yellow wire (use the connection that your aftermarket head unit is fitted with). The SWRBM-57 interface module will work with any of the listed aftermarket head units, by setting its three dip-switches (see owner's manual for appropriate setting).
Note: There are two steering wheel control harnesses provided. One is labeled for Alpine, Clarion, Kenwood, and JVC. The other is labeled for Pioneer & Sony. You will only use one of these harnesses based on your type of radio.
Factory Backup Camera: In addition, the CRUX SWRVW-52B lets you retain your vehicle's factory backup camera (if equipped) through its male composite video RCA connector. Your new aftermarket head unit must have a composite video camera input and feature an integrated video monitor.
Navigation Outputs: The CRUX SWRVW-52B radio replacement interface module provides a VSS (vehicle speed sense) and a Reverse Gear output to make installing an aftermarket Navigation radio simpler and less time consuming.
