Overview: The AQ-SPK1.0 waterproof mid-high range speaker is a robust, durable, high quality speaker designed to withstand the harsh conditions of spa and hot tub use. Rated at 7 Watts RMS (10W peak power) and with a frequency response of 250Hz-20kHz, this compact 1" speaker can deliver clear full-range output and is ideal for installations with space restraints or for use in conjunction with larger speakers.

Waterproof Design: The AQ-SPK1.0 speaker is fully waterproof, as well as UV light and salt protected. It features a polypropylene cone with rubber surround and a neodymium magnet, all housed in a durable ABS plastic enclosure. The speaker requires a cutout diameter of 1.48" and 1.5" of mounting depth. Along with the two screws provided for mounting, the speaker flange includes a pre-installed ring of padding for providing a tight seal against the mounting surface.

  • Note: This speaker is not designed to be fully submerged or mounted below the water line

Optional Grille: The AQ-SPK1.0 does not include a grille, but is compatible with the AQ-SPG1.0 optional grille (sold separately).

Wiring: The speaker includes 10" of attached wire terminated in a proprietary 2-pin Molex connector. If not using a matching harness, the connector will need to be cut off and the wires spliced directly to any additional extension wire.

Q
Is it possible to order a compatible extension with connectors or another one of the 2 pin Molex connectors by itself?

Hi Thomas, thank you for your question. The Aquatic AV SPK1.0 speakers do use a proprietary connector. If not using a matching harness, the connector will need to be cut off and the wires spliced directly to any additional extension wire. You could use marine grade wire connectors to ensure you have a sturdy wiring connection to your newly added extension.

When I went to replace the speakers in my tub, I found the connector and wire seemed to too short also. What I found is the manufacturer had taped the extra wire to the inside of the tub's shell to keep then from getting pinched when assembling the tub. I took a long screwdriver and worked the tape loose and the I had enough wire slack to make the connection

I would suggest using your existing molecule. Clip it of 3-4 from the plug. Then get the same gauge speaker wire and water proof butt splices to gain your desired length.
