Satellite Radio Ready: You can connect a satellite radio tuner to the KD-DV6200 in several of ways. The unit is directly compatible with the SIRIUS SIR-JVC1 Satellite Tuner for JVC (item # 607SIRJVC1). The Terk XMDirect universal XM Satellite Radio tuner (209XMD1000) can be connected to and controlled by the head unit when used with the XMDirect Smart Adapter for JVC (209XMDJVC1). A plug-n-play satellite receiver can also be connected to the line input.
Note: In addition to the optional satellite tuner, you will also need the proper antenna and a subscription to SIRIUS or XM Satellite Radio.
Intelligent Equalizer (iEQ): There are six factory preset equalizer curves; Rock, Classic, Pops, Hip Hop, Jazz, and User. Each of the presets can be customized by adjusting any of the seven EQ bands between -5 and +5. One customized curve can be programmed into the User preset.
USB Port: The front-panel USB port allows you to playMP3 and WMA files stored on a USB memory device. One partition USB devices less than 4GB are compatible and MP3 files with a bit rate from 32-320 kbps and WMA files with a bit rate from 5-320 kbps are supported.
Crossover: The crossover point on the subwoofer output can be set to 85, 125, or 165 Hz. There is also high pass crossover which affects the speaker level and front and rear line level outputs. The high pass crossover point is the same as the subwoofer frequency, or it can be turned of so those outputs are full range.
Amplifier Gain Control: When you are using the KD-DV6200 with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to Low Pwr the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 30 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to High Pwr and the volume control will range from 0 to 50.
Station Naming: The KD-DV6200 allows you to assign names of up to 8 characters for AM and FM stations (30 station maximum).
CD Naming: You can also name up to 30 CDs with 32 character (or less) names. The CD name is displayed when it's played in the built-in CD player or a compatible CD changer.
Direct Track Access: You can directly access CD tracks 1-12 by pressing the station preset buttons. If a preset button is pressed for less than 1 second, the track corresponding to the number on the preset button is selected (for tracks 1-6). When a preset button is pressed for more than 1 second, the track corresponding to the number above the preset button is accessed (for tracks 7-12).
Source Volume: The relative volume of each audio source can be adjusted and saved so the volume doesn't change when you switch inputs.
+10/-10 and +100/-100 Buttons: When selecting CD tracks or an MP3 file within a folder, you can jump ahead or jump back to the nearest track/file number that is a multiple of 10 by using the +10 or -10 buttons on the remote. For example, when selecting track/file 32 from track/file 6, you can press the +10 button three times (>10, >20, >30) to get to 30, then the track up button twice (>31, >32) to get to track/file 32. For MP3/WMA tracks with a number greater than 99, use the +100/-100 buttons.
Rear Panel Auxiliary Input: A rear panel auxiliary input (left and right RCA audio jacks) is provided to allow the connection of a portable audio source.
Compatibility with Optional Input Adapter: An optional JVC Line Input Adapter (item # 105KSU57) or Aux Input Adapter (item # 257KSU58) may be used to provide an additional auxiliary input on this unit. This feature allows you to connect a portable audio player, such as a portable MP3 player, to this unit as an additional audio source. The adapter connects to the CD changer input on this unit. When the adapter is connected to this unit, a CD changer cannot be connected.
Optional Interface Adapter for iPod: The optional KS-PD100 adapter allows an iPod digital with a dock connector to be hooked up to and controlled by the KD-DV6200. You'll be able to scroll through all your playlists, albums, artists, genres, and composers directly from the head unit. Song titles and other file information show up right on the head unit display. The iPod is also charged while it is connected to the KD-DV6200.
Dual Zone: The KD-DV6200's dual zone system allows you to output the DVD/CD player signal to the line level video and 2nd audio outputs while playing another source through the speaker and front/rear/sub line outputs. When the Dual Zone System is activated the DVD/CD player is controlled only with the remote control. The main zone is controlled using the buttons on the face of the radio.
Clock Display: When you press the Display button during power off, the unit will turn on, display the clock for 5 seconds, then shut off. This can be done with the ignition on or off.
MP3/WMA/WAV Playback: The KD-DV6200 can play MP3/WMA/WAV files that have been recorded on CD-R/-RW, DVD-R/-RW, and DVD+R/+RW discs. Discs must be created on a computer with a DVD or CD burner. Compatible bit rates range from 32 kbps to 320 kbps. Each disc can have a maximum of 3500 files and 250 folders, with a maximum of 999 files per folder.
Note: DVDs recorded on stand alone consumer DVD burners are not compatible with this unit.
DivX/MPEG: You can play DivX and MPEG video files with 720 x 480 pixel (30 fps) or 720 x 576 pixel (25 fps) resolution.
Direct Access: You can directly access any chapter on a DVD and any track on a CD. Chapter/Track 1-12 can be accessed on the face of the radio, any chapter/track can be accessed with the remote.
Multi-Angle Display: This function allows you to choose the viewing angle of scenes that were shot from a number of different angles.
Note: This function is limited to DVDs recorded with multiple camera angles.
Monitor Type: You can choose one of the following monitor types:
- 16:9: select this when the aspect ratio of your monitor is 16:9
- 4:3 Letter Box: select this when the aspect ratio of your monitor is 4:3, when viewing a widescreen picture, the black bars appear on the top and bottom of the screen
- 4:3 Pan Scan: select this when the aspect ratio of your monitor is 4:3, when viewing a widescreen picture, the black bars do not appear; however, the left and right edges of the picture will not be shown on the screen
Scan Search: When playing a DVD or Video CD, there are five fast-play speeds in both directions (2x, 5x, 10x, 20x, and 60x).
Slow Motion: When playing a DVD or Video CD, there are five slow motion speeds in both directions (1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, and 1/2).
Repeat Play: When playing a DVD, you can repeat the current chapter or current title. When playing a Video CD, you can repeat the current track or the entire disc.
Random Play: When playing an Audio CD you can play the tracks in random order. In the case of an MP3 or WMA CD, either all the files or just the files within the current folder can be played in random order.
Zoom: When playing DVDs or Video CDs, you can enlarge the picture using the zoom feature. You can choose one of six zoom settings. Once the image is enlarged, you can move the image around on the screen.
Dynamic Range Compression: This function reduces a Dolby Digital soundtrack's dynamic range so you can hear quieter dialog without being overwhelmed by loud sections. You can choose a setting of Auto or On.
Digital Audio Output: You can choose the type of signal that passes through the optical digital output:
- PCM Only: choose when connected to an amplifier or decoder that is incompatible with Dolby Digital, DTS, or MPEG audio
- Dolby Digital/PCM: choose when connected to an amplifier or decoder that is compatible with Dolby Digital
